So ya... I don't mind exodia win conditions. Quest mage was fun to play against even.... but holy moly is Shudderwock a different kinda of cancer. Did they even play test it!?! It ropes you and keeps casting battlecrys on your turn... this is going to be a long two years of hearthstone....
One would think that they would be able to fix this in all those years. Opponents card animation stealing your own turn is around for such a long time.

Nobody is ticked off about the battlecry itself. People are more annoyed that the animation takes fucking forever to run its course. If you drop that card after carefully planning the battlecries for 9 turns, more power to you. But please, Blizzard, fix it so that it doesn't take 10 minutes just to watch all that happen. Might as well go play another game by that point.

agreed. this is pure cancer. As it takes like 10 minutes with all the animation and there is nothing you can do except play a face deck to counter it.
Probably the worst deck in Hearthstone history. This will kill eSports as it is not fun to watch. patron warrior was interesting as it was a high skill ceiling deck. But this takes forever, gets boring very fast, and wastes a ton of your time / phone/iPad battery with all the animation. Will make ppl quit in droves.
hell, after playing vs shaman with a control warrior and dying after like 35 minutes, I felt like quitting.
the fix IMO would be to nerf Grumble and make his effect not a battlecry.
How was Exodia Mage more fun to play against tho? Getting your dreams crushed by 2-3 ice blocks and infinite freezing effects is pretty much as ''cancerous'' in my book..

I'm a shaman player... I have a shudderwock deck... i feel dirty playing it atm. It really isnt fun to play against at all. Like... pirate warrior would be more fun to play against.
Its funny seeing people defending the game as if Shudderwock isn't a HUGE problem. You're probably not even home from your 9-5 jobs to be able to see just how bad it is.
So I have been playing around with a miracle/tess rogue and faced only one shudderwock shaman so far. I had him at 2hp and eviscerate in hand, and he did the otk. I was a bit pissed but that's how the deck goes. Personally, I don't think the deck is unfair, and you can beat it with highrolling and most aggro decks. All I can say for now it's a great deck but I kinda hope we figure out a great counter 'cause I don't want it to be nerfed either.

Exodia mage has counters though, ice block had counters and tech cards though while rare, did counter the uninteractivity to an extent.
Without Dirty Rat, there is no way to counter Shudderwock which means there is no way to stop the OTK. That is fine to an extent, but the animation time is something that has always plagued hearthstone, Nozdormu had to be changed because of it.
Both camps are annoying. The ''nerf shudderwock'' camp is annoying, and the ''nerf this community'' camp is annoying.
As of now I don't think shudderwock is overpowered. It's annoying as f*ck but similar to quest mage. It's pretty easy to overpower them.
That being said animation is something they should fix. Animations seeping into the opponent's turn have been a problem since launch (looking at YOU, Nozdormu) and the patch has been way overdue. They should've fixed that a long time ago.
Early available statistics suggest though that it is the lowest winrate deck of the current "meta". Obviously everything is very early and people are still learning to play it.
Tbh the animation of shudderwock pauses the opponents turn timer for its duration. So turn destruction isnt an issue in that regard.
The only thing that makes the animations so long is that murmuring elemental interacts directly with shudder. Creating 5-10 min segments of animation spam under certain conditions.
I have no issues being killed by the combo, i do have issues with the combo taking 10 mins to resolve :P.

It's more of a problem of HS devs not knowing how to code the animation timings. But hey, what can you expect from a small indie company?

Now this is where the unique effect of Dirty Rat comes handy, sadly it's rotated and the only similar effect is Howlfiend & Treachery combo.
Wish they make a mechanic like Dirty Rat, already missed the card.
