IMO, I think Blizz will print 1-2 unique strong class cards for Warlock / Mage / Priest that they could use for their highlander decks.
These cards will have nothing to do with "No duplicate in your deck" but they could be strong enough to make up the individual disadvantages that Mage / Priest / Warlock run in their highlander decks.
For Warlock, there could be a Rare / Epic card that will restore your Hero's health for double the amount of time you use Hero Power in this game.
For Mage, it could be a spell that gains Armor as many as double the enemy minions that you destroyed in this game.
Wild Reno decks will become more and more OP over time because with such a large pool the disadvantages of having to play 1 offs will not be punishing at all .
Highlander Warlock could still be a thing if a proper, MASSIVE heal card comes with the next expansion. Since Brann is going too, a card with a similar mechanic (maybe a singleton-related condition one) is much needed.

With the upcoming Year of the Mammoth, Reno Jackson will rotate out of Standard play.
With this change, the Reno archetype becomes a thing of the past.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Reno decks only work because having Reno compensates for the inconsistency by allowing you to survive long enough to draw into a greater variety of powerful cards. So when Reno rotates out, what happens to Kazakus, arguably one of the most powerful cards in the current meta?
Perhaps Blizzard has something in the pipeline to keep Reno type decks viable?
Any thoughts?
I hope they have something in the pipeline... The priest still has Greater Healing Potion, but is this going to be enough? Hard to tell now.
Without Brann, Kazakus just isn't the same level of value as N'Zoth or Jade Idol. Expect Mage control and control warlock to die a quick death, unless they get some real love in the next expansion.
Yeah the only deck I see running Kazakus is Priest because of Greater Healing Potion and all of the other heals. (Unless there are some new cards in the expansion that keep it relevant in other decks.)_
Maybe N'Zoth Kazakus with greater healing potions and heals will be a good control deck. Kinda hard to tell without knowing what the new cards do.
I have been thinking about this a lot since I crafted him.
Every time I see questions like this one I'm wondering why wasn't anyone asking what's gonna happen to pirate warrior after MSOG comes out?
If you didn't get the sarcasm the quick answer is no one knows, so many cards are rotating out and a whole new set will be released so there are many factors that will affect the state of the meta after the rotation hits. Even though many think that blizzard is stupid, they really aren't and I bet they wouldn't be releasing cool cards like Kazakus or Raza for 3-4 months, even if they won't get much love in the next expansion I hope they will in the ones to come later.

I believe that there is tons of ideas out there to help future Highlander decks to exist without Reno.

Brann rotating out will be a big hit too.
Brann + Kazakus is by far the strongest play for a highlander deck (outside of T6 reno vs. cancer).
I have hopes for Raza Priest though, but it will need a new value generator to replace Brann.

Where shall I start...

I once made a Reno Priest deck and proceeded to win almost every game until I realised I forgot to put Reno in. I swear it actually works better
