So much value, so much worse than starving buzzard. Just ridiculous.
Combo'd with the Echo loc / Scargill / Both (bear in mind it can generate copies of itself..), this is disproportionately powerful. If it was nerfed the damage to murloc shaman would be huge.
Exactly, i think they should nerf the mana cost to four mana, high mana murlocs with high effects are common, and with scarrgill it's not even a change that matters in the late game.

Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!
It's a very good card that makes the archetype playable, however, it isn't even in the top tier. Without some good murloc cards this expansion then the aggro Murloc archetype would be complete garbage like it has been for quite some time.
Do you think bomb warrior would be where it is is literally everyone wasn't playing it like they are? Hell no. Decks have higher win rates the more games they're played more often than not, more games come from more players. If as many people were playing is as bomb warrior the stats would be more skewed

I can't seem to win much with Murloc Shaman. Whenever I play this card it's taken out immediately. So, if you wait until later in the game to get some value, that can be good. But you need tempo in the first few turns. Maybe it's just me. Never did like murlocs!
I think that it isn't very OP. When I play against Murloc shaman it seems to be easy. Even at 2 mana, in the early game it's an easy kill. When you have enough mana to really use it, its considerable to other cards. Its powerful, but not OP

HS Replay has the Murloc Shaman at 53.38% WR, Bomb Warrior is at 53.45% WR, and there are 8 others decks that are performing with a variance of .5%-1% WR that are all within the range of 54.72% to 52.17%.

I played against a murloc shaman and they played 7 anglers during the game. I lost.
yeah that happened to me too cause they were getting anglers from the anglers. he got 6 of them and 4 warleaders. i was playing warrior so i was able to win but damn usually games vs super aggro decks last a few minutes this game might have lasted 20 turns, ridiculous
Card is fine. Its the only reason Murloc is remotely competitive. Only gets decent value later in the game. There are far more cancerous cards then angler.
hahahhaha just losing against a murlock and then crying about its to op come one its not even a tier 1 or 2 deck the card is a good designed card you only dont have the skills to beat it but thats not blizzards fault
The deck has no other mechanic for generating any resources beyond the single card you draw each turn.
The card essentially says, "each murloc you play gains 'battlecry: add a random murloc to hand'."
So, you either play it alone, in which case you are limited to hand size plus mana cost of cards generated, OR
you play it with Scargill, in which case you have to be at turn 6 or later to get any value, and turn 10 to get full value.
So the worst possible scenario is you play turn 10 Scargill, Angler, and 5 random murlocs. You will end the turn with a 4/4, a 2/3, 5 random locs, and the same number of cards in hand as after playing the Angler.
Certainly, that is a hell of a tempo play, but think about the circumstances where Murloc Shaman gets to turn 10 without winning the game. You can't draw Scargill and Angler in the same turn, which means you held one of them turn 9. It's hard to envision the game not being obviously won or obviously lost at that point, and when you look over the meta, you see a bunch of decks that can handle a late game swing like that, and a bunch more that will never let you survive to turn 10 playing murlocs.
The fact that the deck is tier 3 is not a fluke. If they print some new murlocs in the next set, it may become a concern, but when you find yourself playing Tidehunter and Oracle just to fish out (no pun intended) enough of the murloc tribe, you're basically rolling the dice on a pure aggro draw.
Of course, what normally ends up happening is you play Angler without Scar and maybe generate two cards off it. If the opponent can't kill the Angler the next turn, the results can be ugly, but that's the game. Nothing to be done about the fact that letting your opponent's minions stick is rough.
Anyway, I keep seeing people trying to make it work on ladder, and more often than not, I take a star or some legend ranks off their hands for the trouble. Deck could turn into an issue with another set, but not now.

make it a legendary :)))
agree it´s propably the most powerful card in the edition. legend would be much better but even then ....
It's not even Tier 1 deck...
Tempo Storm has it as a Tier 3 Deck at the moment.

Vicious Syndicate ranks Murloc Shaman at Tier 3, as well, for Ranks 4 to1 and Legend range.

HS Replay has it Tier 2 with a very similar win-rate to Mech Paladin, Bomb Warrior, and Tempo Rogue.

The deck is not OP but the card is totally silly. On the level of Drakonid OP.
