Wow, people really love to complain. I didn't dread ranking up to rank 5 this time around which is astonishing since the last time that happened was when TGT was released (played Dragon Priest variants). People need to just stick with a deck they enjoy and stop playing when you feel like you're making some stupid plays. I think the meta is diverse enough that you can hit Rank 5/Legend with at least 5/8 classes with moderate ease. I had a blast ranking with Elemental Shaman, although I was bouncing up 1-2 ranks between 8-6 for a couple days. Also, I'm split on this advice, but it feels like people aren't conceding when it's quite obvious you are about to lose in 2-3 turns. Playing a game out may give you more experience but it also increases the anger/saltiness making you play your next games sub-optimally.
That being said, I see that some of you are auto-condeding against Rogue? Not sure what rank you guys are at, but I've encountered many Miracle or Thief rogues that were completely beatable. At least play to see what build it is before conceding.
And if you hate Standard so much, Wild is an absolute blast. While everyone was complaining last season, I was enjoying wild and thought it was much easier to hit Rank 5+.
There has never been, nor will there ever be, a control meta. What happened to that Gwent all you control people were gushing about? Did it got up and gwent away? No matter - This game is in a golden era.

Pre-Naxx it was all about control decks, but yeah since then aggro has been on top, Buck Flizzard!
Aggro and OTK decks are so fucking boring, the latter a bit less brainless, but that doesn't make up for how incredibly uninteractive they are for your opponent. Still those decks have been the most popular due to their fast wins and high win rate as well as, at least for aggro decks, ease of play and cheap to craft.
These decks are exactly the decks that counter control so for those who just wanna play control decks and absolutely don't enjoy such brainless or uninteractive playstyles Hearthstone has become a source of great frustration. It's possible to build so many cool, interesting and potentially very fun control decks, but due to what decks are most popular you can't play these decks without getting your dreams crushed and never get to enjoy the things your deck is meant to do....queue frustration.
It's like you're being held in a constant state of hunger and are continuously being offered your favorite meals that look and smell amazing so you buy them, but every time you try to actually taste them it's like they're all made of dog poop
What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
I didn't have fun in the shaman meta.this is much more enjoyable. I woulx prefer less aggressive dominance, but it seems aggro is always meant to be great in this game.
Current Meta is A LOT MORE FUN than pre Ungoro Meta.
As a Priest Main since Beta, i rly like how many Decks are viable and playable on ladder. Ofc, not Tier 1 and the best ones, BUT you can definetly have success with them even on higher ranks. You can play a couple of different Highlander Versions, Dragons, Quest, Silence, Miracle,..i think we're on a good way with the Meta overall.
The shittist Meta ever was the Shaman Meta + PW. Shaman was cancer as hell an it was impossible to tech against. It was just OP
