So the word on the street is that the next expansion will be some what of a dinosaur theme, or maybe ancient creatures of sorts.
This got me thinking about dinosaurs, specifically, a pterodactyl or pteranodon. Which led me to wonder...do you think Blizzard will introduce a "flying" mechanic with this expansion? Maybe can only be attacked by other creatures with flying? Or am I just talking craziness?
I sincerely hope it doesn't happen, but flying as a mechanic could probably enable minions to ignore taunts. May God help us if that's the case.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished
I came up with an interesting idea once for a mechanic. It was essentially this....
Mage spell
5 Mana
Deal 3 damage to up to 3 random enemy minions
Reveal cost 2 mana
deal 3 damage to an enemy minion
Essentially the concept is You have cards with double effects. It has its normal effect and a reveal effect. Essentially revealing is paying the Reveal cost, in this case 2 mana, and you reveal that the card is in your hand, you then get its reveal effect. Later down the road you can use its actual effect as well which would be like casting the spell normally as we do now(or minion, weapon etc).
The down side for reveal cards are that, they can clog hand because they generally are more expensive cards and they "reveal" information to your opponent so they can play around the second effect.
The upside is that they are really amazing for reno decks since its 2 cards packed in 1
Or destroy a friendly minion to gain an additional effect? Seems pretty wild down in Un'Goro anyway...
I mean, it would have to get super weird like
Battlecry: Consume a friendly minion, gain X ability or stats
and other minions may have a "when consumed give X ability or stats"
I think avoiding things like battlecrys would be nice though since it directly affects brann interactions in wild which would probably get really obnoxious

Eh, it's already happened with N'zoth and Naxxramas... we'll live ;)
Flying sounds like it'll get us around the world of hearthstone way faster.
I bet the devs will lock it behind max level characters only and you'll have to pay some outrageous gold fee/sink with a trainer to unlock the ability to fly your cards. This would be very unfair to new players with no gold and this not having access to flying.
There will probably be no fly boards as well, so if you queue onto that board with a flying deck you'll have to walk through the entire match so that you can enjoy the board details up close...
I think overall it would be tough to balance since players with flying could swoop into a match and gank other players in that board.

I dont think blizzard will introduce flying since Taunt is already too complex for some noobs to understand Kappa

We need something that can "taunt" spells.

They should have a bunch of Searing elementals that keep knocking your minions off the Fucking volcano.
theres no hints or clues we can use to figure out the next new mechanic, but hopefully its along the lines of "destroy pirates"
