I have been playing hearthstone for 3 years and have been bad that entire time. I have made Malygos Druid, Zoolock, cubelock, and midrange hunter. I made the first 2 once booms day came out. Hunter was from the beginning and cubelock was when cube came out. I need help finding out why I can’t climb above rank 19 ever in standard. I tried wild 2 weeks ago and am already rank 17 there. Any tips on how I can get above rank 19 in standard? I can’t make any more decks since well I am a f2p and it takes time to get dust. I could make a few changes to my current decks though.
PS. The zoolock deck is a budget deck so it has no keleseth and I can’t make a kelseth. Malygos Druid DOES NOT have arcane tyrants, Lich King, and Alextrasa.
Rank 19 in standard is like trash-tier legend, but you need to figure out what breaks the rank meta. I put together a home-made odd big mage and made it out past rank 15 because no one had any idea what they were playing against, and it beat zoo.
im frequently a Rank 5 or higher Rank every season and reached Legend before.
I would say if you cant get past 19 it means you lack knowledge how to trade/play around/control the most efficient way.
And its also about researching decks the meta and specially knowing which deck you play against. If you know all these to mulligan right gets easier and you should rank up pretty quickly.

I agree that rank 19 really feels like a high brick wall, but i can get to rank 18 consistently by using my own decks instead of meta defaults, the opponents cant rely on their knowledge of meta decks.
1. Know your deck (pun intended) and its combos, strengths and weaknesses.
2. Gauge the frequency of your opponents. I often face (and f--king hate) swarmy aggro crap like zoo lock, odd paladin, even lock and shamans, so Big Spell Mage has become my go-to deck since Witchwood. It doesn't match well against Shudderwock or rogue decks, though.
3. If the improvising sucks, get the dust for the specific cards. Make sure you are legit with the deck, though. I have done well with recruit warrior and big priest missing some cards (made the latter win without Ysharrj), but I wasted a lot of dust on control paladin hopes in previous expansions.
4. Try wild if you are not already. Different pace might help.
5. Watch streamers for ideas in situations, esp. If they run your deck on YouTube highlights.
100% one of the biggest helps I got in this game was watching streamers play, specifically ones who talk out their moves, and then talking my moves out the same way.
Why do you want to play this minion? What negatives could come from using this removal now? Also always keep an eye on the opponents health. I never realized how much I missed lethal before. Take your time, go to rope if you have to but maybe try playing a little more reserved?
I have a problem where I can’t play more than a few games at a time without getting anxious about it, so I know the frustration of not getting past a certain rank, for different reasons.
There was a RiniGrandViper stream a couple of days ago where Firebat coached her to play Zoolock, so maybe check that out. In my opinion, you need Keleseth, so I would dust some stuff (carefully) and craft him. If he’s in your opening hand, your winrate gets a big boost.
Secondly, make sure your mulligan is always correct - that is 100% essential. I recommend using HearthSim for that. The free version is okay. The paid versions lets you look at mulligan stats by class though, which is better.
Thirdly, use a deck tracker, if you are not already. Start thinking more about playing to your outs and when to trade vs. when to go face. For example, my last few Zoolock games vs. Baku Rogue ended after I had to go face, completely lost the board, but put my opponent’s health low enough (and they don’t have heal). I knew I had 2 SFs, 1 Lifedrinker, and 1 DG in my last 14 cards, and at least 4 draws to find them (which I did).
Lastly, the meta shifts. So, when people start hard countering Zoolock (if they aren’t already) you will need to play something else, like Evenlock.
The meta below rank 15 is the worst. Most people are netdecking to climb but they're too bad to even reach rank 15 and that makes it even more frustrating to lose against these guys. I would advice you to play your own deck : they'll have no clue about what you're playing and you should climb faster this way. It shouldn't be that hard for you to climb with midrange hunter (could you share the decklist ?) if you tech the right cards to counter the decks you encounter the most...
If you're looking for some extra dust, you should give a look at this 2 videos, the dude is showing which cards you can safely disenchant as they're just too bad or unplayable.
Not trading efficiently, playing into your opponent's big board clears, missing opportunities to capitalize on your opponent's big mistakes or low energy plays.

My tips:
- Focus on one deck, which is T1 or T2 at the moment.
- Focus on a deck, which can win faster, because even if you have a winrate about 50% you can still climb with enough games, because of some random win streaks here and there.
- Focus on a deck you really like. It's not optimal if you try to get better with a deck you are sick off very quickly.
- Try to build this deck completly - no budget version. And if you have to build a budget version, post your list in a forum, so people can help you, which cards are the best to compensate the ones you are missing.
- Use a deck tracker and when you got enough games, look up which matchups your winrates are bad against and think about how you can improve it (maybe with tech cards or a different playstyle).
- Don't switch decks! Try to master one deck - or a maximum of two decks. If you play a lot of different decks you will be meh or bad in all of them without mastering one.
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
I got to rank 19 and hit pirate warrior like how did I know I was gonna get that match up. I just don’t think someone showing stuff will make me win more when I am dead by turn 5.

Play some taunts in your deck, like Tar Creeper which can be used even in midrange decks very well. One Ooze can help as well if you facing a lot of decks, which uses weapons. PW is no op at all for a long time.

Thx I look at the videos
Thx I’ll look at the videos. Sadly I already disenchanted cards I don’t use ie almost every warrior card I had.
@Wurstvirtuos how do I contact you?
Same problem here, but rank 2 in wild, it’s impossible to get through it
