I've been reading all over the forums that Baku paladin is one of the most dominant decks in the game, and it shows up in the meta too. However, I've been playing a lot of Genn paladin which consistently has beaten Baku Paladin with relative ease (other than when the opponent highrolls the living hell out of me) and has been very solid too against most other decks I've faced. Are both these decks around the same power level but Genn is better against Baku?

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.
Imo Even has way better overall card quality, (Call to Arms, Equality, Consecration, Glass Knight, Tarim, Tirion, all the 2 drops) but Baku’s Effect is stronger, so it’s really up to what you value more. I’d personally lean even, but it’s close either way.
i like Even Paladin better( prolly the only class where genn is worth it atm in standard), you have access to either aggro with a more dudish builds and Crystal Lion or to a more control build with the age old equality+consecration plus some late game threats, so you're harder to guess and mulligan for, also if you get tired from one of the even builds you can always switch around to the other, Odd is pretty much always aggro so, you have a clear weakness in that people know how to mulligan for you, also even is theoretically cheaper in the long run because it focuses on cards that you'd play in any paladin deck if possible, for example Call to Arms and Tarim, are amazing cards that you could play in non-even/odd builds thatare sure to come later, while Witches cauldron and level up are pretty much only useful in odd paladin.
Odd is much more cheaper, budget players need to craft/open only one legendary and good to go, the even need epic CtA + Tarim + Tirion.
what?? odd is a lot more expensive, Witch's Cauldron and Level Up! are epics that you won't use anywhere else, while even has cards you'd use on any paladin decks if possible

I never see the Cauldron in hundreds of games, not once.
You right about Level Up, it is the same than CtA in rarity, but the deck don't need any other legendary than Baku, even version need Genn/Tarim/Tirion.
HSReplay has both deck types at the top of the tier list, with Even Paladin having a slightly higher win rate, and a slight edge against Odd Paladin.
I got Genn Greymane from my pre-order packs, so I have been playing Even Paladin, and it has served me well so far, taking me from rank 15 to 13 with no losses (I do not play very often).
I imagine that Odd Paladin attracts more attention from the community because Baku the Mooneater has shown more versatility, with usefulness not just in Silver Hand Paladin, but in Aggro Hunter, Quest Warrior, and Mage. By contrast, the only other deck I have seen Genn Greymane in is Hand Warlock, which, to be fair, is showing a win rate to rival Cube Warlock.
I played a ton of Dude Paladin just before the release of Witchwood, and while that left me kind of tired of Paladin, I've read over the lists for each. Honestly, I think it's hard to say that one is better than the other. Odd lends itself toward aggro and needs to have a lot of dudes on board because the closer cards are things like Level Up! and Stormwind Champion. Even lends itself toward control, and sometimes you'll see slower cards like Spikeridged Steed or even The Lich King in the deck. Both are very powerful, but my preference would be even because I think the control style is a bit more fun, and you still get to use Call to Arms, which is super broken.
I can't break rank 10 with Odd, feel free to call me a noob but it can't get past Lock or Shudder. And Quest warrior beat me the one time I saw it. Priest and druid are doable, haven't even see a mage.
Even better question, what is the counter to even pally? I'm facing them about every other game I play, with aggro hunter sprinkled in. What is the best anti-aggro deck? I've tried taunt warrior and druid, but are way too slow.
I'd say even is more versatile and therefore more fun. You can go pretty aggressive with Lightfused Stegodon and Drygulch Jailor, for example. Or you can go more into control playstyle with Equality+Consecration and some high value cards like Tyrion and The Lich King. I've been working on my Genn Paladin list since the lauch of the expansion and I must say it demolishes almost everything. Even with cubelocks I'm at 50/50 which is pretty decent imo
From my experience even is a lot better. The only matchup I've run into where I was definitely bound to lose was against a rush warrior that didn't let me keep anything on the board to buff. Other than that, I've been able to beat everything else with no problem. Cubelock is a little tricky but I'm still over 50% versus it.

I had the same question. I will craft Baku because he seems more fun and maybe I can use him in a hunter deck too. I don't even play competitive so...
Even has many more high quality cards. The turns should feel stronger overall with the "swingy" even cards.
Odd has a better hero power, so it can be very strong against decks that can't constantly deal with a large board.
Overall from what I've played against, even has seemed a bit better.

What I don't understand is - why must paladin go odd/even? Is regular dude paladin with both odd and even cards really inferior?

Hey. Hey. Do you wanna buy a funnel cake?

My vote goes to Even too, lots of powerful cards. Call to Arms plus Sunkeeper is just great.
I tried odd the other day and couldnt BUY a win. I haven't tried even yet but hsreplay already shows even pally as #1 deck sooo there's your answer.
I have played both decks and have had marginally more success with the odd version by only about 3 wins.
