Well, I looked at my Maly-rogue statistics for this season (I started play it this season and most of games were on that deck). And this is really awfull :(
This ranking is from rank 15 - then fast climb to rank 4 - then lots of bullsh*t with back to rank 7/ again to rank 6...
What to do guys??
As you see all classes are not a problem (except frostmages, but its ok) but shamans are real fckn pain! Switch to another class (but not on frostmage, I just crafted Alexstraza, and after 10-15 plays my skill and luck for this deck still quite low)? Play control war? Or just Don't play at all for week or two till meta became stable? Huh... :(
This meta is stable.... Midrange shaman is just the most powerful deck after the nerfs, just as reynad predicted
Midrange shaman is more often deck even compared to secret paladin in his time! i'm ok if I shmana is tough for rogue. But deck appears on ladder 2-3 times more!! then any other deck. By @the meta will be more stable I mean when more people will play more counter-decks and shaman will be not so wide used
OP, if you're struggling with piloting freeze mage, I'll offer one suggestion. Don't be shy about using your burn to neutralize threats. The natural tendency, at least for me for the longest time, was to hoard those burn cards like they're gold. Against an aggressive or midrange deck that doesn't run heals, all you have to do is make sure that you can get to 15 damage after you play Alex. That can be the Frost Bolt / Ice Lance combo (esp, with spell damage boost), roaring torches, fireballs, etc. Don't sit on a fireball if the shaman just dropped a big or snowball threat.
You have to be much more thoughtful with your burn against decks that can heal, but this is not a concern with midrange shaman.
There are few better feelings than playing freeze mage against a deck like midrange shaman and knowing you have the nuts with two or three turns left to play out.
Well, I played not so many games with Freezmage on ladder, maybe 10-15. And against shamans that was 2-4. Once I got full board close to turn 6 and had no aoe and second ice block (shaman just one shotted me on block for this t6), another 2 looses were quite similiar, once shaman placed lolwut! Eater of Secrets. So even with hunters I got better stats as 3-1 :) Then I met 2 control wars - autoconcede. Then even loose to rogue! when he placed Taurissan, I had no spell to remove it, and on t8 he oneshotted me with maly to block, and no second iceblock with me :(
So freezmage can have good winrate, but you need to play more and practice much more, its difficult deck. Vallet aggro-mage i played last season is easier :)

It's certainly a deck that requires some time investment to learn to pilot, particularly when your opponent is pressuring you every turn. If you found something else that works for you, by all means run that. If not, I'm happy to give some advice. Btw, I beat my first control warrior ever as freeze mage a couple of days ago. Exact lethal no less (needless to say he did not draw into justicar). That was awesome.
I agree about Control War, I started to play it now and first impressions are positive. Its a pitty I dont have Geddon and dusted Yogg too, So my build is not "anti-shaman" based, but it has quite good standings in other matches with Alexstrasza and Faceless Manipulator (I found Faceless as great card for cw, when you can copy large enemy threat, like Grommash or Antonidas and then kill enemies one). But I don't know about Alex, maybe something can fit better?
But I wouldn't say that Tempo mage performs now well on ladder, without Yogg it gives much worse results, at least I didn't get any profit after 5-10 games at all. Maybe faster version will be good against shamans, but surelly not so good against cw or druids.
Maly or token druids are hard to play against them too, I checked that myself aswell. Shaman can place Trog, Wolves, Flametounge, Thing from Below just on t5-t6. And you usually have zero board or single minion. Its just unbeatable.
But according to druid I have some thoughts... Malygos rarely plays in shaman match. Maybe changing maly and moonfires to 2x Mind Control Tech and Ragnaros the Firelord will improve gameplay against shaman and will not make other matches worse.

Tempo Mage is actually performing well for me , around 65% win rate overall. 50-50 Vs Shaman but as you say really struggles Verus CW. luckily I've ran into tempo and Aggro Warriors too so the winrate a fair ish 40% but control warrior is normally only 20%. I Run Malygos a the top of my list of crazy swings. Malygos + Arcane Explosion is so strong against ANY midrange deck. These vague stats are over 40 odd games between ranks 10 and 5.
Well, Mind Control Tech comes not so good against shaman as I expected (before Old-Gods 2x techs was imba in secret pal and zoo meta :)) But latest vS report showed new Malygos deck, which is using Jungle Moonkin and The Curator. I agree that it should perform very well against shamans, but for now I'm sticking on CW and quite enjoy its play :)
Funny is I'm looking for shamans at rank 5 and see NONE for about 10 games so I'm playing control warrior vs other control decks like renolock and priest then I finally switch to maly rogue and what do I face? Shamans and freeze mage. Game is rigged.
Funny thing is, I've found one of the best counters to Midrange Shaman is Control Shaman/Maly Dragon Shaman. Lightning Bolt counters Tunnel Trogg, Stormcrack counters Totem Golem, Forked Lightning with Spell Damage counters Feral Spirit, Lava Burst counters Thing from Below, and Earth Elemental played on the turn after Flamewreathed Faceless is incredibly annoying to Midrange Shamans. And even when you lack spells, minions like Blackwing Technician, Twilight Guardian and Doomsayer are all pretty hard for Midrange Shaman to deal with.
If you want a cheaper deck, I mostly use Midrange Hunter with a teched Ooze. The Deathrattles on Fiery Bat and Huge Toad are really annoying for Shamans who manage to get off Tunnel Trogg and Totem Golem, since they have to choose between letting you keep your tempo or removing your tempo but also possibly losing theirs (unless you get unlucky)
Well, I dusted all my shaman cards (had almost everything for both midrange, evolve and aggro decks) because I decided that never going to play this smorcing bullsh*t :D Also i dusted all my hunter cards, as it was my first hero I got golden and I played it much long time ago. But now I haven't mood to play it already for 2 months, and I needed dust to craft freeze mage cards :)
I got CW performing very well against shamans, but it is a pain to climbing with it from rank 10 and above, too much control decks, games are long and you can loose due to some mistake or unluck. For now I started to play N'zoth rogue, it is easy and quite fast to play and it performing very well against shamans too. I would even say that midrange-shaman is my favorite matchup on this deck :) And after rank5 I think will continue with control war.

I feel your pain. Playing Malyrogue today, 17 games, 9 Shamans. At least it's good practice.
