first of all: sorry for my english, not a native speaker.
I'm kind of a new player, playing since march this year. I invested some money over the last months in packs and got the cards to build an odd paladin deck. Which is nice for short matches and all but by now I'm kind of bored and want to try a new deck. I racked up about 5500 dust which i want to invest in crafting a different deck, possibly a control deck.
I read a lot of threads to build an opinion, looked at the meta stats at hsreplay and so but i can't decide which is the most suitable deck for me.
I'm playing mostly standard and very casual, got at most 2 hours per day to play, ranked only 18 so far but want to aim for MAXIMUM rank 5, if i ever find the time and motivation to do so. After spending the dust collected so far, I don't think i will buy packs with real money again, so i would like to build a deck which i possibly can play for a few months before it gets outdated (probably hard to tell though)
Most appealing to me seem Cubelock and Taunt Druid (or Token Druid) or maybe odd rogue, though i never played much rogue and don't know if i like the playstyle.
I guess that most decks will get outdated when the new expansion is released. That should be sometime in beginning of August. You could wait for the next expansion and then craft a top tier deck. Of course, you will not have all the packs from the new exp, but 5000 dust could be enough. And then the deck should last a little bit longer.
Any deck you play will be viable at least until the next expansion. It might get even better when the new set is released. I really like taunt druid. It is great against aggro decks. Warlock is steadily going downhill from what it was, but still decent.
Odd Rogue is not Control and quite straightforward. Definitely different from a more typical and strategical Rogue style, that is Miracle.
Cubelock and Taunt Druid look quite solid, and i can't see them being obliterated from the meta any soon.
In your decision, you might want to consider the amount of neutral crafting (more valuable than class crafting) and your taste for the class in general (similar logic, certain class cards could be staple for other class decks too).
Thank you everybody for all the input so far! I lean towards Cubelock, although the stats on hsreplay only show the deck tier 3 now?!
Probably t3 would still be enought to reach rank 15 or maybe even 5? so i shouldn't care too much? I don't care too much but of course i don't want to lose all the time ;-)
The decision seems quite hard because apart from buying packs it's really slow to gain them through quests so i'm kind of frightend to be stuck with odd paladin (wins alot, sure, but it gets boring quick) and something else. But maybe that will always be kinda the problem :)
The stats on hsreplay show cubelock as high as tier 1, only for legend (and maybe rank 1-5). Below that it falls off the board pretty hard. As long as you don't make misplays you should be able to climb with it. It's just not as forgiving any more with the lower heal and later tempo swings.
Keep in mind the next expansion is still two months away, which is quite a long ways away, so even if you do craft something like taunt druid, it'll still serve you well for over two months. I say this because taunt druid is kinda fun at times. In new expansions though, mage or shaman could push for the most popular decks, which of course would ruin taunt druid (because of Hex or Polymorph).
Token druid is also fairly fun, but it relies on your opponent not having their answers in time. You can try to build a board without Souls of the Forest, then use that next turn, and pray they don't have their clear. Or you can just hope you're not against a warlock (Defile) or Priest (Psychic Scream, double Duskbreaker, Mass Dispel). I had fun with it for a little bit, but, like you, got bored quickly haha.
I'd vote for taunt druid. It's just more fun and cubelock still gives me a bad taste in my mouth, after it dominated the meta for over half a year lol.

Spell Hunter is extremely fun and very good right now and will probably only get better. Only 2 legendary cards in the deck so it's fairly cheap to build. I recommend it.
Do you care for wild at all because if you're looking for a deck that is cheap and has been tier 1-2 for a very long time i.e. easy rank 5 climb then I can recommend some that are really cheap?

Let me know! ^^
I tried wild only for a few games and it was kind of like "oh look, all that those nice cards i've never seen before which i have no idea to counter and boom - lost" :) so I gave up on that pretty quickly
Based on your collection you have a good chunk of the stuff already used in recruit hunter which is a very powerful deck right now. The most important things you are missing are Kathrena Winterwisp, a second Charged Devilsaur, and Deathstalker Rexxar. On top of that you also will be crafting safe cards that are used in almost every hunter deck currently meaning even if reruit falls out of favor you can still make other hunter decks.
Now there are currently 2 version of Recruit Hunter which are the secret variation and the keleseth one. You have (outside of the cards mentioned above) everything you need to make the spellstone version of the deck and it fits within your budget. Now the keleseth version is the better overall deck and has a higher winrate but demands extra legendaries like Houndmaster Shaw, The Lich King and Prince Keleseth himself.
Here's a link to the kinda deck you can make (the deck does contain Houndmaster Shaw but he can be replaced with other cards where he is harder to replace in the keleseth variant)

Sounds fun, too. There's too much choice for a indecisive person like I am, lol.
Any input to Spiteful Druid like this one? Looks kinda fun and there's the lich king which seems to be used in a lot of different decks. Granted i'm lacking a bit of dust and I don't know if it's very hard to pilot...
@Anatak: As you're playing a druid...what do you think of spiteful druid? There are a lot of cards which can be used in other decks and it seems like a mix between taunt and token if i'm not mistaken.
Sorry for the double post, is there a way to delete a post? I can't find it...

I like playing Spiteful Druid actually haha. Lots of people on this forum hate it because it is a very, very minion based deck with little interactivity. It relies on the high roll of the Spiteful Summoner on turn 7 (or sooner, thanks to Greedy Sprite), and counter play is quite difficult in most cases. Spiteful decks allow you to play on curve almost perfectly, so it's a very forgiving deck. The only problem is, if you're against another heavy aggro deck (odd paladin especially), it's hard to fight back because you have no real board clear. The closest thing you've got to fighting against something like that is Mind Control Tech, which is hardly reliable.
I wouldn't really compare it to taunt or token druid, since those are a lot more spell based decks. Token druid definitely has a higher skill cap, and it can be difficult to just jump into that deck actually, but it can be fun to overwhelm your opponent with a full board plus double Savage Roar haha. Even if they hate you for it.

I think taunt druid is good to climb. It got me to rank 1 in ladder last month. But beware of Hex/Poly.

taunt druid can be countered easily so i wouldnt suggest you crafting it but cubelock still looks good after the nerf and is still t1
i play cubelock and lose 5 games in a row then i play odd paladin and get my stars back wash rinse repeat

Hey everybody !
I wanted to thank all of you for taking your time and sharing your advice with me
In the end I crafted a taunt druid deck which I like very much so far.
Have a good day!
Any Odd deck is dust-efficient, since it won't rotate for long. That is if you are not a wild-player.
