Baku, Genn, DK's and whatever new deckbuilding legendaries that come out dominate the meta.
"No they don't! Hunter beats them!"
1.) Link my boy, Hunter IS them!
2.) Hunter can also be Aggro, one of the best aggro decks right now and dirt cheap, and aggro is the only thing that can stand up to the raw uninteractivity that is getting beaten down by a broken Hero, while also ironically being virtually uninteractive as well.
The only other type of deck that can stand up to either of these current Standard-ruling archetypes are combo decks which have equally uninteractive win-cons.
Nothing is new, interesting or exciting about Hero decks, combo decks or SMOrc decks, particularly when nothing else - not tempo, midrange or control decks that occupy the board in any meaningful way - matters in the format.
The best way to keep the game fresh and interesting is certainly NOT to remove Classic cards. No, that would make things even WORSE! The only solution to not let these brainless decks dominate the meta is to add more raw power to it, and a hilariously easy way to do that is to reintroduce older expansions to Standard. One old large expansion and one mini-expansion, and just rotating those would be a great solution. Those mini-expansions going on sale during their time in Standard as well as packs for older expansions being earned more easily would keep them accessible to newer players without overwhelming them with new content.
More win-cons will be introduced, sure, but these decks - decks with FLJ, Genn/Baku, Zul'Jin+Rhok'delar as well as Aggro decks ALL PREY on there being NOTHING ELSE GOING ON IN THE FORMAT! Bring back C'Thun for a year! Heck even bring back Reno and everything else insane about freaking Gadgetzan over what is in the meta right now! Because NOTHING IS GOING ON IN STANDARD RIGHT NOW EXCEPT THESE STUPID CARDS!!! BRING BACK OLDER, MORE INTERESTING CARDS TO THE FORMAT AND HAVE THEM ROTATE OUT BETWEEN YEARS! We will gladly pay for a better gamestate.
You complain about standard, but I don't know, wild isn't all that fun either. Resurrect priests and mill rogues... I'd rather play against odd paladin, to be honest.
I feel like you've never even played a single game in wild.
Baku and Genn are just as dominant in wild as they are in standard. So your idea won't change anything in that regard.
I actually disagree with this sentiment. Wild is largely dominated with decks that don't include Genn or Baku (Even Shaman and Even Warlock being the 2 exceptions). Odd Rogue has now been out classed by pirate rogue, and Odd paladin out classed by Aggro/Giant/Murloc Pally and Even Warlock isn't quite a powerhouse, arguably worse then Mechalock and Cubelock/Control Warlock.
Among all the salt in that post there's anche actually pretty good idea (good ol' core set,not original, but good nontheless),still i wanted to address the other half of the post:
You listed a lot of powerful cards ( e.g. DKs) like they have no way to be beaten which Is (let's put It nicely) not the smartest thing to say, they are not going infinite in any way dispite what people with no understanding of what these cards do might say (exept rexxar, but he's only really a problem now in standard because the Beast pool Is insanely good) cards Like these are (IMO) super healthy for the game as they are REALLY powerful but they still can lose at any point (to clarify, not Like otk/infinite decks where at some point they win regardeless of what you did and the only real way to stop them Is pure SMORC)
Also given how powerful they are, there's no way they become unplayable because old cards come back (i'm so sad to Say It because I love the card but c'thun Is not that impressive in a meta like this)

Even shaman is still extremely powerful in wild, whereas it's nonexistent in standard.
Even warlock is one of the, if not the, best deck in wild, together with Kingsbane rogue.
Odd warrior is stronger in wild than it is in standard.
Odd and even paladin are more prominent in standard.
Odd mage is in decline in standard and not really used in wild.
And lastly Odd rogue took a big hit in both formats.
So yes, the prominence of Genn and Baku decks doesn't differ much, when compared in both formats. Which is OP's main point.
If he gets sick of Genn and Baku in standard, he'll also get sick of them in wild. His idea won't change much.

Your idea = introduce core sets.
Great idea. It has been suggested at least a thousand times on this page. But great idea!

Just play wild then
Even shaman is still extremely powerful in wild, whereas it's nonexistent in standard.
Even warlock is one of the, if not the, best deck in wild, together with Kingsbane rogue.
Odd warrior is stronger in wild than it is in standard.
Odd and even paladin are more prominent in standard.
