Im looking to scrape up some dust for legendaries like Elise and Lyra and I noticed Twin Emperors were still in my collection. I was wondering if there is any Cthun deck that is viable right now or I should dust velkor and other expensive cthun cards.
I play a C'Thun OTK deck in Wild starring Aviana, Kun the Forgotten King, and Brann Bronzebeard that also has Emperors. They've saved me a few games against Priests and Hunters for instance. Good card, but that's in a wild deck with a few other necessary legendaries.
TL:DR; Yes there is a viable C'Thun deck in Wild, and Twin Emperor Vek'lor is a good legendary.
I'm wondering if a quest warrior cthun variant would be effective. Cthun warrior already has alot of taunts, could be a more aggressive quest version ultimately.
I've been playing tons of C'Thun druid in Casual when I get bored. I'm not daring enough to take it into Ranked, but I do get a lot of success with it in Casual surprisingly and it's one of my favorite decks to play outright.
Ran into a few C'Thun decks lately. Thought it was just people using whatever to get by in the new content, but a few were surprisingly effective.
Taunt paladin, a quest paladin (probably the latest experiment in trying to get that to work), a quest warrior and a ramp druid are those I can remember. And a rogue throwing a mish-mash of new and old while bouncing Blade of C'Thun something fierce. Props to that crazy one in the age of Quest Rogue.
I used C'thun to get a quest done...I despise pirate warrior and don't have quest warr yet. So when I had to get some wins with warrior, I crafted the old C'thun/control, and went 3-1. Way too small of a sample size to tell if it was actually good. I think I was around rank 10 at the time, so with the new system of not dropping below certain ranks, I had nothing to lose. I can guarantee it would not work below rank 5. All I'm seeing is aggro (pally, warrior, sometimes druid), midrange (hunter, pally), and the occasional taunt warrior/control or rogue (miracle or quest).
1) as someone who have dusted many legendries, I can confidently say DO NOT dust them. in next expansion, or the one after, you will regret it. the amount of dust yo loose for a dusted legendary doesn't worth it.
2) As for C'thun. from day ne of this expansion I have tried any C'thun deck offered by different players. After 3 weeks of testing ladder, I think I have found the one that works. So far made it from rank 8 to 7, winning against hunters and other quest warriors. If the deck will prove viable, I will post it in heartpwn. I think it has great potential. Most decks offered are either too slow to complete the quest, or too slow of making C'thun to get to the magical number (10) where value is extracted. As I said, I will post it in the next week or so, if it proves viable.
TO answer your question, you have to ask yourself what made the deck pretty good back when it was introduced and what kind of meta it was played in. Are you missing cards from the past expansion that were rotated out? There certainly have not been any new cards for c'thin decks

yes there are, i se eC'thun priest being a lot more viable now than before thanks to cards like Binding Heal, Shadow Visions and Tar Creeper, the former works wonders with Hooded Acolyte and allows you to extend your gameplan to actually reach the c'thun turns, the middle one helps a lot with the early game defenses priest lacked up to this point, while the later helps tutor for key cards likeCircle of Healing to get a massive c'thun combo going

Velkor is a very good legendarys, I see some decks using C'Thun Buffs only to use him and not C'Thun itself.
I don't recommend dust a good legendary only because it is out of meta but it is your decision.

Meh who knows...
i think that probably you can dust it if only play standar. I dont think that ctun deck come back to the meta and rotate the next year..
Crafting legendary only to dust it later is not good practice .
I say you keep it and maybe play it one day in wild .

Here's my list btw:

cthun deck= concede deck.
slow vs aggro
auto loses vs greedy control.
only 3 type deck in current meta. Aggro, RNG feast deck, and greedy control deck.
cthun deck have zero chance vs them.
greedy control deck= concede deck in current meta but will said welcome to cthun deck.
I'm playing a C'Thun Druid deck without Veklor (Don't have the dust to craft him) and doing pretty good with it on ladder.
Like other metas it can still get to rank 10 no problem, beyond that is tough.

C'Thun quest warrior is working for me - winning games at rank 4.
I accidentally selected a c'thun priest deck when I was at rank 3 last week. Ended up winning and decided to roll with it until I lost. Ended up 3-1.
two answers for two different questions :)

Tanks for the deck, was wondering about this option. going to give it a try.
C'thun priest probably works okay.
