Serious question: How many hours a day would you say it takes to get to legend? I try every season, but I only make it to about rank 5. As Firebat once said, "pick a tier 1 deck and play it till your eyes bleed," but I just can't commit that much time to one game, I get too bored too quickly. I would say I play HS about 1-2hrs/day, but just about every day. Is legend simply a product of me not devoting enough time, or do i need to just "git gud"?
It depends a lot on your win rate. I Also think a more casual schedule like an hour a day can help some people and hurt others. I think with some people who try and grind out long sessions end up losing more than they should. Tilt, boredom etc. cause bad play. Some people who just play an hour here and there though might suffer because sometimes it can take a few games to get in the groove and make the right decisions and see the correct lines of play. It just kind of depends on how you're wired.
Bottom line though, yes, if you git gud 1-2 hours a day is sufficient to get to legend.
In Lifecoach's race to legend he did it in ca 200 games with very high winrate i think it was 67% or so(dont know the exact stats). It's definitely a grind but having a good winrate sure help's ^^.
so strange, I flew to rank 6 3 days ago, and the past 2 days I have been losing so many games. I dont get why, I am playing the same deck that got me to rank 6 early in the season.
Same problem, i got to rank 4 and then i start losing every game no matter what deck it is and now im in rank 8. Im losing almost always when the next turn is my turn to finish opponent and then he comes with some bs and he is killin me. I dont know what am i doing wrong. I got to rank 4 and all stars 4 days after season start and now im biggest noob ever
Same for me ):
I didn't get that high in week 1, but what I've seen the past couple seasons is that I fly up to a certain level in that first week (contrary to the usual advice that "week 1 is the hardest"), but then the second week the grind really sets in.
Even around 10 now it's a fiesta of golden heroes and legend carbacks. I lost on Firebat's stream a couple nights ago playing rank 10; there are definitely some solid players you have to climb past at this point.
Going to finial try to put in all the effort needed this month :P Also will be getting my Golden Mage hero, possibly it timed out right at the same time as legend!
Created a combo of Dragon Warrior and Control Warrior (lots of armor) and its been combating all of the aggro decks on the meta (discolock, etc) very well.
The discolocks concede when I brawl their full boards.
Alright! Made it to legend, after traveling through the jungle of shamans and rng fudgers. The meta is ridiculous right now. Undertaker- level horrible.. but it's really fun to build cool decks with the new cards.
I made the climb with Dragon-n'zoth priest and my new tempo rouge :). Gl to the rest of you climbers!
I need some tips for getting legend. I can consistently get rank 2 each month but from there i start to get excited and tilt pretty hard from first lose. This habit of mine started to annoy me real hard.

to be fair.. I played the priest deck to rank 6 and from there I used the rouge deck. the priest deck runs 2x excavated evil and 1 holy
I'm only playing Rogue now ( only missing Rogue and shaman for golden, and I don't want to play shaman), and I need a good rogue deck. Can you post yours?

seriously I am so annoyed with Hearthstone right now. It use to be fun to play but this meta is gross and not fun at all. They ruined it more with the release of the kharazan cards . Its toxic. I always am able to hit rank 5 atleast and I cant even touch it and its almost middle of the month. The reason is because everyone is playing the same dam decks and it comes down to who mulligans better.
Teched in one ooze for cold blood after running into 5 shamans in a row at rank 1. Gl getting golden with the coolest class
I can vouch for this list I've been running almost the same list and it's pretty good. The only difference is I run a peddler instead of the ooze. I'm rank 3 right, but I'd probably be legend if I didn't play like garbage in my last session and tilted my way down to five before climbing back to 3. So that's the word of warning, if you don't play this deck well you will get rekt.

You have to accept the fact that there are and will always be top-tier OP decks around, of course the majority would netdeck those and play to race the ladder. Why would people use bad decks and waste their time climbing the ladder? Not that Im saying I like the cancer decks or current meta.

its cause of the shi#ty meta right now
Seeing a lot of hate on the meta right now. IMHO it is nowhere near the worst meta we have had, but I do understand why people don't like it.
Something to consider though, when you think about the "Perfect Meta". Let's say every class was balanced and everyone had a 50% chance to win a game going into it and you should expect to meet people of similar skill as you get higher and higher ranks.
With a 50% win-rate it would take 929 games to get from Rank 5 to Legend and 1373 games from Rank 20.
It starts to make sense why people focus on high win rate decks when it comes to laddering seriously (AKA getting Legend) and you could also imagine that if we had a meta with decks that weren't strong then you would find getting legend much much harder.

How do you calculate getting to Legend from rank 5 with 929 games and a 50% win rate? No win streak.
What's wrong with the meta right now? I don't see any problems climbing. I played dragon priest, secret hunter, discard zoo, control mage, and control warrior currently climbing to rank 3. maintaining a 60% win rate. I enjoy the meta right now, it's not stale because people are still experimenting with new cards and decks.

the only reason why people do not like the meta right now is because its so unbalanced. You cant even play a priest deck in standard and do well with it. Shaman is OP asf with all of their early mana cards. Shaman needs to be extinct imo, they should ban using it next season :)

what are best decks for rank 5>legend on EU right now?
Is Yogg token druid still good to climb with? I was stuck in rank 9-8 all day today.
