Finally at rank 2 now, is there enough time to get to legend? Don't have too much time so will play 5-10 games a day.
It's hard to say. I was at rank 2 earlier this season and ended up having a losing streak that took me all the way back down to 5. On the other hand, last season I got to rank 2 and had a winning streak that carried me to Legend in about 30 games.
Both were correlated with making changes to the decks I was playing, so all I can say is keep at it, don't change things up too much (since it takes time to understand the effects of changes) and play as much as you can comfortably. And, if you lose some games, don't let it freak you out, that can just happen sometimes even with the best play.
At the moment I am trying elemental warrior and umbra jade rogue! Challenging to get legend with meme decks. Considering playing secret mage or midrange pally if I am desperate.
Switched playing from phone to laptop from rank 5 onwards, so only tracked that matches. Was struggling at rank 4 a lot, but the other ranks went quite easy. Picked up Paladin last month, so I guess it took me around 80 wins from start season to legend. Played murloc paladin only. Teched in an glutternous ooze till rank 2 where I put second blessing of kings back in.

Congratulations. You faced only 1 pirate warrior and 4 egg druids from rank 5 to legend? Wow!

Currently at Rank 4. I see a handful of pirate warriors but they're not the bulk of games. Lot of mages (mostly burn mages running Ice Block/Ice Barrier/Medivh instead of the more pure secret mage varieties) and a lot of midrange paladins with some murloc paladins. Fair number of silence priests too.
Vicious Syndicate suggests I should be seeing more, but there may be NA/EU differences or time zone differences that make their numbers differ from my experience.
Hey guys. So i reached rank 3 this season and i am grinding for more with Silence priest. But i wonder is there any difference between third rank reward chest and legend one at the end of a season?

Thought I should post here to document my first time legend. I'm also F2P, but have been around since pre-LoE so my collection is respectable enough where I have enough cards to play a few meta decks without getting bored.
From rank 5-3 I used Quest warrior w/ 1 primordial drake and I cut curator. It was solid up until I hit a wall of mages and I had to think about what could fare okay vs them. I added shield blocks and 1 shield slam to bring myself out of burst range, but I wasn't gaining much progress. After a game where a gunther mage burned me over 2 turns from 17 sitting comfortably behind their bs ice block to prevent my lethal, I felt it was better for me to just switch to a deck that was better against mages overall.
I switched to MR hunter and finally hit legend about 8 days ago. I tech'd in a Hungry Crab, 2 crawlers (however, crawlers may have been unnecessary as I barely hit any pirate warriors along the way), and the mvp The Black Knight.
Along the way I think what helped in getting there for myself anyway was winning some of the unfavored matchups and not relying on queuing into your good matchups, staying positive, and knowing when to just take a break. After playing an unfavored matchup, win or lose, I waited a minute before queuing again so I wouldn't run into the same person. I dropped ranks multiple times so the climb wasn't all downhill to 1, believe me. The climb from 3-1 was the hardest, but 1-legend went more smoothly. You face some legend players at 1 who play meme decks and are usually easier to beat than the people at your current rank.
Good luck to all who are trying to make that final push!
I got legend for first time last night... Went from 1 star in rank 2 to Legend without a loss... Pushing on my other account for legend before season ends... Currently at Rank 4 on it...
Hello, I reached Legend for the second time with Midrange Paladin, 24W-8L, 75% winrate! Defeating Pavel in the run was a little bonus.
I did it this season with my own version of aggro druid, leeroy was MVP in many games.

Which version of Murloc Paladin did you play?

Yeah, that was the list that broke me out of my stall at rank 3 last season around this time. Took me to Legend in about 20 games. Great stuff!
Doing something different this season, and I feel like I've just had a breakthrough. I'll share when it works. :)

Not going for legend, but like to share my recent Control Paladin deck which had a 83% WR climb to rank 5.
Each game felt like I had a chance so its matchups in the current meta is extremely good.
Regular NA Arena Leaderboard player.
Reached #1 in NA arena leaderboard in May 2018 with a 9.07 average!
I'm currently sitting at Rank 1, with 2 stars to go. But honestly I don't know if I have the energy to get the last two wins!! :(
I might just take a break and try again when we all get knocked back down.

First time legend with a fairly standard control mage deck.

Anybody know how many people are legend on EU?
Last season, one of my friends in Hearthstone were rank 23K. Are there just as many people this season as well?
