I usually have two open slots that I play around with new cards and these are some things I've tried since my list in last season:
2x Molten blade: Because I LOOVE RNG, and Doomhammer + upgrade/cultist/heroic strike is OP
1x Bittertide Hydra: Still playing around with this, if you play it against aggro you just die. It's pretty strong against control though.
2x Golakka Crawler: This seems good to blow up your own guys for value sometimes, but also seems strong if you play against the mirror.
[Suggested by DerMax] Explore Un'goro: My immediate thought is to use it once you've run out of cards in hand, and your opponent starts to stabilize. Hopefully discover some win conditions along the way. I tried 1 of renounce in aggro warlock last season, and it didn't work out so great, so im hoping explore un'goro has better RNG attached.
I've seen a few other people play greenskin or grommash, but I stick to leeroy atm.
What's your spicy tech for beating your way up the ladder?
Yes the meta has really evolved from that last 3 months of pirate warriors. They run spicy tech like 5 mana 8/8's now! Your ingenuity should be commended. proceed to patting yourself on the back for 'spicing up' the exact same deck you've been playing for 3 months by changing one card in it.
Leeroy was alwayas in my Pirat Warrior, Greenskin was add after Un'Goro lunch, but it's a bit slow. Guess Molten Blade and new crab-pirat-eater are both good to try.
Btw, i LOVE how simple pirates crash new quest-rogue. Everyone like OMG! This rogue! OHmyohmy! And pirates like.. hehe, wanna see how you play you reward and then die next turn.

Yeah I've found the same thing. Every time I play my control deck in ranked, I play against quest rogue and get shredded.
Every time I play against quest rogue with pirates, they get rolled.
Why are you guys still having this discussion pretending pirate warrior still the Alpha deck after making a few adjustments?
Guys you seen how fat those taunts are on the ladder? After farming for more than 3 months you have more than enough gold to afford other decent decks. Unless of course if you are telling me you lack of the adequate skills to play other decks after SMOrcing too much. This reason I can understand.
I have more trouble with elemental shaman, then I do with taunt warrior tbh, and pirate warrior is the one ive had the most success with.
I'm playing Jade Druid stacks, Quest Warrior, Quest Rogue list, Last season I played pirate warrior up until rank 4, then there was too many reno control decks, and I had to swap to something more midrange. I'm planning the same strat, pirates until higher ranks, then swap to jade stacks.
Golakka Crawler is a terrible choice. Even if you kill a 1/1 pirate it doesn't give you value as it just moves that 1/1 of stats onto your crab. And one body is worse than two most of the time. Also, it's a dead card in your hand if the only pirate on board isn't a 1/1. Do you really want to be forced to kill your own cultist or greeskin?
I love pirate warrior because hearthstone has so many fun and unique mechanics. But we can ignore all them and just hit face. Adapt? Elementals? Quests? Nahhh. Lets hit face and make the game boring for everyone!!! Yay!!
My spicy tech is a rope to use around my neck at the end of the day.
I like the golakka in the deck. A 2 drop 3/4 isn't super easy to deal with along with more pirates and weapons. Helpful against quest rogue dropping swashbuckler and the mirror.

As much as I hate Pirate Warrior, creativity and refining decks shouldn't be garnering hate, there is really no need to be antagonistic.
Unless they are roping and spamming emotes, hate the deck not the player, and if they are doing the after-mentioned things, don't generalize that player with the deck that they are playing.
Also to be fair, during MSoG, Reno-lock lists dominated the front page with 1-3 cards changes in their flex spots.
"Wow! You must be so smart teching against the meta, have an upvote!"
"Amazing! Putting those tech cards in your flex spots must have been a really tough decision, props to your for your creativity!"
"Medivh, the Guardian? Wow, that's so cool! Who would have thought that Medivh synergizes with high cost spells and could create instant board swings when coupled with a high-cost board clear!"
But what if they run Ooze?
Well it's not like other classes toss Ooze against Warlock because they don't normally run weapons. Oh wait.
Your ingenuity should be commended. proceed to patting yourself on the back for 'spicing up' the exact same deck you've been playing for 3 months by changing one card in it.
Yeah...no. As much as I agree with you that it is not creative, you are attacking the player instead of contributing in a meaningful way.
Seriously, save your salt for PWs for the the salt page this post is labeled "deckbuilding " for a reason.
I run two copies of crazed alchemist. Works well against high health, low attack control minions. Also synergizes well with frothing berserker or with small time buccaneer(not that anyone runs stb now tbh)

I see the same arguments in M:TG all the time, people just want to be mad.
EDIT:(in MTG you can atleast have a sideboard, to keep your match-up-dependant answers, but in HS you ust gotta hope for that slick 1 of)

I would advise you guys to include that concede button down in the bottom right into your game plan. So many possibilities to kill pirates now :)

If you want to grind to legend by playing grindy 40minute control mirror matches go ahead.
I'd rather play twice as many 5-turn games.
I run 8strong taunts and 2 heals in my midrange paladin, spicy tech against scumbags :), also better tempo options at turn 2 and 2 with the new cards.
I used a Ragnaros as tech card once, and it worked! If the match isn't over until the 8 turn you play Rag and win the game.
In the actual season, I sometimes use an bloodsail corsair when I play against a lot of Shamans, Warriors, Rogues and Hunter, it work very well to

Try Deathwing Kappa

Both Reno and Aggro are cancer!

Sadly, it doesn't change the fact that pretty much all HS players (who don't play pirate themselves) hate pirate warrior. ;)
Just a Korean user passing by. :)
I'm beginning to get that feeling :P
Have some ricin.
