First I would like to say that I don't want priest to be the strongest class...I am not sure I want it to even be in the top half. A meta where Priest dominates would instantly become the worst meta in the history of Hearthstone.
BUT! Priest should be playable. Priest should not be 100% auto-concede to certain decks (OTK warrior, Cthun Druid, Shaman...etc).
Priest is terrible now because Zombie Chow is gone, Lightbomb is gone, deathlord is gone...
So, my simple changes would be just 3 changes.
1. Bring Lightbomb back. Add it back to the standard pool. Priest NEEDS a better board clear. Paladin has insane ways to fully clear the board....Warlock does for gods sake. Priest can pick a random minion off or hit for 2 or 3...but so many minions are massive now.
2. Make Cabal Shadow Priest a 5 drop. Maybe it would be too broken...but 6 mana is too much for your best card. Druid has Druid of the Claw for 5. they can make a 4/6 with taunt. Whats wrong with a yeti + a steal for 5?
3. Give priest a real one drop...how about zombie chow. It actually fits. A 1 drop that heals for 5. It should be a priest card.
4. Other ideas. give priest it's own wild pyro-like card. Maybe a 1 or 3 drop....maybe a 1/4 pyro like card for 1 mana?
Obviously they still have problems with 4 attack minions, but you can't give them everything...
I love that we are all trying to build Priest as a better class, but I think we really need to take a step back and wait for couple of days or a week to see what Karazhan has in store for Priest regardless they are bad or good cards, then we can start making more threads about Priest. As of now, there has been like multiple 5-10 threads every week about Priest, and they all end up about basic card choices and what new cards Priest will need.... We can still contribute to the old threads, but We cant really make Blizz create cards based on what we want.. Unless we have a Hearthstone game designer spy in here..
Your board clear right now is linked with Wild Pyro, I agree with NeilF. What Priest needs is to solidify its archetype. I've seen Control, OTK, N'Zoth, C'thun, Dragon, and Yogg Priests all floating around the Meta. They're all mediocre because Priest's cards are stretched too thin. Drop the N'Zoth synergy cards, add a touch more control to aid the C'thun, Dragon, and Control decks. Maybe add a specific dragon synergy bring back Dragon Priest. It's in the same boat as Paladin: too many possibilities, too few cards.

First of all, some classes have weaknesses. Second, wild pyro is fine as-is. And I play control hunter, and at any time if my opponent swarms the board with 3hp+ minions it's escape concede. They don't have AOE either. So suck it up and beg blizz that they print a sick priest card. Also, OTK warrior will never conede to priest because of their heal because they can pull of 30+ damage worgens anyways..
1. He's not saying change Wild Pyro, he's saying Priest should get a card similar to Wild Pyro. 2. He's not saying OTK warrior concedes to Priest. He's saying Priests concede to OTK warrior.
On topic, yeah, I agree. The loss of Lightbomb was a hard hit most of all. Priest needs new board clear tools. I mean, it's built to be the control class, but Paladin actually has better mass removal. Equality combos with so many things. Excavated Evil is fine, but it's no Lightbomb.

I don't want the cards that rotated out back, and I don't Classic cards to get buffs. How about a minion with a really fitting ability? I mean Warrior got the Ghoul, who is a 3/3 for 3 with a Whirlwind effect. Or Shaman got Thing from Below, which costs less for every Totem summoned. What does Priest have that'S unique and defining? (except for the stealing your opponents deck and using it against him/her)
The reason why some of the cards are 6 instead of 5 are for a very specific reason. Double Cabals in one turn is a massive swing. Making it 6 prevents that. Same reason why Entomb is 6. Allowing two of those effects in the same turn without a reduction is crazy.

Shifting shade at 3 mana won't break the game, but that's a ton of temp and value at 3 mana. Get a card and a body that can trade with a bunch of 5 drops.
Excavated is realistically fine. AoEs are difficult to balance, it feels fine where it's at.
Darkshire....... You want a chillwind Yeti with a free flash heal in one card. Yea no, that isn't going to happen. In general combining effects (2 card effects into one) generally ups the card cost significantly.
I'm on board with a Dark Cultist like effect. Zombie chow is really a slow that would need to be re-balanced, and I can almost guarantee you'd hate it being back for what you'd play against.
Literally none of these problems are substantial compared to the shit-show that is the rogue class. No board clear at all. At least preist has excavated evil, and holy nova. CSP a 5 drop? Are you crazy?! Feels like you DO want preist to be top class, because making ALL these changes would make it pretty OP and broken
Prophet Velen's ability should be a Battlecry. Would anyone have played Justicar Trueheart if the improved hero power only applied when she was on the battlefield?

Before you look for the downvote button and realise there isn't one, consider this: The first Shadowform would still only deal 2 damage per ping, Justicar would still buff it to 4 healing, and Auchenai Soulpriest should probably cost 1 more and have 1 more health or something.
Edit: Cool, some other people like this idea too. What would this buff do to Priest in Wild? Would Priest then be the strongest class in Wild? If so by how much? Should there ever be any changes made to cards like Lightbomb?
Some kind of card that allows the hero power not to be useless when you have full health and nothing else to use the mana on. Turn 2: Healing your own face (or your opponents) for 0 is very FeelsBadMan. Something like...
Holy Shade, 1 Mana : 0/1. Stealth. Your hero power now adds health instead of restoring.
This would also give a more garenteed target for buffs as well.
2-3 very strong class commons to help arena
A damage based removal similar but better than holyfire.
A cheaper than 5 mana AOE that actually just damages stuff
Can guys please stop to hope for rebuilds of older cards for newer expansions? Lightbomb belongs to GvG and not to whatever comes up next. If you want to ask for something, bring new ideas instead of bringing old ones. Like think about what might fit into the Karazhan type or like ICC or whatever expansion is next and stop this lightbomb hype >< Come on be a bit creative and we will manage to improve the priest again

1 no other class has such a variety of AOEs. Yes, the strongest one is gone, point stands still.

Your ideas are basically giving priest exactly the same cards they had before rotation?
It's like... "Hey Blizz, please end this rotation thing. You know, priest sucks right now, so just bring back the cards it had before".

A good way to fix priest is to allow its hero power to increase your hit points by one if you’re at max health.
