We all have been there, opening packs and you get graced with a legendary card. Oh the joy of the sound when it opens, the noise, the voice - then you look closer, and....its that legendary. For me recently, it was Sonya Shadowdancer. Now unfortunately my Rogue decks are severely lacking updates (I believe my decks are post Patches nerf) and I do have some cards to work up a deck, but boy would I have wanted a different one.
What time did you get that legendary and ended up being one that was so so, could be used, but not really?

"In a world without gold, we might have been heroes!" - Blackbeard, AC4
This past Sunday I pulled two Legendaries from Whispers of the Old Gods; was very excited about it, but...Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and Shifter Zerus? Gross :/ RNGesus and I have a fraught relationship, and I'm pretty sure this was me being punked.
@TC Sonya's pretty good; you might not have the resources to take advantage of her at the moment, but she's far from a bad card :)

Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
Well this story goes back, way back to the ancient times of... 2016. That is when i opened my first legendary and guess what? It was golden King Krush. Back than i still didn't know much about the game so i just benched the card and moved on with my life. Few months have passed and i open golden Ragnaros oh boy was he shiny. So naturally to show off my wealth i crafted Hunter deck that combined both of my golden legendaries. It was one of the best fealings to drop golden Rag on turn 8 and than golden King Krush on turn 9 and instantly i would hear the infamous "Wow". Since than i've learned a thing or two and Mr. Krush is now Tyrone and my boy Rag was turned into 4800 dust spread through many cards after first HoF rotation. May they both rest in piece. :'(
I was pretty disappointed when I got tinkmaster overspark. Also one question, how do I make card names change to the color of the rarity and show the card when clicked on this website?

You have to put (card) and (/card) around the name, but replace the ()s with []s.

At least we are not living in the dark ages of opening legendaries one already own :) Damm how many duplicates have I dusted through time...
We just live in the slightly-less dark age of pulling the same Epics over and over lol. I still don't own a good portion of the Classic Epics, but I've pulled Ancient of Lore like six times. I've been playing since Vanilla D:

I feel you pain... But honestly I feel that having the same rule applying to Epics would take be a boring way to go. Blizzards might as well just make a whole new business model for the game instead as it would take some of the fundemental concepts of a CCG away. (more so then with legendaries)
I would be perfectly fine with not getting any duplicates at any rarity level until you have all cards of a set at that level. There is no reason for digital cards to follow the same rules as paper cards; in-game a lot of things happen that would be impossible with paper cards, so why not in the collection as well? And given how many packs it takes to get all epics and legendaries of a set, I don't think it would even make that much of an impact on their profit.
Getting back on topic: Sonya is a decent card; maybe not the card you were hoping for, but you could have gotten much worse. In K&C alone, I got The Runespear, Temporus and King Togwaggle, cards that are not completely useless but in general your decks will be better without them. I think that most legendaries aren't that great, but the few that are good can create huge swings. Since that's a minority, it's more likely you'll have to craft them than that you pull them from a pack.
Save Sonya. While she isn't that useful in the current meta, her ability is ridiculously powerful and could become seriously OP in future expansion (e.g. bouncing echo minions).
My first legendary was Lorewalker Cho -at first I was devastated...but the jokes on you blizzard as I play for the memes and Cho has provided some good ones (including a Deathlord with over 6000 health!)
Though I did ladder from 10-5 using it in a midrange Paladin deck one season. It's not the worst reload in the world when you run double Spikeridged and double BOK.

The last two expansions, we all got a free class legendary (DK and weapon). As a mostly F2P player (sorry to my pure F2P comrades but the preorder this time was just too good to pass up) I was really excited to get one of the new special legendaries. Each time I was looking forward to getting that new legendary that could anchor an awesome deck. So, in the lead up to each of their release dates, I ranked the possibilities from 'Awesome' to 'Alright' to 'Ok' to 'Bad luck.' I thought, surely I would get an Alright one once, or at least an OK one. NOPE! so far I am 2 for 2 on 'Bad luck:' Valeera the Hollow and The Runespear. Don't get me wrong Valeera ain't that bad of a card... if you play certain versions of Rogue (which I didn't and still don't)... AND in comparison, it is one of the 2 worst DKs and currently the worst DK on Hearthpawn's Tier list, so Bad Luck. And don't even get me started on the Crapspear... I had really low personal expectations coming in (I wasn't super impressed by any weapon but most were Alright to OK), I know I just didn't want... ya I got the only weapon I had no desire for. The free 400 dust was nice, though. Any guesses what kind of free class legendary I anticipate opening the TW drops????

Have tried that literally 100 times the last four years. It happens every set and we are living with the fact just fine :)
