I'm upset because I've opened 51 packs since the mini-set and still don't have Long'xin.
I'm upset because if Mercenaries packs work how I think they do, this is only going to get worse and worse the more mercs they add.
I'm upset because since the start of the season, I have yet to beat a human opponent in pvp. No, it's not the losses themselves, but rather the matchmaking. I have a pretty good and fun comp, but have been incredibly unlucky in running into opponents with hard counter comps. That's not the issue; the issue is when I lose to them, the matchmaking just pits me right back against the same opponent 3-4 times before just putting me against an AI.
I'm upset about my 70k+ in excess coins. Yeah, I know a lot of people are and some have it worse, but its been, what, 4, 5 months now and they won't even say what their -idea- for addressing the issue is?
I'm upset because we just had a patch yesterday, and apparently they're paying -some- attention to Mercenaries because they changed an attribute on Yu'lon, but they still left glaringly broken treasures like Positive Equilibrium, even though there are half a dozen bug report threads on it on the official forums. It gives the impression that they have a full team working on Battlegrounds when we see massive updates for it twice a month but only Doug the intern working on Mercenaries.
I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, and I agree with you, especially the issue with the legendary mercenaries.
Opening legendary mercenaries is even rarer than legendaries in Hearthstone itself, and is a bad experience.
One other thing I want to add is that grinding for legendary coins is just torture. I don't mind doing a long (heroic) bounty, but it feels bad if you don't get at least a few legendary coins for that mercenary in that bounty. It just feels like time wasted.
So far I have been lucky. With the last few additions, I have been able to pull all the Mercs from packs. If I don't pull the legendary, I buy the cheapest bundle the includes it.
I really hate the pack experience in Mercenaries. When I open a normal Hearthstone pack, at worse I get 40 Dust. Not great, but something. I have some Mercs maxed out, so there have been times that I open a Mercenaries pack and only get coins for Mercs that I have maxed. As of now, I got NOTHING from the pack.
That is why I do not open any Mercenaries packs. Right now I am sitting on about 20 packs until the next Merc drop. Then I will have the best chances of getting the new Mercs. I HATE this system. Packs should be rewards not something that makes you feel bad for opening.
eventually they gonna have to bring some sort of dupe protection, otherwise packs will contain "nothing" (all coins for already maxed mers). I opened 52 packs 2 weeks ago and 34 of them (yes I counted) contained "nothing"
they add a few mercs every now and then. merc packs lose value with each new mercs get added.
the sad thing is, even though with months of complaints, they have seem to be not caring at all. all they say is "we're investigating" and nothing when it comes to making the gamemode actually better, but oh all the monetization you can think of is there.
I am also very very upset about the same issue. I would like to play dragons I have a ton of coins in excess and I cannot because they are low.
Blizz is using a scam strategy in order to sell coins.

On the last Coin Concede Podcast with Ben Lee, he pretty much says that no one expected Mercenaries to get as many players as they did or how quick people would Max out their Mercs. They really thought it would have engagement similar to other Solo modes like Dungeon Runs. Boy where they wrong.
With any large company, things can take a long time to change. When working from home and with the law suit, I can see these issues being put on the back burner. My big hope is that with the next big update, many of these things get fixed. Sadly, it will probably be May/June since Standard rotation will probably be in April.
@NewBorn these are bullshit (not for your opinion but for what Blizz said).
They sold 130€ pre-order + always the shop full and they didn't know that things would go fast? We don't take the piss. They knew it, and they don't want to change it now (because how long does it take to put a vendor in-game that converts the surplus). They want to continue to sell the separate coins because they are thieves and this year Blizz went in shit with scandals, stock value and lost in games shares.
This is the truth.
What is the value now for who made that 130€ pre-order, when there are 50/100K in coins surplus?
Either way, the consumer then remembers the prick heads when he has to open his wallet. And when the consumer's trust is betrayed by the company (which tried to screw him) it doesn't heal.
Yeah, I think they whole monetization was horrible from beginning. I actually forgot all of the pre-order BS, since I did not buy any. Bundles that I don't think are valuable just pass out of my head.
The big "issue" is that I find the game mode really fun. Early Hearthstone was bad with no duplicate protection, so hopefully that will cross over too.
I does suck when the business side affects the creative side poorly (This is coming from a Corporate Accountant).
This mode has been half-baked from the beginning and it looks like they have no intention to fix it.
I'm never on board with people hating on the game over nothing and I've been playing every other mode since forever, but i quit mercenaries after about one month of hoping it will get better.
Even if everything else was working fine, the fact that there's neither duplicate protection in the packs nor a dust system is a dealbreaker for me.
At some point they will increase the power level of Mercenaries by adding new or upgrades to their abilities.
Now you think this is good news, but most of us will have extra coins for a few Mercenaries like Xyrella and Cariel, but we'll have a hard time maxing the other Mercs. Not to mention the ones they will add in the future.
You won't like the "solution", I can tell you that.
Does any one else remember the "Mythic" Level Bounties they talked about in the original reveal with a portal for your Bounties? They showed that off before we even knew what the game was and nothing has been said since.

And on the top of that chi-ji "super" event. We can get over 1000 coins... , which is half of a mercenary (or a bit over half after task reduction).

The former director of hearthstone has already said that the problem of excess coins is at the top of the priority queue right now.
:) Fortunately is on the top, we are waiting since November, I would like to see when they will solve the priorities on the bottom.
