As a new player, I play 100% of my games in Casual (Standard) after I hit Rank 20.
Even in Casual however, I come across a lot of those odd/even decks. The odd/even decks are likely net decks which you've copied by looking at decks with the highest win-rate. Which is fine, of course, because that's what I'm currently working towards doing.
But I'm legit curious as to why some of you are playing Casual (with your OP decks) when you could be winning and laddering in Ranked. Is it because Ranked is mentally draining? Or is it because you can't progress any further in Ranked and don't enjoy it there anymore? If so, what Rank were you?
Just curious guys, I thought Ranked was where all the glory was.

Yes because you know what people playing the most OP decks are looking for? Glory. Definitely not looking for easy wins or something
It's easy. People want that extra chance of facing a meme deck, thus increasing their chances for a win, thus lowering the time needed to finish quests and/or get more gold.
The issue is not with them but with the hypocrites from Blizzard that do not want to improve the game and both lower the time investment needed for some things AND restrict certain cards from casual (like i.e. Most epics and legendaries).
You won too much on casual so your casual MMR rised to a level you play with people with better decks you should have a good deck by now... if you can you really should craft baku you will get your dust back next month.
Odd paladin is a very cheap deck most new players would rather play it since it's strong and really cheap all you really need is baku and some commons.
My point is that the players you play at casual aren't necessarily Veterans but new players that crafted a top tier deck cause they like winning but play casual cause they don't like to compete or don't feel confident enough.. or they want to get easier wins as you said.
Casual is just not ranked and not "play homebrew decks/newbie mode" it has it's own mmr and players still want to win their games.
I thought like you some years ago too, but then c'thun came out and i had fun laddering to about lvl 15-10. Now i can sit back after 2 days on rank 5 because you don't fall back there. But the thing is that there you face 10 of the same netdecks they just saw on a stream or websites like this. Sometimes it's a storm like with zoolock some time ago or odd-pala. So i build me so homebrews for casual just for fun b4 i play them against the same netdecks on ranked. Many people play casual because the diversity is bigger there. If you play every day and even do some arena you can get quite a big collection f2p. I focus on 3-4 of my favourite HS characters and get decent-good results,. But casual is what's it there for, casual play.
The issue is not with them but with the hypocrites from Blizzard that do not want to improve the game and both lower the time investment needed for some things AND restrict certain cards from casual (like i.e. Most epics and legendaries).
Blizzard doesn't make you play a proven (ladder) deck in casual...
Personaly i just concede when i see my opponent is playing Odd / Even in casual. I don't care if is a free win for them. They get their dailies done faster (and might go back to ranked?). If i wanna face the same deck(s) over and over i will play ranked.
Casual mode in HS in reality does not mean "Play casually for fun" , infact it is " Unrank Rank Mode" It has been this way for years mate.
Until Blizzard create a " Fun only" mode where there is no gold reward and what you play there doesnt count toward daily quests then you may truely experience fun meme decks there
I think people also sometimes get this impression specially when they try top tier decks but then change 2 or 3 cards to see how the deck plays out/experiment.

I wish it is THAT simple. You probably still see people bring proven (ladder) decks to that format to troll or because they can (man, i hate that argument. Because you can doesn't mean you have to...)
I think a format with restrictions is the only solution (like 1 legendary, 4 epics, 8 rares, rest commons i.e.),
I do it for the daily quests with heroes/decks I'm not familiar with.
The deck might win in standard, true ... But if I reach rank 6 or so with my deck, I'm not going to play another deck/hero in ranked to first lose a few (and lose that rank) before I can win some for the daily.

This is a ridiculous thing to say. 'most' epics, who determines which do and don't make it? That means then that even people making fun homebrew decks which combine a couple of meme legendary cards can't play it out in casual. These types of suggestions are really daft because everyone had their own view of what would be good. A poster below you said limit it to one legendary.
You lot are just talking rubbish with absolutely no regard for the player base of the impact such a decision could and would have on the player base. Which is why people like you aren't in game development. All you think about is what you personally would like, screw the ramifications. It wouldn't be too bad if you just suggested it but you have such an arrogant tone to what you're suggesting, as if Blizzard are idiots for not thinking of or implementing it already.
If i need to play a new deck and learn its mechanics and combinations, i will do it in casual play, when im confortable with it, will go back to ranked.

In regard to the bold.
It is an opinion.. That YOU don't agree does not make it (a) ridiculous (opinion).
I ('the poster below' ) suggested a (NEW) format with in example (i.e.) where you can have only one Legendary in the deck. I did not say they have to change casual.
I think (most) people DO care about the player base. It is why we have topics like this one...
And did you have a look at YOUR tone.... Something with a pot and a kettle =/
Maybe add something to OP question instead of only criticise someone's reply.
Once I reach rank 5, I stop playing ladder. The tilt is too much for me. I dont see any problem playing tier 1 or 2 decks on casual the same way I dont think therws a problem playing meme decka on ladder.

To test out playing unfamiliar decks to see how they play without affecting rank.

Same here Yeah2see! They farm gold in casual mode, knowing that mistakes are much bigger cause of the lack of experience.

Because I can play whatever I want wherever I want
Just for gold
I play casual to complete daily quests and when I do so I usually use competing decks.

True, but is it really that much fun / rewarding to win against a meme / fun deck with a proven (ladder) deck?
Isn't it more fun to play a wacky deck against some other wacky deck?
You can do that playing ranked too AAAAAND climb at the same time :o.
