Tess is the only boss i haven't beaten. other 3 i got. Time mage was first. Cannon second and today hound (although i got lucky but the 3 card cost charge hound with stealth +1 attack) is insane good.
I do want to add. I been playing tess at least 40 times and have yet to see the jade portion of the draw. am I that unlucky?
Want to add most of the time, I don't get double health or 1 cost hero power, I get crap. tonight been playing 15 times (Yes I counted) and not once did i get it. something is up. lol
I complete the Tess runs most consistently with the upgraded hero power ( 1 mana discover a spell twice a turn) . From there it seems it is mostly about tempo because you never runout of cards. And sometimes you just cheese the boss ( the whisperer with a turn 1 hero power and you get the 0mana 1damage spell +Echo from bosses hero power).
Final boss is usually doable if you can feed him constantly some minions(maybe generated with spells like journey below) and mill himwhen he drops fel reaver.
edit: also good are imho 2 healing to everything, +2 health for minions and 5 mana max cost for minions.
That was a really easy run even for me (i'm not the best in monster hunts and dungeon runs), i built a deck around weapons (with the discover a tess' weapon treasure, rummaging kobold etc) and pirates (yes, with multiple copies of patches in the deck, and it's 2k18)
What I had to do... after 88 boss fights that I won (I guess, or however it is calculated) is get the treasure that maxes HP, get the passive that doubles HP, get the cult of the wolf, and get kingsbane post ooze with lifesteal. Buff the ever-loving Christ out of that blade, then stab him til he dies. If he plays fel-reaver and has the blade in his deck, even better. Trust me, if you don't have insane luck, this whole ordeal is a serious pain. Just keep trying. You will get it eventually.
Honestly, I never picked double hp, picked it by mistake once and it still worked wonders (for w/e reason thought it was 2nd crystal), and as expected it didn't turn out useful except in one fight, not the last one. For the last one the best way is to get the treasure that reduces your hand cost by 3 (I personally don't get it most of the times if there are better options available, but if you get that card and you get lucky enough to pick it in the first turns...), have the treasure that reduces the cost of your non deck cards by 1 and draw cheap cards. I made him run out of cards several times before turn 5 due to cheap cards and letting him keep his 8/8 (ooze is very very helpful too).
If you go cheap deck, by turn 5 you'll have most of cards that are 3 or lower, including kill random target one. Last Tess boss doesn't have too many cards, so you can abuse of this, couple of taunts and oozes can manage it, although I generally prefer jade route.
I think the best way is to burn the kingsbane. Get him to draw a bunch of cards or add a bunch of spells to his hand the turn his kingsbane (he plays a minion that copies spells that you play, forget what it's called) is in the deck then he will auto press the button to draw after drawing a card. So if he has 9 cards in hand at the end of your turn he will burn it no matter what.
I did it with the Discover a Weapon card, taking the crossbow, then salvaging Deadly Poisons, which then worked with his Fel Reaver to burn his deck.

I did it with 1-cost hero power + that lifesteal weapon + minion removal spells. Jades are a trap.

He played his Fel Reaver and I proceeded burn his entire deck in a few turns. I had the double hp and the one mana double use effects.
.
multiple ways
secret deck with putricide , a ton of secrets and the 5 mana dude who gets 5 secrets
get cult of the wolf , sticky fingers and 2x hp for the smoothest run
keep shadow stepping 5 mana dude and keep playing him
you could also spam jade shurikens for huge jades
did it with secrets... and the 1 cost power. bear trap turns out to be pretty OP when you can slam it every turn.
I won using Edwin VanCleef, probably not the best or recommended strategy, but an 8/8 vancleef is very good against him on turn three
I'm joining the "How am I supposed to beat the last boss" wagon.
His first turn was Kingsbane + Deadly Poison + Deadly Poison = 5/3 weapon on turn 1..

Got him on the 2nd try using:
-Double heropower
-Double health
-Destroy minion get coins guy
-Malygos, spell damage and burn spells.

Finally beat her with a not so powerful deck, but with cheap spell I've burn all the deck of the final boss ;)
