I like this meta as well; I hope that Shaman finds a deck with more than 50% WR to have all classes in Tier 2 at least. Kudos for Spiteful Druid being Tier 1.
I agree I see of looot of different things. Very often I'm surprised by what the opponent plays. I see a Paladin and I'm like "oh probably Baku" and then no, neither Baku or Genn. I've started to see Odd Rogues yesterday and it was a surprise. I even saw quite a few Even Mages, some Baku non-quest Warrior... Anyway, lots of things, that's pretty cool. It feels way more diverse than the early days of previous expansions, and I feel like there's still a lot of undiscovered decks and everything I try seems at a decent powerlevel compared to other decks (since yesterday I play Elemental Shaman and I have a very good winrate with it around 500-1000 legend).
Two things : I'm disappointed that so many people are still playing Cubelock. I mean waw man there's so many possibilities, how can you play the exact same deck everyone was already playing for 4 months ? It's beyond me, and it's not like the deck is way OP, I've been destroying it with Hadronox Druid and Elemental Shaman ahah. People have absolutely 0 imagination and play this until they can see what deck is 53% winrate when every other deck is only at 50% to spam this deck like tards. Whatever, keep coming at me giving me free ranks and boring games...
Second thing Baku aggro decks. I feel like they are sooo overhyped right now. They are good at hunting unrefined combo/control decks with their face plan but that's it. They seem so weak to me. Odd hunter in particular is such a shitty deck I do't understand why people play this. Odd rogue the same, it's sooo bad it amazes me that people find these deck either strong or interesting. Baku Paladin is the only one that seem kind of strong but it loses so hard to any good control deck ; it loses very hard even to midrange decks if you don't draw level up.
I think a lot of decks have potential (Control Warrior, Midrange Shaman, Hadronox Druid) but people seem to only like Baku ******** face decks xD so sad. Hopefully I still find a lot of people trying new things but in a week or two ? We'll see.
This is exactly what i meant - thanks for the post !
ofc it seems hard for a lot of ppl that a lot of games tend to be vs. cubelock or paladin , but hey, they can be countered
and as lunara said: "you cant win them all" --> biggest part of laddering is to choose which games you wanna win, and tech accordingly

Remember how long people were playing Pirate Warrior? That's the kind of players we're getting - if it's top, play it till it dies, because winrate.
I definitely like this meta, with how much design space Blizzard has given us, and not just forcing one archetype per class (I'm looking at you, freeze Shaman). While it is diverse, I have to agree with everyone else on every other point. Even/Odd Paladin is still really strong, and only so because of Cubelock. And fun fact, every standard Cubelock deck has NO new cards. Maybe 1 or 2, but that doesn't count. Probably the most fun and interesting GOOD deck is Tempo Rogue with burgle cards like Face Collector and Tess Greymane. Aside from that, 30%+ Pally, 30%+ Cubelock, at least 20% Spiteful Druid, 10% Control decks (like Baku Quest Warrior and Zoolock with Glinda Crowskin) and 10% other.
Surprisingly (not really), very few Shudderwock Shamans.
i tend to agree with you. This is the most diverse meta I've ever played, and nothing feels broken other than cubelock. For the first time in years I can play a game and say "he might be favored, but there's still a way I can come back without my opponent just getting the worst possible draws". Which before it was just like "op, Qed into that deck. Guess I can't win." "should've que'd my other deck that wins the rock paper scizzors."
People all think baku paladin is OP, but I win like 60% of the time vs it. I don't auto lose with any of my decks and I don't auto win either. It's great. My decisions matter! Well the meta's great until you Q into cubelock, then when they get the voidlord on turn 6, it's usually GG. But with the odd even mechanic, it's actually feasable to run a decent deck with weapon removal and tech cards without having to be the top tier deck, so you can actually counter it by destroying the skull the turn they play it!
Curious what deck you’re running that gives you a 60% win against Baku pally.
The Kobolds and Catacombs was the most diverse meta (I have played since beta). I played with all the classes at least two decks except Rogue and Chaman.
It is very soon for the conclusion, we only have been in this meta for a few days.
Positively surprised by the decks diversity of the meta? We’re 4 days into the new expansion and standard rotation, dude. If not now, when??? And still, I’m kind of disgusted by how the first instinct of players has mostly been finding ways of adapting pre-rotation tier-1 decks (aggroadin, cube lock, tempo mage) instead of even trying attempting anything new.
This. Putting a couple of Witchwood cards in a tier 1 staple deck is pathetic. I understand most of these people can’t build decks, but at least try something new. I’m sure they will once someone makes it and teaches them how to play it.
what i find really interesting is, that you can tech really well atm if you have certain problems with decks. Mindbreaker and Big Game Hunter , so as Silence and weapon removal are all really solid options!
That is what makes deckbuilding really interesting - and it can help very well diversing average from good players, and thats always nice to have in a game like that
Don't think this guy has even played in the first week of a new expansion before. Give it a week. Then watch the stale meta threads start. The longest shifting meta I can remember was Ungoro. In fact, all classes but warlock saw pretty regular/even play until KFT hit. There were even multiple archetypes in many classes. I don't see that happening here. Warrior is a joke. Druid is pretty much dead. Control Paladin is completely dead. Shaman has 1 meme deck. Pre-WW warlock, Paladin, priest, mage and Rogue decks (with some slight tweaks) are still better than anything new. Face hunter is always good in the first week when people are trying new decks, but then fades as it can't keep up with refinement.
Boys and Grils! I don't know what to say, but THANK YOU BLIZZARD! Afteer 1,5 years of very weird metas where only 3-5decks where really viable...
The Witchwood is sooo good as an expansion... Letz see what we got after 4 days of playtesting:
--> Classic Cards which havent been used since ages now see play again (Ironbeak Owl, Stormwind Champion, Raid Leader etc.) --> I had never so much fun and actually think about how to tech my decks since 3 years... we see Mindbreaker, Big Game Hunter, Spellbreaker, The Black Knight, Harrison Jones, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Gluttonous Ooze, and much more stuff --> Literally the Odd/Even design brought so many new and old cards back into the game, which is really cool, and it totally changes the way a game plays out imho --> tested 8 out of 9 classes (only Mage missing) and really every class seems playable to a certain distinct, although it looks like Priest and Shaman get some Problems --> But even them have something to go for - which was kinda missing in last expansions
--> We finally get the Golden CardGame Cycle going again: CONTROL Beats AGGRO beats COMBO beats CONTROL... and so on... --> and even MIDRANGE somewhere in between will find its place , im sure!
What are your Opinions?
I really dont get tired of testing some new stuff, and it really looks like every "CANCER" can be countered by another deck type - thats really cool! Possible most consistent is Cubelock but hey, thats just because it has the most strongest cards for now - But rogue destroys even that :D
Diverse, but the decks are braindead toxic. I would rather have only 3-4 of the same deck getting played if they actually took some brain power to win.

actually playing since nearly 4 years now , and i was last time that hyped in TGT as far as i can remember... The whole meanstreats cycle was toxic to the game imho - I liked Ungoro a lot, and Witchwood does the job even better. additionally i cant say that Warrior and Druid are "dead" , they work pretty well for me at around rank 5, but need to be a lil more work then the easy standard decklists everyone wants - thats for sure
I've been playing the binding of isaac rebirth more than HS, this exp sucks the game sucks after they added more rng and retarded mana cheating, reskinned charge is not a new mechanic and echo is boring af, also we lost enraged which was a good keyword, wtf are they doing with the game?

The day that cubelock gets nerfed we get a proper rotation
The ungoro rotation was more refreshing imo
I've no clue what I'm doing...
Diverse meta?
50% aggro paly (even, odd or secret)
50% cubelock variants (control or cube)

I play at rank 2 - 1 and most of my games are cubelock mirrors. Yes, cubelock player confirmed haha.

Why don't you all play casual?
“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”
I had a fun weekend playing lots of games. 33% were against aggro pala, the rest was really diverse and fun
played from rank 10 to 6. I guess it changes rank 5 to legend?!
haha iron beak hasn't seen play since it got nerfed otherwise it would probably still be staple

I'm sick of priest just erase that class it's cancer, now don't mind me I'm going to queue my cubelock into a priest a pally or another cubelock
