For the past week I've been trying out various handbuff lists posted here to little avail. This is unfortunate since I love the idea of playing that sweet sweet value each turn. In my experience in around 30+ games, priest and warlock seem to be the biggest annoyances with their seemingly infinite board clear and single target removal. I also have a hard time holding off aggro since the grimestreet outfitter gives practically no board presence and throwing in rallying blades leaves me with little to no board to counter a bazillion murlocks on turn 3. Throwing in classic removal like concecrate and equality removes potential handbuff targets too, and adding in wild pyro + equality combo leaves me with a wasted buffed pyro quite often since it gets nuked too.
I'm just wondering if anyone has come accross a good list which will stomp if played correctly (under no illusion that i always play perfectly). I really love this playstyle and especcially comboing val'anyr with dopplegangsters/chaingang.
I mean, in the current meta Paladin has some of the best decks by win rates. You can look here (Disguised Toast) and see that both Aggro and Murloc Paladin are top decks right now. So, if you want to play Paladin and climb standard ladder, those are fine decks to start working toward. They also aren't particularly difficult decks to play.
I can't help you much beyond that, without knowing what deck you are playing and at what rank you are playing. Sounds like you might be playing an off meta deck, which is fine if you like building your own decks (which can be more effective than meta decks if you're good at it), but if you just want any Paladin deck that will help you climb, the decks from the link I posted are the way to go.
Hope that helps. If you have any follow up questions feel free to ask.
Sorry, only braindead aggro or murlocs are good nowadays. I myself am playing some control buffadin, but with no success. Well, actually some success, since I usually stop at rank 20 (to play some memes and homebrews of course) and now I got to 18 in a win streak. Got wrecked pretty hard after that, but that's because I tried C'thun Warrior a bit.
I think that paladin overall lacks good removals, thus making him pretty much unplayable in anything other than aggro or midrange.
Thanks for the reply. I just decided that after a week and a half of scouring the net and testing different versions, handbuff blows. It's fun but it just can't get on the board, stay on the board or clear the board. Last night was the final straw after yet another turn 4 aggro beatdown. Now I'm back to midrange. Screw handbuff, it's all about board buff.
Thanks for replying. I didn't realize how I didn't put handbuff in the title since that's the deck type I was talking about. This meta has too many fast beatdown decks and too much board clear from lock and priest. You get no value from keeping stuff in hand or from playing it on the board since everything just croaks. I'm moving on to something that works.
You could play murloc paladin for ranked because if you want to play a high cost paladin as we play some time ago you will lose many matches because other decks have removals and you just have equality and pyro or consecration and that is expensive compared to other removals. What can I say, at this point of the year I just see aggro paladins using expensive spells on the minions.
The playstyle you are talking about I really like too, with Han'Cho and dopplegangster combos but the true is that it's too slow and havent a good winratio.

Yeah, I can't argue with that man. Fast, spammy paladin seems like the only to get under all the removal out there so I suppose I have to resign to doing that if I actually want to climb. With any luck we will have the old days back where control/mid-range pali can be played to great success. Its like, we used to be able to play chess with pali and now we're playing flappy bird :(
Paladin has great removal, they just dont have a good win condition compared to raza and cubelock so they always lose in the late game, not to mention they still have no good card draw and every control deck needs card draw
You forget rallying blade and doomsayer which are great removale and paladin has lots of healing which can take it to end game, geting to endgame isent the problem Paladin has no win condition on par with raza and cubelock
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now you went full retard. Remember, never go full retard. It's bad for your health.
Doomsayer is a neutral card, additionally it needs some sort of protection to even trigger. Try to slam it on the board when your opponent has lethal. I dare you. Rallying Blade... Yes! Of course anybody would like to hit that 30/30 mean minion with a weapon. Nothing particularly weird here, great play and stuff. Yes, I know, I exaggerated, but even a 6/6 minon is bad to remove this way. You need to attack it two times plus your opponent gets a turn to attack with him. That's like 18 damage to face, so how is it a great removal?
Yeah, great heals 10/10. They are all either too inefficient or make you skip a turn doing nothing. Yes, some of those cards are not totally garbage, like Ragnaros, Lightlord or Truesilver Champion, but how are they gonna carry you to the endgame (that's the correct spelling; mind your grammar a bit more, will you?)?
Well Thijs is playing a OTK version atm. It’s quite fun and can theoretically beat every archetype. I also toyed around with it ,but compared to other decks lik Raaza Priest or Cubelock it feels kinda fair ,it doesn’t have the highroll potential that just automatically wins you the game.

I saw that actually and it looks hella fun. Unfortunately I dont have the cards for it currently. On the other hand, I started playing N'Zoth pali to great success so far. 59% win rate over 46 games in ranked. Playing low on the ladder but everyone has meta decks anyway so I think it's a pretty decent gauge.
Here's a handbuff list I have been using for the last week or two, and the deck I have had the most fun with this expansion. I think there could certainly be some changes but it was doing pretty well between ranks 5 - 1 at the end of the December season. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1015889-keleseth-handbuff
Best moment was dealing 20 damage from hand with 6/6 patches, 11/7 Leeroy and Rallying blade to kill cubelock on turn 8 .
Anyone that says Paladin has great removal hasn't gone up against 12 health minions. Bar Tarim and Equality, impossible to remove assuming you are even on board (if not even, you're winning anyway). Even 7~8 health minions are a total pain to remove. (e.g. Buffed Crypt Lord, Lich King, Voidlord)
It feels wasteful to break out Equality for just one minion (since once you use it your opponent then starts dropping a bunch of stuff) and it also weakens your board if you have one significantly. Tarim is a little better but is a legendary and a 1-of. Single target removal as a Paladin is a joke. AoE as a Paladin requires you to combo, always, which is stupid in a class with bad card draw (if you arent playing Aggro and are playing Divine Favour).
Sadly right now aggro is the only meta archetype for Paladin. The lack of adequate tools for a slower archetype makes it really difficult for Paladin to have any sort of meaningful late game deck right now imo.

Great removal? Are you kidding me?
1) Wild Pyromancer + Equality
2) Consecration
And that's it. How do you even think those removals are great? One is a two card combo and second one is simply not enough.

Heals that paladin has:
Guardian of Kings, Holy Light, Truesilver Champion, Lay on Hands, Ivory Knight, Benevolent Djinn, Forbidden Healing, Ragnaros, Lightlord.
