No. OTK decks are good - keep Control decks in check.
Fair point, but a neutral tech vs combo is needed for keep OTK in check too, is bad for the game any archetype be uncheck.
Aggro decks do a fine job of keeping OTK decks in check. No neutral is needed. Nor wanted.
The problem with that is that you end up with combo decks having very unbalanced winrates. Either autowin or autolose based on MU (in the same vein as something like MTG's Spanish inquisition, or even Oops), and this leads to less fun games - either the opp's clock is fast enough or it isn't. As a combo player, I like playing games, I like the soft hate, like Loatheb, like Rat, that can be played around (rat less so, but you can mitigate it by sandbagging creatures). Neutral combo disruption is widely wanted by the community.
That was part of the fun of playing freezemage - can I play around Loatheb/eater this game? If so, how? Is it worth it, or am I better going for it earlier and hoping the opp doesn't have it?
And if we include a neutral tech card against OTK, OTK will just lose to everything. No thanks.
Only people crying about OTK decks are the Control Whiners, and they NEVER stop crying.
The difference between Ragnaros the Firelord and Malygos (as per your comparison...) is that Ragnaros was a powerful card that you could LITERALLY throw into any deck. Same with Azure Drake... Same with Sylvanas Windrunner... They were very powerful (not a bad thing for a card to be powerful) but they were also overused because they were neutral and could fit basically any flex spot in a deck...
Malygos requires you to build your deck around it... it's not a card you can just throw into a random deck and expect it to perform well.
Personally... I don't think Malygos needs a HOF... the classic set NEEDS powerful legendaries that will impact the meta from time to time.
Btw, why everyone compares him to Sylvanas or Ragnaros? Compare him with Molten Giant and you‘ll realize he will hopefully rest in peace/pieces soon. :)
I'd rather they print combo counters than get rid of Malygos. And for those counters I'd rather they delay combos rather than break them (i.e. A card that says "shuffle the most expensive card in your opponent's hand into their deck" as opposed to a card that says "destroy a 9-cost dragon in your opponent's hand"). More cards like Loatheb, less cards like Skulking Geist.
If anything is gonna get HoF’d, it’s Leeroy Jenkins, Alex, Doomsayer, Mountain Giant. Mal yoga is powerful, but extremely niche, and you build a deck around don’t include it by default into decks when, you have a free slot, unlike the other ones above. Hell, I think even Thalnos has more of a chance of being HoF than Maly. I could certainly be wrong, but it would be a bit nuts.

Control players want to counter anything and everything, but not get any counter to their decks. They deserve losing against OTK or combo, because they do nothing the whole game.
Ragnaros wasn't HOF'ed just because he had a big impact on the game. He was HOF'ed because he had a big impact, could be played in lots of different decks, and his effect randomly decided too many games. Malygos doesn't fit well in decks that are not build around him, and his effect isn't random, so he's a completely different class of card than Ragnaros was.
I swear I don't play the same game as everyone else. I almost never play against Maly at rank 5, I almost always play against Togwaggle or Token as far as Druid decks go. I actually can't remember the last time I went against a Malygos. Furthermore, I am always honestly begging my opponent to be Maly instead of Tog. Control decks should easily beat Malygos if they have an armor mechanic, since I am playing mostly big spell mage just 10-14 armor from Artificers will generally win me the game. Warrior autowins versus Maly, Control Paladin should be in a similar boat with Thekal. If you are playing an aggressive deck Maly almost never matters, the game comes down to the Druid surviving. I swear the people who complain about Malygos don't actually play the game, they quit before Boomsday and didn't bother to actually play and see what the meta actually turned out to be like.
No, Malygos is just a win condition, I’d rather lose to it that to fatigue decks. And disagree that it has always been in the meta, it was rarely seen before druid got all those broken cards.

If it's a hard counter? Yes. If it's a softer counter, as I explained in my post - along the lines of loatheb, or the impact of eater on freeze - then bad OTK players lose to everything, and good OTK players take their chances, can win, can lose based on skill. Loatheb did not kill combo decks, whilst being neutral tech against them. Eater did not kill freezemage, despite being very good against them. Nor did the secret stealer. So no, not all hate will lead to no OTK. This is coming from a combo player who has been known to hit legend with Freeze in the past, because that was a ridiculously strong deck.
Loatheb was BROKEN. Not just because it stopped spell based OTK decks, but because it was game winning in so many situations.

Regardless of if Loatheb specifically was broken, cards designed like it that act as soft counters are still good to have.
Malygos himself isn't the problem, the problem is all of the stall cards. Even if he doesn't get hall of famed, he will become severely worse when things like Spreading Plague finally leave.
There will always be new stall cards. Malygos is the only constant. He wont get worse. He does exactly what hes always done. The tools might change, but there will always be a Malygos OTK deck in one form or another.
Malygos is very meta dependent and does get worse. There will not always be a Malygos OTK deck, at least not in the top tiers. For long stretches in Hearthstone's history Malygos was only seen in fringe tier 4 decks that you could go months without seeing on ladder.
Maly priest will get worse when spellstone, Radiant, etc rotate out.
Druid gets worse when they lose branching paths, spreading plague, Twig.
Rogue will lose Kobold illusionist.
Malygos decks will become a lot weaker after the next rotation, no need for a move to HOF. Yes the decks are annoying to play against, but without OTK/combo, it would be controlstone.
Malygos has only ever seen play in modern HS through gimmick synergies and coin flip highrolls, barring of course Floop. Without a way to bring out a copy of Maly for cheap you're not going to see Maly HoFed after the rotation simply because nobody is going to pay for a 9 mana do nothing minion.
I think Malygos has at least as big an impact on the game now as Ragnaros ever had, and the decks he enables are all the same. Stall stall stall, you're dead. Its really fun and interactive.
Edit: Started writing the thread as a statement : He should be moved, but decided to change it to a question. Thread title suffered for it.
Is this a joke? I can't remember the last time I saw turn 9.

Mojomaster Ziji, Nerubian Unraveler, Mana Wraith, are cards that exist in this game and can very well interrupt for 1-2 turns the OTK decks. I am using Mojomaster Ziji, in several decks, including a meme Tess Rogue and he has won me many games. I think that the problem is that the people don't want to include many tech cards in their decks (if you are playing an aggro deck you shouldn't need them because you will Smorc OTK decks to death beforehand)

Man , I Loled so hard. But it's true. 9/10 you will be smorced to death from aggro/tempo decks like midrange beast hunter and the 1 time that you will win with a Malygos OTK they are gonna riot :P

Nah, Malygos is ok.
They need to move Druid as a class, to the hall fo fame instead
