So the recent buffs gave life to previously dead Mercs andd here is an ultrtra-synergistic build that takes full advantage of some of these buffs:
Opener: Nefarian on the left with the +6 attack equipment, Trigore in the middle (of course with the extra attack on Backlass) and Mukla on the right with his big brother. Trigore's Backlass will trigger when Nefarian attacks, then again when the Drakonid attacks and finally when Mukla attacks. Meanwhile Mukla's Big Brother protects your mercs from direct attacks and will always absorb an attack and a Trigore trigger in Trigore mirrors.
But the real strength of this build is the bench: Long'xin with Band of Bursting Novas, Millhouse (Arcane Powder buff) and Tyrande (Arcane Salvo buff). Long-xin enters the battle with +3 arcane damage from Mukla's brother, +3 for each Drakonid and +3 for each of the 3 opening mercs that died. That can easily be +15 arcane damage in some matchups which is insane (and will get +3 more from Starfire Blessing). A great thing is that the bench matches up very well against most popular bench units: Cookie does nothing against them, Cairne and Diablo get obliterated by Long'xin's Starfire Blessing if they dare use an AOE ability, Thrall at speed 6 allows all your units to cast a devastating ability first, Sinestra needs 2 full turns to do her AOE damage which is way too slow, Sylvanas as well. Very often Tyrande can land a chain of kills with Arcane Salvo which can obliterate the whole enemy comp. Or if all your units live for 1 turn you can use Tyrande and Millhouse to do a double Arcane Explosion AOE for 2x30 damage or more.
I've won more than I lost vs Kaz/Tri/Diablo (with Cairne/Vol'jin/Sylvanas bench). It's very tricky as it's not clear what you should attack on t1 (you can choose to kill either Kazakus (then your Trigore dies and Nefarian barely survives) or Trigore (then none of your guys die but Kazakus will get to act again building a bigger Diablo & Sylvanas), but I think sending Nefarian on Trigore and Mukla on Diablo is probably the best. What we want is ideally all 3 of our units to die together on turn 2 so that we can bring the whole Arcane comp out on t3
sorry.. I'm just not seeing it.. I'm trying everything, even what you suggested.. I'm still 0-for-infinity against that comp, whether its the Cairne/Vol'jin/sylvanas bench or a Cookie/Sinestra/Sylvanas
A 'counter' that I've seen is Kazakus-Trigore-Valeera (usually Vol'jin, Sylvanas, Cookie is the bench) with t1 summoning a taunt golem.
As for my comp, I actually figured out that t1 I should send everything to the enemy Trigore to kill it. Then a lot depends on where the 2 6/6 golems hit (the first hits Mukla's brother) as well as where did the bananas from Mukla land. If my Trigore finishes the turn with 29 or more HP that's great because now he doesn't die to just Vol'jin. So the enemy Kazakus will probably use his first ability to finish off both reds, but you hit one of the blues with Nefarian and then for t3 you bring out Long'xin and Tyrande and usually the enemy health totals are such that her 2nd ability can chain kill both blues and deal a ton of damage to Diablo too. And Long'xin casts his 2nd ability which means next turn the opponent cannot just AOE with Cairne+Diablo. I think I am around 50-50 vs the meta tyrant comp actually
despite my best efforts, I've never been able to do a clean sweep of my starters.. the people that run this comp have probably all wised up by now and know not to wipe them out. Even those that don't taunt with Kazakus
I also don't have Nefarian maxed (1 of 12 mercs I don't have maxed despite having no tasks left for anybody. Long'xin is another but her missing that 5 health has never been a factor), and while I don't think missing that +1/+5 has ever been a factor, who's to say?
I'm just really hoping we don't have to wait all the way until 23.4 for something to be done about Trigore. They HAVE to be able to see that that buff has completely destroyed the meta.
I also don't have Nefarian maxed, but actually it doesn't matter too much as there are no relevant breakpoints in this matchup where I need the +1 extra attack or a bit extra HP.
I am also sick and tired of Trigore though, as even the Trigore 'counters' are just other Trigore builds...
What would you propose to be done for Trigore? I can think of various soft nerfs:
Make the ability give +9 attack until end of turn only. Relevant in some matchups, but usually the main work in anyway done on turn 1.
Make the ability only damage the first 2 or 3 times a neighbor is damaged. Hard to evaluate how this would affect its value, it would definitely do wonders for the ridiculous animations in Trigore mirrors
Make that the ability does not trigger once Trigore's HP goes to negative. This is really frustrating as it is now, as it means that you cannot even kill him with an AOE ability without taking a ton of damage
I suppose they felt what it was before, triggering on first damage only, was too weak, hence the buff in the first place.
As for how I'd nerf it? Well, if simply reverting the buff is out of the question, make the effect an actual attack instead of a ranged effect.
Nice suggestion or trigger only with beasts.
The attack one and with beasts would be the best idea imo, him just attacking still would be to otkish on t1 and only with beasts it would do the same. If both methods are implemented he might become a nice niche hero in beast combs and not an auto-include in literally 90% of matchups.

gets murdered by Kazakus/Trigore/Diablo.. WHICH IS EVERY DECK NOW
I sincerely have no idea what they were thinking with this Trigore buff.
