Nope not tier 1 but maybe low tier 2? Still gets crushed by shaman and paladin so badly I can't see hunter being a significant part of the meta. Definitely a huge improvement over how bad hunter was though.
I'm kinda wondering if every shaman put in lightning storm now for board clear even in evolve shaman decks. Because the regular list does not run them but every Shaman I went against so far had lightning storm, some had Hex, some even put in volcano now to counter Bittertides.
I know I run two copies regardless. Whenever I play shaman I always run lightning storm.
95% my games today were Priests and Hunters and like 2 evolve Shamans. Think I'm taking a break from playing this game seriously. Every game is almost the same, every deck of these classes are near identical.
... and how exactly is that different to the months and years before? xD
Yesterday i went from rank 10 to rank 6 with no losses with ez when playing hunter so it is definatly strong atm! Have bearshark on curve and Priest cry in vain!
That because midrange hunter is viable against highlander priest and mage decks. His natural enemies Druid and pirate warrior got weaker so it is normal to see too many midrange hunter in the meta but Evolve shaman is still stronger than Midrange hunter tho it is weak against highlander priest + mage decks so at the end hunter is one of the rock paper scissor element right now.
There are so many hunters right now in ranked standard and I feel like it performs pretty damn well.
Is hunter tier 1 or I'm the only one who thinks this is possible?
Thanks!
You can make a pretty solid Hunter deck for ~1500 dust, so it's a good starting deck for f2p's, plus it's almost braindead while being flexible with including a secret package etc. Simple and cheap aggro decks will always be popeular and Hunter has been this way for eons :P
Thing is, it's not tier 1. Probably it seems powerful because most people don't know how to properly counter it - you mulligan hard (HARD) for any cheap aoe/burst/removal to control the board in the first 3 turns and the game is pretty much over. I'm playing Evolve DK Shaman atm (surprisingly fun deck, itched me to try it since my 2nd DK was Thrall) and I've never lost to any Hunter. If I get Maelstrom Portal in mulligan or 1st draw it's already gg.
It's T1 in the sense that it's really good against the other high-meta decks but when people [streamers & their stripped-of-creativity fanbase] start playing things like paladin and shaman it's going to drop again.

Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
Since the nerfs, Hunter has been among the top 3 performing classes, but it's slowly slipping down as the top decks get more refined. Of course the current data does not distinguish between different archetypes in the same class, which kinda helps classes with one obvious archetype (Hunter, Shaman) and drags down those who experiment with different builds (Warrior, Priest, Rogue).
I'd wager, once an actual report goes live, that Hunter will stabilize at high tier 2. Solid deck to punish most Control lists, but not tier 1 material. We'll see how it goes this week.
Hunters are just as bad as ever tho. I mean their plays and n00b mistakes during the games. I love farming wins off all the hunters on the ladder atm :)
Hunter have a good MU against Priest but Priest numbers are slowly dropping and decks like Tempo Rogue get more popularity. Temporoge beats hunter hard an keeps it out of T1 Imho.

Murloc Paladin is like 50/50, it's just about who gets board faster most of the time. If hunter techs Hungry Crabs this M/U is super easy for him.
Control Paladin is nonexisent, because it's super awful vs Razakus.
To topic:
Just watch some RDU, he told so many reasons why hunter was 3rd best deck before nerfs and how strong it's right now, that i don't have time writing all of these.

Paladin is 50/50 vs Hunter, that is also my experience as a Midrange Paladin player. It's funny how people are constantly trashing Hunter while I'm facing them all the time in the 15-5 Ranks in the past few months. Hunter was always a viable choice for people on a budget and pretty much underestimated by all, IMHO.
Imho Hunter is extremely strong in this current meta. I don't know if I would call it top dog but Hunter is definitely in the running for strongest deck. In all honesty I feel like there isn't a defined "top dog" deck and that we have a fairly balanced meta across all decks.
Tempo rogue is strong atm but we are still in a state of disarray following the nerf. Tempo rogue tends to comes out on top following a big nerf but as the Meta settles rogue tends to drop in effectiveness. Hunter is in a good spot but lacking in survivability but Deathstalker Rexxar gives them late game threats. I don't, however, see Hunter being in as bad a spot as it was in un'goro but I don't foresee them being top tier. I probably don't know what I'm talking about though.

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
man there are a shit ton of hunters in the freaking brawl too, lmao. go away rexxar, i'm already sick of you.
I'm kinda glad hunter is back.

Well, according to vicious syndicate data Hunter and Priest are the most popular classes right now but...
The play field is even. We are at a... *gulps* balanced meta.
All the decks are doing pretty okay and they keep fluctuating around 50%, some having good matchups against some stuff and bad against others.
The nerfs were pretty great.

Its great to finally see more classes becoming good like hunter and rogue, now I'm just waiting for warlock...
When decks get greedy hunter comes back to balance things out. Post nerf i have also been seeing a lot more hunters now too.
