I look at the game in the same way that I tend to look at my work. "Improve every day. And even when you get it right, analyze where you could have been better." So, to that end, I'm eyeing two of my weakest classes and thinking about how I can get better at them. Sadly, Warrior doesn't seem to be in the cards both because I lack a strong collection for the class, and its standing in the meta is poor. (And that's being at least a little charitable.)
I've run a respectable Miracle Rogue list for a bit. It's not the most competitive in today's meta. In fact, VS says it's downright awful for ladder, and I'm sadly inclined to agree. And because I lack both Sonya Shadowdancer and Patches the Pirate, I don't have the uber combo that would even make Quest Rogue a little more viable. Yes, we can do without it, and sure I can spend for Sonya.
But, bottom line, with Patches heading out of the Standard meta where I do 90%+ of my play, I don't want to burn 1600 Dust on him. It was principle for a long time, and now it's just return on investment.
So, Hearthpwn hive mind; Can Tempo rogue even work with everybody's least favourite pirate? He's a huge swing, and that's what makes me wonder if it's even worth burning some dust up on a class that I have, largely, not been good at. But as many pros and commentators remarked during HCT this year, Rogue seems to be perennially strong. So I think it's time for me to stop being bad at it beyond Miracle, and learn.

Depends on what you mean by "viable". Is the deck still playable if you're looking to play some games with it at the lower ranks? Sure. Is it still a good choice to climb to legend? Not really.
It should still be decent I think. You'll just need to go for some more aggressive picks (featuring Cold Blood, Argent Squire, Argent Commander, and Dark Iron Dwarf). I'll still try to make it work because tempo rogue has always been my go-to deck since the very early days. I might even tech in a Defias Cleaner for a third silence to try to get through Voidlords haha.
Maybe I'm just being optimistic though.

If you want to add Cold Blood and another charge minion, wouldn't Sap be better at 2 mana? If you want to get through for lethal, I doubt a 6 mana 5/7 would be preferable.
As an update i got to rank 10 but i also picked up an edwin and replaced 1 deadly with him
Thanks man. I've actually made a derivative of Aiverson's that came up in the spotlight. But for me, because I didn't have him (and now really don't want him as the nerf is coming), I did -1 Patches the Pirate, +1 Xaril, Poisoned Mind.
I'm really looking forward to giving it a a proper shot in February.

Hey guys,
I look at the game in the same way that I tend to look at my work. "Improve every day. And even when you get it right, analyze where you could have been better." I play this
Prince and Tempo Rogue can definitely be viable without Patches, provided you have all the other Tempo cards.
Obviously, any Patches-less Rogue is worse than their more complete lists, but the deck stays strong nonetheless.

Without patches and creeper the deck is way more weak than before
Top deck is cheat
