Boys and Grils! I don't know what to say, but THANK YOU BLIZZARD! Afteer 1,5 years of very weird metas where only 3-5decks where really viable...
The Witchwood is sooo good as an expansion... Letz see what we got after 4 days of playtesting:
--> Classic Cards which havent been used since ages now see play again (Ironbeak Owl, Stormwind Champion, Raid Leader etc.) --> I had never so much fun and actually think about how to tech my decks since 3 years... we see Mindbreaker, Big Game Hunter, Spellbreaker, The Black Knight, Harrison Jones, Acidic Swamp Ooze, Gluttonous Ooze, and much more stuff --> Literally the Odd/Even design brought so many new and old cards back into the game, which is really cool, and it totally changes the way a game plays out imho --> tested 8 out of 9 classes (only Mage missing) and really every class seems playable to a certain distinct, although it looks like Priest and Shaman get some Problems --> But even them have something to go for - which was kinda missing in last expansions
--> We finally get the Golden CardGame Cycle going again: CONTROL Beats AGGRO beats COMBO beats CONTROL... and so on... --> and even MIDRANGE somewhere in between will find its place , im sure!
What are your Opinions?
I really dont get tired of testing some new stuff, and it really looks like every "CANCER" can be countered by another deck type - thats really cool! Possible most consistent is Cubelock but hey, thats just because it has the most strongest cards for now - But rogue destroys even that :D
Wait...control beats aggro?? Have you even played the game in the last 3 years, including now? Aggro has had and continues to have the upper hand on control for a long time now. In most games and in past years of HS, when you boardclear an aggro deck once or even twice, then it's game over and control wins. But not in Hearthstone. WAY WAY too easy to refill the board these days. Hence control loses to aggro most of the time in HS.
Diverse? idk about that over 50 percent of ladder maybe more is aggro... and then cube lock beats most control decks. I would say its the same old same old hearthstone
I agree. It's frustrating as Hell to lose to an aggro deck in six turns but then satisfying as Hell when you control a matchup and win after 15 turns.
As for Mage, I'm having a lot of success with an elemental setup at the moment. If I can draw Frost Lich Jaina on turn 9 or 10 then it's almost a guaranteed win against anything. Obviously there are battles where surviving that long doesn't happen but all in all I'm very satisfied with the sheer variety of decks being used everywhere.
I even made an odd zoolock deck that seems to do well against most of the aggro decks. I'm loving it so far.

Both priest and warlock has had control variants that have suppressed aggro decks like Hunter from being too good over the past couple expansions. Only pally was able to somewhat deal with the amount of board clears both of those classes had.
The starting analysis is so wrong. It's too early and everyone is playing clunky decks, but when the meta will become stable then you'll see as always only 3-4 archetypes. The 80% of what you consider "having success with" will become unplayable in a bit more than a month and with a such small pool from which choose cards you won't even have so much flexibility.
I'm not saying that WW is bad but basically that it's too early to made such claims.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
Why ? The point of a rotation is to make the meta fresher
Right now near legend (Ranks 4-1 ) The only decks I face : Cubelock, Aggro Paladins ( Odd or Even) and Spiteful Decks
THE EXACT SAME META .
This rotation was a failure
i actually can not say the same things - i see new decks every 3rd game and spiteful decks and also aggro pala are really easy to counter if you know how - taunt druid e.g. is super strong vs paladin and let them cry in corner, and for spiteful... see above, i added big game hunter and get my ass of laughing when they play their 6 mana 4/4
sitting at around rank 5-3 there is really no diversity at all:D
dude pala, aggrorogue and cubelock, basically all there is. a few otk shamans and facehunters every now and then.
cubelock outvalues every other controldeck making them not even remotely viable. otk shaman also beats EVERY single controldeck + just breaks the game with the animations.
the game is hyperagressive, 41 games today, 46% beeing pala:D 27% shaman. warri dudu sitting at 5% each (1 game i guess):D
not complaining that the aggrodecks are way 2 broken, doing fairly decent vs them with my midrange/controlpala but ya, diversity looks different 2 me and the xpac is barely 3 days old:D
So you think the meta is settled in less than a week? You're going to be so disappointed in a month when the good decks are refined enough to settle on 4-5 top tier decks.
i tend to agree with you. This is the most diverse meta I've ever played, and nothing feels broken other than cubelock. For the first time in years I can play a game and say "he might be favored, but there's still a way I can come back without my opponent just getting the worst possible draws". Which before it was just like "op, Qed into that deck. Guess I can't win." "should've que'd my other deck that wins the rock paper scizzors."
People all think baku paladin is OP, but I win like 60% of the time vs it. I don't auto lose with any of my decks and I don't auto win either. It's great. My decisions matter! Well the meta's great until you Q into cubelock, then when they get the voidlord on turn 6, it's usually GG. But with the odd even mechanic, it's actually feasable to run a decent deck with weapon removal and tech cards without having to be the top tier deck, so you can actually counter it by destroying the skull the turn they play it!
This community is too salty. Can't enjoy anything lol..
Myself, I really enjoy this meta, there are so many decks to play and ideas to craft even if its not for rank. Everyone wants to get to legend asap so we see so much aggro and cube or spiteful type decks in the higher ranks. But the majority of players that aren't in the top 5-10% .. are creative and enjoy playing other things.
I've made over 12 decks that are new! I am just having fun trying out new things and testing different synergies and combinations.
Like all TCG, there will be 3-5 decks that rule em all. And of those 3-5, its a rock/paper/scissors. So for anyone to think Hearthstone will have 8-15 decks in tier 1 is ridiculous.
Just have fun and appreciate the new deck types and as the OP said, old basic/classic cards finally seeing play again (I'm looking at you Ironbeak Owl)!
WTF you talking about. You must be rank 20 player. This is most diverse meta? What? How lol. Go and rank to legend and then say "it was so diverse climb"

Maybe wise to reconsider this after 4 weeks

Yep, far too early to conclude anything about the meta since there isn't really a meta yet.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
This is the worst meta ever, that's my opinion

Play rank 5 and above ... 50% Aggro Pally, 20% Face Hunter 20% Cubelocks and 10% others... aggro hunter feels like an old zombie reborn not fresh...

"Do you smell something...burning?
I wouldn't call it diverse but I still like most of it - We just need a small Warlock and Paladin nerf and then we would be good imo
The meta hasn't settled yet people. Calm down.
Fuck cubelock

What? I thought Shaman and Priest ARE the problems
