While I am was happy to see changes made to both long-term problematic cards like hex and recent mistakes like spreading infestation, I am deeply horrified by what is to come. I'm certain that most of you remember the balance changes made after the release of Karazhan, which nerfed cards from several powerful decks in the meta, including shaman. While these changes were well-received at first, it became quickly apparent that the the changes made to shaman cards were far outweighed by the changes made to every deck that was able to beat it before.
I believe Blizzard has has made the same mistake again. The loss of Innervate in aggro druid and fiery war axe in pirate warrior will make these decks much weaker, and the nerf to murloc warleader makes murloc paladin far less resilient to the few methods druid has of regaining control of the board. The result will be one of least diverse metas we have ever seen (made up of almost entirely jade druid), possibly even worse than beats-everything shaman. I don't think this post will change anything, but know this:
It is sort of funny. After the Purify fiasco, one worry was they would overcompensate in much the same way they did with Shaman. The final act in the Shaman drama was the post-Karazhan nerfs, which did kill one oppressive archetype (aggro) as intended, but in the process created the far worse midrange deck that gave us Shamanstone.
That's funny. I said the exact same thing in a different thread before seeing this one. I agree. I think you just see Jade Druid adapt slightly and still be the best deck.
I'm really concerned that this will be the Kara nerfs all over again.
In the Kara nerfs, they nerfed a bunch of cards "around" shaman, but not the ones that were causing the biggest issues: Trogg, Golem, Flametongue. Then, they nerfed Warrior, Druid, and Hunter, which were decks that were competing against Shaman. All that really happened was Midrange Shaman became better than Aggro Shaman. (IIRC...feel free to correct me here).
Here, they nerfed a bunch of cards around druid, but not the one causing the biggest issues: Jade Idol. They've also nerfed Jade Druid's competition in Pirate Warrior and Aggro Druid.
I fear that all that will change is that Jade Druid adds a few more, midrange, defensive tools. It will still be favored against every control deck, because that's what it does.
I do think there's a bit of a difference here, though. While I agree Jade Druid will remain very, very good, it's Priest that will reap a lot of the benefit. Prepare to be machine-gunned over and over.
They didn't hit the jade core for some unknown reason dunno why they like that stupid deck around most people just detest it..
they DID hit the 2 best performing cards in the deck and innervate is always MUST KEEP so it's a huge hit to the deck when I made jade druid when KFC was out I forgot to put innervate the deck felt weaker but it was definitely playable.
hope just decks will have better chance against jades...
control warlock didn't got hit neither did priest.

Does it though? I mean, in the Jade Druid v. Razakus match-up, the only change worth noting is the one to Innervate. That's an important change, don't get me wrong. But does it change the way that game plays out much?

And again another stupid observetion with hex. I am really amazed by some of the players hate to other class.
When you hex a minion it gets taunt as you know. This is a very serious change from poly, because you can create lethal and compeletly ignore the sheep. And if you really want to kill it in midgame, you can still use your hero power. But in hex you have to play a minion or weapon to kill it, that's why it was cost 1 mana less.
In the other hand mage can discover spells. Glyph, Tome, that 2-1 minion with deathrattle, babbling book etc. Mage has tins of ways to discover poly but shaman has none. İt's because of this reasons card is terible now, but you are one of the people that just hates one class, so i don't expect to reasonably discussing about shaman cards
And lastly hex was the only counter to turn 3 10-10 edwin

I feel like that matchup, even now, is more even than is typically assumed. Slowing Jade down may be just enough to tip the matchup.
Outside of Jade, what's thought to be the current best counter to Priest is Pirate Warrior, which got heavily nerfed.
Board-flood decks maybe got a little bit of help with the Plague nerf, but Priest often just stomps those, so any uptick in those decks is beneficial for Priest.
Obviously we're all making educated guesses here, but I think part of the reason they didn't completely rip Jade Druid to shreds is that it's the main thing preventing Prieststone from happening.

shaman is my 3rd most played class, but anyone who isn't delusional can recognize that hex at 3 mana is ridiculous

Dude, read my post again, if they did hex WITHOUT TAUNT AND A 1-1 just like poly, that would have been fine. But it still has taunt and unlike mage you can't discover it( unless you play lotus agents). Hex was a fine cardif they nerfed flametounge or i don't know, trogg it would be called. But nerfing shaman's most powerfull BASIC card, because of "it didn't do well with class identity". What the fuck. Even developers reason is fucking ridiculous, and they also said they will not give shaman any " board clears". What? This was the guys give the shaman a CONTROL CARD IN MsOG(White eyes). They just want to shaman a stupid aggro class and they are PUSHING it that's why this nerf is so bad

Remember when Blizzard actually gave a shit about balance back in 2014? Man I miss those days. But seems the only time they ever balanced anything was during the beta. Hell, they gave card buffs back during beta, but nowadays they cringe at the very word "buff."

I don't know... there are plenty of Tempo decks that can already beat Jade Druid fairly consistently, and this will only make them more powerful.
Personally I don't mind aggro being killed off in the least bit.
Bring on the Control Priest and weaker Jade Druid, and the combo decks to counter them.

I think we'll be back to a token shaman meta again. I prefer jade druids, they are more predictable.
