Because people just doing quests. If you have an "OP deck", which you like but it is bad at your current rank due meta switch, why not continue playing it in casual for gold?
I cannot remember the last time I played casual, it's such a pointless mode. I can see the point if it was limited to new decks in some way (no idea how that would work) but it's just standard with no ranks to climb. You're better off playing your meme decks or inexperienced decks in ranked. You'll learn quicker and meme decks can catch people out on ladder. If its to complete quests faster just create another account and play against yourself. That's the fastest way to complete quests.
Well, in casual you can play whatever you want ! Some test decks others simply play without the possibility to loose a star/rank or to get more familiar with certain decks.
Every now and then there happens to be a thread about people playing t1 decks in casual , so this is nothing new .... casual is simply a mode for everyone and every deck
But i think a (big?) part of the community / player base are missing a format where they can play WITH and AGAINST meme / original / off-meta decks. In other words a (casual) place where you don't run into proven (ladder) decks 99% of the time.
We are straying a bit off-topic from the original question here tho.
I play casual to complete quests when I don't want to risk my rank and the class for the quest hasn't any t1-2 decks. But usually I complete most quest during the week in the brawl if it's funny and tax free LOL.
I know but when l reach 5 stars on a certain rank, The matches always feel tense, and it feels really bad when I lose and specially when I end up on a losing streak back to zero stars. That's where the tilt comes in. I only have one tier 1 deck, I think that's also a factor that contributes to the tilt.
Until Blizzard create a " Fun only" mode where there is no gold reward and what you play there doesnt count toward daily quests then you may truely experience fun meme decks there
I wish it is THAT simple. You probably still see people bring proven (ladder) decks to that format to troll or because they can (man, i hate that argument. Because you can doesn't mean you have to...)
I think a format with restrictions is the only solution (like 1 legendary, 4 epics, 8 rares, rest commons i.e.),

Sigh....
Some people are still in believe Legendarys are winning games for you. Despite the fact that you could probably find very fast an appropriate on HSreplay. It’s proven that you don’t need a super expensive deck to climb to Legend.
The issue is not with them but with the hypocrites from Blizzard that do not want to improve the game and both lower the time investment needed for some things AND restrict certain cards from casual (like i.e. Most epics and legendaries).
Blizzard doesn't make you play a proven (ladder) deck in casual...
Personaly i just concede when i see my opponent is playing Odd / Even in casual. I don't care if is a free win for them. They get their dailies done faster (and might go back to ranked?). If i wanna face the same deck(s) over and over i will play ranked.
You're trying to argue why people play ladder decks in casual. Simply put, it's their choice and you have no say in it.
Unless Blizzard does something to actual make Casual...casual, that mode just takes away from your fun and time, and gives the incentive to other players to keep playing meta decks in this mode.
In other words, I wouldn't "just concede" when I battle a meta deck. It has the effect of supporting those that play them.
But it's your time and "fun" and none of us will be able to educate the players in any way, anyway. Until Fukzzard takes action we're just left with the forums and our useless comments that won't change anything.
I play top teir decks in casual often when I’m on a losing streak in ranked (at rank 4 or higher) and /or am not in the groove playing the deck and I need to practice it all over again.. I only get in maybe 4-5 ranked games per day and don’t want to screw up the rank when a bit rusty
People need to stop assuming you are a netdecker/gold farmer the moment you play a decent deck. Many HS players don't netdeck, ever. It doesn't mean they play bad decks. And people also need to understand that netdeckers and gold farmers have the same rights as anyone to play casual. It's not like tons of options are available, it's either casual or ladder. If you don't want to play ladder, whatever is your decks power level you must go to casual mode and meet other people with other reasons to play casual.
I just built a keleseth quest warrior deck yesterday, I'm sure a lot of people were salty when they saw those 2 popular legendary cards on turn 1 and 2, but for me it was a new experience and I had a ton of fun playing and refining a warrior deck with 29 minions while contemplating my opponents trying so hard to play around Brawl and Supercollider.
Now I feel it's good enough for ladder and I don't care if I stomped casuals with "fun" (bad) decks.
The only time I feel bad about playing casual mode is when my opponent is an obvious new player with budget/basic deck, but this is the matchmaking fault, a 5 years hearthstone player like me with 90% full collection should never have an opportunity to play against new players.
Casual mode is just training mode, super weird decks belong to friend VS friend games imo.

very true. I personally know someone who gets legend 6 times over almost every month on the 3 main servers both standard and wild. And 2 of those servers he is F2P and has only been on them for 6 months. He is just a really skilled player and a ruthless duster of cards on the F2P servers. He is also more skilled than I by a long stretch. ... you don’t need an expensive collection to get to legend. Having a good collection allows more experimentation and fun. Gets a bit boring with a small collection and limited to maybe one or two competitive decks.
I play casual to complete daily quests and when I do so I usually use competing decks.
You can do that playing ranked too AAAAAND climb at the same time :o.
Sure, but sometimes I have to play a class or deck which i'm not used to playing with and therefore don't feel like using it on ladder. Another reason is that it's a lot faster to complete dailies on casual because people tend to play these casual/"meme" decks which are easily beaten most of the time.
EDIT: ...with that said, I do also do brawls a lot, to complete quests as it is usually just as fast as playing casual mode with a strong deck. Brawls can be more fun too.
Blizzard need to implement a 3rd mode and make it ranked, unranked and casual.
Yes, practicing is a good reason for top decks in casual - but some people need to stop pretending that there isn't a clear need for a mode where people can play and experiment with interesting and often unused cards, to gradually hone their own decks, without having to face so many people tryharding with the same efficient, and often boring, tier 1 decks.
As a new player, I play 100% of my games in Casual (Standard) after I hit Rank 20.
Even in Casual however, I come across a lot of those odd/even decks. The odd/even decks are likely net decks which you've copied by looking at decks with the highest win-rate. Which is fine, of course, because that's what I'm currently working towards doing.
But I'm legit curious as to why some of you are playing Casual (with your OP decks) when you could be winning and laddering in Ranked. Is it because Ranked is mentally draining? Or is it because you can't progress any further in Ranked and don't enjoy it there anymore? If so, what Rank were you?
Just curious guys, I thought Ranked was where all the glory was.
I never play casual any more. I use to think it was a good place to test my homebrewed decks or learn a new deck. This isnt the case, because others are doing this aswell u run into alot of off meta decks and u also meet alot of people who piloting their net decks badly. If u want to test your deck u have to take it to ranked to get a real feeling on how it works.
I think many think as i did and play that mode for this reason.

I will crush you!
Also, Casual is the best place to test tournament decks prior events (if you're a competetive player).

So, midrange hunter.
wait, there is a casual mode ?? im sure its filled with netdecking noobs that are not good enough for ladder...
I like to farm casuals.
Sigh....

How I would solve this problem?
start a new mode called: Vanilla Season one cards only mode. as opposed to wild mode, problem solved, fun restored, belief in humanity restored.
I hope, they will
