I'll post here what i posted in another thread containing the same subject.
Your chances of winning are greatly increased if you play aggro or Baku Hunter. I'm not saying it's an easy win, considering they run lots of board clears, but you might be able to finish them off before they can do any of their crazy battlecries.
In 4 years I never even unlocked all the Basic Hunter Cards. Some of us don't like playing aggro.
How is it fun to play against exodia mage? Everytime I see that quest it is a instant lose for a control player like me.
Not necessarily, though it's certainly unfavored I've won by picking off Tony with either Dirty Rat or Death Grip. Dirty Rat has rotated but Death Grip is still a possible solution, though entirely random.
Nah it will not be the "quickest nerf in history" the deck is actually not very reliable. I have seen shudderwock shamans on ladder and its crazy when it goes off but loses hard when it draws badly or gets pressured.
I think the animation really takes a long time though, that animation time does need a hotfix.
I haven't seen the biggest problem IMO mentioned yet, and that is that you don't really need the OTK.
If you somehow miss lifedrinker and you are on a clock, you can still play the combo with murmuring ely, grumble and whatnot, and it will still take several minutes to complete the turn.
Of course that won't do much, but players will either stick around and wait for it to finish or they will leave the match, and both options are extremely disgusting.
And aggro decks aren't necessarily a counter, shaman has healing wave and, throughout the history of Hearthstone, if there is a deck whose only counter is an aggro deck, they will play a bunch of anti-aggro tools, which there are plenty of in this rotation.
Still, even if the animation is fixed, Shudderwock is still a problem IMO. Just from a design perspective. Do you think Yogg-saron used to limit Blizz's design space? ShudderWakeMeUpWhenThisEnds is way worse.
I don't mind the deck itself but just the endless animations that go with it... It literally takes 2 to 3 minutes to know if you survived or not the turn.
When you can only play 10-15 minutes session it a real pain.
I just insta conceed when Shaman hits turn 10 now, I save a lot of time and nerves.
It’s as simple as this... it’s not fun. It’s limiting the number and types of decks that will be played, and for the first time in 3 years has me considering putting the game down. Something should be done, both to the animation and the design.
What is your definition of fun? A card that can make you miss your turn, who has no solid counter play other than just going full aggro and killing your opponent? That is "having fun"? Just like the old Quest Rogue, only worse because both aggro and control can lose easily to this. I guess you are the type who sees it from one point of view. It's fun to inflict it upon others but when you yourself face it, you probably get annoyed too. The card was a mistake, or at least the execution was.
When I said fun, I was talking about having fun with the expansion overall. I'm not okay with the animations taking that long either.
If this is op quest mage was op. Quest mage even had better stall mechanics with freezes and ice blocks. How is that less cancerous. The only thing i dislike about shudderwock is the animation time, although i must say it was funny to see it for the first time with the benny hill theme together.
Quest mage could be stopped in it's tracks with Dirty Rat or Death Grip, this deck has no counters except aggro
Dark Possession will be played in every controllock due being able to pop lackey and enable spellstone.
Shudderwock otk will be enjoyed for one or two weeks, then cried about until nerfed like Raza/Anduin
Some form of aggro pally will have the highest winrate.
The salt thread and new ones will blow up the forum before the first week is over.
I would like to point out you were wrong. We didn't make it one to two weeks lol. Anyhow, I am generally not a fan of aggro pally but this odd pally + witches cauldron is just so cool :D I like elemental mage as well! Rush is fun, and echo/thief rogue is also fun. First deck I made was shudderwok otk deck, won first 3 games handily, immediately felt dirty. So now I run a shudderwok deck that doesn't specifically go for the OTK with corpse takers. Animation speed still needs to be sped up though.
Its funny seeing people defending the game as if Shudderwock isn't a HUGE problem. You're probably not even home from your 9-5 jobs to be able to see just how bad it is.
The animation along with some card interaction inconsistencies (ie copies casting spells when even Yogg couldn't do that) are the only real problems. Anybody complaining that it is a problem for the fact that it is an OTK is blatantly on a combo hunt and who most likely ignore that OTK is a legitimate playstyle that is needed in the game.
This is going to be the quickest nerf in HS history.
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
Just one day into the new expansion and already so much hatred for a meme card??
Sure, the duration of the animations is annoying, but I don't think the Wock-Deck will be competitive enough to last.
(what do you do, if you just don't draw him?? There is no way to force that, so it's as always a matter of chance...)
I personally think it's a fun card and HS should have more of that kind!
Don't be to bitter - just enjoy the show! Try to have fun with the new cards! (I do...)
Remember to do your part and rope all cancer Shamans as much as possible.
If they're going to waste your time, waste theirs.

dont like shudderwock, play aggro, the deck losses super hard to it
𝔅𝔶 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔢𝔩𝔢𝔪𝔢𝔫𝔱𝔰 𝔠𝔬𝔪𝔟𝔦𝔫𝔢𝔡!
Cancer is beyond description.
Hearthstone is in desperate need of a new lead designer in my opinion.
Shudder inst that good. Its like archmage mage. They need allt of pre-work to get it right.
Im more annoyed to loose to paladin with their new shit or rouge with all their echi shit

Should i craft this right now if they decide to nerf so i get refund value + nerfed card?
The animations are quite annoying indeed.
Only thing that I hope happens is that they optimize mobile so it can actually handle animations. As of now shudderwock kind of breaks mobile.
