I believe one of the biggest complaints that I have seen is in regards to excess coins for maxed mercs.
I haven't seen any suggestions on how to fix the excess coin issue, or perhaps I have not yet read any suggestions.
This is my thought on how to fix the issue of excess coins.
Create an option to purchase treasures for your merc team in pvp that uses coins to obtain the treasures for that fight. I don't often play pvp in mercenaries because I like to have some fun with my builds and that just isn't viable in pvp at the moment but throw in a treasure or two for orcs and my fun might increase and my interest in playing the pvp mode will increase. I will also be more interested in grinding out bounties to earn more coins.
Just an idea that maybe ya'll can add on to with your ideas or suggestions on how to utilized all of our excess coins into something that we all can look forward to using to increase our enjoyment of the game mode.
Easiest solution is to be able to convert between different owned mercs at the same rarity (not 1:1, IMO, due to differences in difficulty farming different coins), but still some issues with the sheer size of the glut of coins. PvP would probably be broken by some of the treasures, making it even more heavy grinding.
ETA - forgot the caveat of OWNED mercs. Feels like that's required to not trivialize stuff.
my suggestion would be make coins disenchantable/craftable.
create a coin dust system, where you could (number are for an example)
DE 100 specific rare coins to 25 coin dust
DE 100 specific epic coins to 50 coin dust
DE 100 specific legendary coins to 75 coin dust.
then, you could craft any specific coins from that coin dust, with a ratio like:
1 specific rare coin = 5 coin dust
1 specific epic coin = 10 coin dust
1 specific legendary coin = 15 coin dust
for example, you have DE'd 1500 Cariel (rare) + 500 Cairne (epic) + 100 Anduin (legendary) coins. you'd end up with 375+250+75=700 dust coins. from there, you could craft: 140 rare coins, 70 epic coins or 46 legendary coins
I didnt played with number too much there, tried to make them similar to what I think blizz would do. But yea anyone could change the ratios and make this system more generous or more stingy.
My point is just the idea and not the numbers basically.

Therefore, I left mercenaries one week ago. My biggest suggestion therefore is this: Leave the mode. We can only hope in a mode rework when people leave it and stop the in-game purchases.
Fortunately, the mode is constantly losing users. Hopefully, Blizz will do something about it, if they're not too busy for the harrassments.

U can also make the conversion via the training ground at lvl 4 with lvl 3 adding a feature where u can put 2 lvl 30 Mercs for 24h for a garantee 50 coins for the mercs. This way u can earn coins when ur not playing for specific Mercs to alleviate a little the grind problem

this is also a good idea. Training Grounds is absolutely useless for most players as of right now. If they make it so that players can get coins for their selected mercs, it would make Training Grounds infinitely better

Every week (or day?) the possible currency exchanges will randomly change between different mercenaries.
Bringing new concepts like coin dusts and new buildings is kind of sketchy in my opinion. I think converting them into "gold" would be the best solution. Ratio would be 50:1 or any suitable rate.
With this way, people can buy new packs or even minisets or battleground perks. This would also mean people will play this mode even if they are interested in battlegrounds or wild & standart.
If this solution will be too broken, let that gold be a different gold and let it be used only to buy Merc packs. But that would keep playerbases across game modes seperated. Maybe add wild packs, arena&duel tickets to the buyable list as well.
This way they don't have to change the rules of Merc packs drops. And they won't let people target spesific coins, which is not preferable method for this kind of game modes. If you get more excess coin, convert them and buy stuff.

Yes it is a good idea. But we will never see things like this. Blizz wants to sell coins. In this way, there is no need for coins purchase.
