This seems ridiculous. How do you counter this? I play mostly control shaman but this combo seems broken and stupid.
Whispering woods + soul of the forest is impossible to clear for most classes, when they have it it's like gg. Turn after they can double blessing of ancients and savage roar. If 5 of those minions stick its OTK.
So token druids just put the pressure on from turn 2, wait till they have those cards and im pretty much done. Getting pretty fed up with this. Anyone have any idea and insights how to counter this?
Control Warrior, Warpath, easy win. OK not so easy sometimes, but it's a favorable matchup. I even cut shield block to have better deck against control, and I'm doing fine against druid.
midrange hunter: put a hyena out there, dire frenzy it before he can kill it with spells. => wanna see the druid that plays wispering woods into that while you hold unleash the hounds ... :P (i actually *did* see such a druid ..... how beautiful to attack with a 17/11 on turn 5....)

Cross-server challenge-a-friend quest trading:
If you play primarily on NA, but also on EU, then maybe you are interested in cross-server trading? Whenever I get the 80g quest on NA I would love to give it away and get it on EU in return. If you'd like a long-lasting trade routine, drop me a message here on hearthpwn!
Yogg-Saron challenge: Whenever you encounter a Yogg Saron player - concede in honor and send a friend request. It takes balls to play a card that usually results in your own death. :D
that does not really help you, though, apparently. no idea how control shaman can deal with that.... sorry mate :(

As a Shaman, you can still Lightning Storm + Mossy Horror, or try and soak up damage with rain of frogs (whatever the real name) and try to recover the next turn.
Trade the tokens with your minions and Mass Hysteria.
Kill them with your aggro deck because he don't have any taunt.
Play rogue, really, never lose for this new token druid with any rogue deck, not once.
Control shaman? Just accept the match is bad for you.
Trade them with minions and mass hysteria, i think 8/10 times you dont have any minions to trade with.
I know control shaman is a bad match-up, and i like these ideas you guys have brought up, but lets be realistic, their trick will work 80% of the time against 6 or 7/9 classes they play against. its just a very easy to pull of combo that you are very likely to not have an answer to if you play most of the archetypes right now.
I just wanted to know what you guys tought about this and get some ideas. If i really face a lot of token i might switch decks. But it kinda narrows it down to tempo rogue/control warrior or pray to RNGesus you have yo shit in time.
Not to mention these guys can pull this trick out of their asses twice.
Feels very cheap and i hope the meta will shift because praying he does not have 4/30 cards on turn 8-12 is kinda ruïning the match for me.
Control Warrior has so many removals for token druid.
Freeze mage with MG and Conjure spell wrecks token.
When I play rogue vs token druid. I mulligan for Backstab/Prep/Evis/Edwin. I usually will be able to make a 6/6 or 8/8 edwin on turn two. That is pretty much gg for them. Cant feel good either :)
I play mainly pala, just because vargoth I run 2x consecration, avenging wrath and call to adventure, but shaman should be harder since it'll give you double overload

Isnt Control Shaman supposed to run Lightning Storm and Hagatha`s Scheme?
Also, if that is too expensive for you, you could probably find a place for Beakered Lightning. Or perhaps even a Wild Pyromancer on top of that (although that would probably take up too much slots in the deck).

I guess the best way to beat token druid is to stop playing shaman and move to another deck that does better vs token druids.
sorry man, as a shaman player myself I feel your pain, but control shaman does not have very good tools right now to fight that kind of board.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.

Beakered Lightning sounds also a must-have.
Mass dispel does not do enough if you dont have something on the board, and priest decks that play mass dispel are usually behind on board.
Vanish is only played in very slow rogue decks, its a temporary solution and i dont see it being played in any t1/2 rogue decks.

You just cant play a home brew vs a Tier S Deck.

play carpet zoo. it hard counters token druid.
