Midrange has nothing to do with Control elements and Midrange Hunter isn't a Midrange deck because of Sludge Belcher and Freezing Trap, Midrange decks are aggro decks that curve above control's removal options so it has a slower, but more resilient clock for a higher win rate vs control but a lower win rate vs other aggressive archetypes.
In Hearthstone, it could basically be any aggressive deck that doesn't have a consistent one drop in it's strategy.
The correlation i was looking for was whether those new players, as you said, like the meta very much but experienced old players do not, as theyre looking for more complexity which meta doesn't provide.
As far as i can see people who arent satisfied are actually those who have been playing this game for quite a bit now. Like you and me and i believe there are few others here who said the same. Also there is a lot of runt on salt thread and not only there from old players saying just that.
But to make such statement true we would have to exclude almost every aggro, mage and quest rogue player who has spent at least more than 2 years on this game. Because such experienced player prolly chose "better than usually" and above.
i just launch the game, rank 18 trying to play control paladin, 2 quest rogue, i guess i should play aggro to have more fun , i dont see any deck being near from fun atm, it is the worst meta
It has been really interesting seeing what everyone thought, and I saw what I expected. Most people (who voted) enjoy the meta, but many of the comments had more than a light seasoning of salt. It's really interesting to see the difference in the players who comment and those who just vote. Over 70% of the votes put the meta as better than average, 52% as good, and 25% said it was the best meta they have played. Yet, in the replies, many expressed discontent over aggressive decks, and what constitutes a 'mid range' deck. Of course, those that reply to forums usually play more seriously and have been playing the same more, so that may influence their opinions. All in all, and interesting result
Polls are pretty inconsistent? In rlf, where subjects have to answer 50 page length poll, a factor have to be applied to correct results, as at one point some people will just stop giving a shit and mark whichever or not the most precise answer. But the results of such poll are still valid.
Its not the case for this poll. Id say this one is very much accurate because its not hard to answer whether you enjoy it or not...
Why should how long you have been playing invalidate your opinion of your enjoyment of the meta?
New players can't really compare the current meta to older metas they didn't play in, so they are just comparing it with perhaps mean streets or even old gods. A comparison between just Un'Goro and mean streets will obviously lead to people believing the current meta is amazing, considering how bad the last one was. It wouldn't be particularly accurate to say that this is the best meta ever or better than average without actually having experienced a majority of the metas the game has experienced. It isn't that new players' opinions aren't valuable, just that when the question is essentially asking us to compare with past metas, a new player's opinion won't really accurately reflect the quality of this one compared with much older ones.

So only 54% players actually enjoy this game (or rather constructed ladder) to the point where they can call it good? Good job Blizzard.
GOOD FUCKING JOB.

Also, I realized that I shouldn't have judged the meta against past meta's, but just if people are enjoying it
