I currently enjoy it but that is because I am a Warlock player and I have been enjoying playing Control Warlock/Handlock and brick walling most Aggro decks. It has been a slow grind obviously but that is normal for me as a player as I almost exclusively play Control style decks as Aggro decks aren't my thing.
I am shocked how this still goes over your heads -.-
Right, the government of Birma denied the UN-claim about Rohinya etnic cleansing as "subjective."
When rightfull criticism is being put away as subjective, you know you have a point. Well then, let me put it distinguishable: You have fun that is mindlessly aggressive and.... fun that is a result of a higher skillfloor, harder win condition, more balance, diversity and a slower meta.
Since 80% of all Tier 1 decks over several expansions and current HCT- line-ups are mindless, you might understand where critizism about dullness, skillessness and imbalance comes from. But I'm afraid you still won't get the point mr. artikel writer for heartstoneplayers.com
If you relate a card game to a genocide or rape or whatever, you always sound kind of limited as it is a weak argument as such as people naturally agree with your point, no matter if you're right or wrong.
Besides this, you're kind of right that many decks are mindless, but I'll guess that's immanent in a card game with a 30 cards deck slot. Furthermore I'd tend to agree with you that most points can be analysed objectively, but especially fun is a mostly subjective aspect as you can also enjoy a bad game. As the thread's title is about enjoying, it is a subjective aspect.
My point with the comparison is to make people think about their statements. People often use 'subjective' as a way to look intelligent, while not having any counter arguments. Besides comparisons with the real world has its prudency. You can't maintain that it is just a game where principles of fainess, reason, truth and justice doesn't apply.
I really can't enjoy a bad game where 80% of the meta is mindless agression. And I really can't agree with you on a relation between mindlessness and the fact that it is immanent to a card game.
Mindlessness is choice, has everything to do with design choices by devs, therefore willed meta-politics. The meta is not cosnstructed by players, it is just executed. To conclude, if 80 % is mindless, that is what devs want. Apparently those who buy the most packs are at large the face = place types.
I rarely see this amount of salt pouring out of someone.
Fun is subjective. YOU don't find ''mindless 80% of the meta'' fun. That is YOUR opinion on it. Person A might agree with you. Person B might not. Person C might agree with person B. No one is in the right here, it all comes to personal preferences. You aren't entitled to anyone shifting their preferences and their definition of fun to what you deem fun because, at the current state of the game, you're not having fun. No one owes you jack shit and it is no ones duty to accept your views as ''the right ones'' and try to make the game better for you. That is called being an entitled brat.
Hearthstone is a game that has more players than most of the other games out there. It is among the biggest games ever. Clearly there are people who are enjoying it. There are people who are enjoying this ladder. There are people who are enjoying playing only tavern brawls. There are people who enjoy playing meme decks. There is an audience for each aspect of the game. The reason why you fail to see that audience is because they are not online as much, or at all, as we are. We make a very, very minor but vocal part of the community. When this minor part is unhappy it is easy to assume that everybody hates the game because you can't see the other side of the community.
In short, yes, there are people who are enjoying the ladder. Probably more people than we can phantom. Some people like the same things as we do, some like different things, it is just the way that the world works. Now you can continue to be a sad, angry child and frown because people aren't agreeing with your viewpoint, which to you is obviously the only correct one, or you can come to an agreement that different people like different things and that you're not entitled to having them adjust their fun just so that you can have yours.
It's ok, but casual is preferable. The ladder rewards beyond the cardbacks are paltry, and in casual you can just concede/quit whenever with no drawbacks. I am looking forward to the ladder revamp and I am hoping (but not optimistic) it is more than just cloud talk.

Ive often wondered how anyone at Blizz. , could possibly think the rewards are decent. They are laughable.
I do play ladder to about rank 15 then i go casual.
The ladder is ok but I couldn't do it every day. There are so many more fun games to play which include rpg and dungeon mappers. I ended up leveling in Wild and trolling in Standard.
I actually had an amazing night in ranked last night. I was playing my dragon rogue and encountered only 1 tier 1 deck out of ten matches (a razakus priest, which I crushed!)
I think that as fatigue sets in for those climbing ladder, they relax and play other more fun decks. I'll attribute some of my enjoyment to my 90% win rate for the night, but it was cool seeing some unusual decks facing off.

Look at this thing and let me know what you think!
But why play ladder if you dont want to compete? Do you see Formula drivers using fiat 500 to race and then complaining about loosing?
If you want meme games go casual, people do play weird stuff there, not just meta decks.
have you recently tried casual (either standard or wild)? I do. I usually play out-of-meta decks (in standard, a Woecleaver Warrior, and in wild a sort of infinite Reno Mage), and what you play against is basically what you find while playing ranked. Face Hunters, Zoolocks, Tempo Rogues, Big Spell Priests, Secret Mages, Cubelocks, and so on.
Allow class ban, and creative decks could be viable.
Sure seems like the answer to a lot of the complaints is right there staring at us. We are supposed to get all excited about the Pro's playing a format that us scrubs can't? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

It's been so long since they talked about this that I thought I was delusional. Thanks for reassuring me. Unless you're delusional as well, the way we all are when it comes to good news regarding this game...
I still say make a Muti level division ranking system, where you have to earn each level and each season people have something to strive for.
People talk about reaching legend as nothing, but a Muti division, your fighting to stay in or not to fall out. Similar to the English Premier league, and it's lower level divisions. It would take away the grind, replace it with jockeying for position.
Pro and top level players would become more well known, and also something for people lower to thrive to be.
The flip side of the board, new unexperienced players, would face other similar skill level, until they get experience and able to move up.
Works good for everyone, imagine making top teir, and fighting to stay in keeping your spot, something to play for each season. Not just getting the cardback and saying it's just not worth it.
A chance for the best to prove they are the best, and being dethroned by unknown x player.
I still enjoy the ladder... that is until I don't. I generally don't ladder to 15. If find too much of a grind and I've hit cold streaks too much; going from 16 almost 15 to 19 in 45 min after grinding up for 3 hours really puts me off. So I get up to at least 20, get my monthly card back and I'm done with ladder. So I enjoy till I don't.
I am shocked how this still goes over your heads -.-

Your arguments stick to the field Brode sets for you. Your within that boundary thinking doesn't dare to cross that outline. That is your problem. Thinking like a flatlander. No dept available.
I wonder what you write to entertain the Spikies, as Brode does; yes indeed the 80% that this game is design for. Mindless constructed creatures, doped by easy winfix they got provided by Brode and consort with one reason: buy as many pack as possible. Skill? well try the cealing.
So you think this is my opinion. News for you: I'm not interested in opinion. I'm not even interested in my own. It simply doesn't count. Facts speak for themselves. Your way of reasoning depicts a world were people can diver with opinion despite the facts screaming in your face. They have the right to be gullible if that what you mean. But facts don't lie, even though you pour it over with fake news.
Decisionism of Brode doesn't justify a card game that is unbalance, undiverse and aggressive as it is. The masses might enjoy that. No doubt. Don't deny that. Justice demands balance. There's non and it is kept this way. That's bad faith. As long as it is accepted it will continue. There is a world as it is and a world that should be.
In Hearthstone we are a long way from enlightenment. Keep writing about the dark ages and don't strive for progress. You will not be the one who will bring change about. Hiding behind relativism: your opinion, my opinion, doesn't negate the moral obligation to battle injustice. It separates those who follow from those who bring change about. Even for a simple card game
You've never played a physical card game on a competitive level, haven't you?
There is ''injustice'' because you don't like the way that the game is made. I've never seen a more deluded opinion and here you can find a lot shit being posted by minute.
''Game is unbalanced! Game is too aggressive!'' welcome to every card game out there. It is the nature of the beast. You can try, and you can try, but competitive card games will always be unbalanced and aggressive. Look at MtG. One unbalanced mechanic, two tier 1 decks. That was the metagame for 6 sets until the recent bannings which will result in another 2 tier 1 decks. You talk about change can't be reached. There can't be perfect balance where there are no ''mindless'' decks. The second a deck becomes popular it will be deemed ''mindless'' anyhow. I really wonder what HS decks aren't mindless to you?

Yea, I agree with you. I've never seen so much salt and hatred directed towards a card game designer. Brode this, Brode that lol
I think they should change ranked rewards, instead of tying it to a certain rank threshold, they should just change it to win x games per season, ranked or unranked

I dont know what was so hard to understand for him about "I like something cuz..." type of statements being subjective... "subjective" in short: your opinion on something... Opinion is the key word... There are no facts, no numbers, just what you think about the certain thing...
Perfect example: music. "But dude this or that song got million dislikes on youtube" ... "Yea but I like it..."
There is this fascinating thing about mankind: nobody is the same. People have different tastes, opinions, and since the question was about enjoyment, and reasons behind the answer, the topic is about subjective opinion...
Ps.: I dont know why its such a popular thing now to seem really smart, and throw all the bigboy words you happen to know out there... Im a vet, but I dont write down all the disease names (disseminated intravascular coagulopathy, there you go boss... #NoticeMeSenpai) I happen to know to seem smarter...
