I have decided to create a thread like this so that people could get help with their troubled tasks,

or a place to discuss the coins, tasks, and etc.

so lemme start..
I havent been opening my packs since I have wanted to get newer mercs, and also I was wondering what would happen if I complete all the tasks for all my owned mercs. what would stranger offer in that case? I have came pretty close to answering this, with only 10 total tasks left across all my owned mercs. I have more than 70 packs just sitting there :D I didnt wanted to open them to prevent me from getting new mercs so that there wont be additional characters to complete their 18 tasks.

however, the last patch changed this and kinda ruined my experimentation :D

they have changed the way stranger works. he now shows characters even if they have completed task 18. even if the character is maxed. this is dumb in my opinion, I wish they made it so that it can only show you the mercs that you havent maxed out. I havent picked a maxed merc from him yet, but I'm guessing it'll just give me 15 coins for it.

this can be good, as you could theoretically get consolation coins for your task 18 completed mercs. but I really really wish it wouldnt be showing my maxed mercs then... but the good part is, when you mouse over the stranger's offerings, it shows you what the new task will be, so thats great.

Approved your experiment. Please finish I’m also curious and currently doing thesame.

ok I did it. I have finished all the tasks for all the mercs I own. And I got to a Stranger. It just showed me 3 mercs in my collection, all of which I have already maxed out, and when I selected one, it just gave me 15 coins. I wish stranger would have offered you your not maxed mercs first. So basically it gave me "nothing"

and as I said before, I am really sad that I couldnt get to see the results before this new patch. This patch made stranger to show you your "tasks done" mercs... so bad.

also appearantly blizz changed or corrected the text of a few tasks. here's them:

 update: you dont get new daily tasks (except Toki) when you are done with every task. kinda obvious but just wanted to add that.

Are those 3 mercs that stranger showed among your current comp or among your entire collection? 

The Cookie Beast task was the worse. One of the only tasks that I did not finish in 1 Day. I just got too tired of making fish and getting auto loss when turn timer was up.

 none of those that offered were in my comp. I try to put my non-maxed mercs in my comp to get some coins for them.

the no dupe protection system is soooo bad. not only it prevents me to play what I want, but also it ruins the packs. I opened 88 packs that I was saving, and I can tell you, at least 30 of them contained "nothing" (all coins for my already maxed mercs). and no I'm not even counting portrait packs among those. (if portaits were to be added, it would be more than half of the packs).

going forward, I think they gonna have to implement a dupe protection system otherwise the packs will become increasingly useless. and its already at a pretty bad level. this would affect pack sales as well so I'm expecting a change, eventually.

one last thing: they really should add a way to craft portraits for legendaries. especially diamond. I think I've opened more than 200 packs overall, and did not even get 1 diamond portait. how tf a person is expected to get a diamond with that chance? they put all that work, all that effort into making those beautiful animations and overwhelmingly most of the players arent seeing them, at all. imagine paying 210 dollars and not getting even 1 diamond. what kind of a sick cosmetics economy is this?

They are extremely fast in fixing bugs, dust refunds & glitches but extremely slow in fixing things that will make them lose money. Those portrait bundles sells a lot.

Thanks for your research. Seems like the best way to open packs and do tasks is by next year were in you get the equal amount of random coins from task/packs for both new and old mercs.

I just found a huge visual glitch that almost made me submit a ticket to blizz support.

I just crafted Jaina, while I had 1900 coins for her. However, after crafting, I was left with 900 coins! I was shocked. I was pretty sure I had 1900 before and was about to lose my shit lol. Then I restarted the game and Jaina's coins have gove back up to 1400 again.

Just wanted to share this to let people know such bug exists. It seems like you just crafted a legendary merc for 1k coins but you have to restart your game.

 Yeah i actually submitted a ticket to support when i crafted Balinda Stonehearth and was left with -489 coins i even have a picture for that,luckily it solved itself upon restarting the game but i was very panicked.

after completing even more all 18 tasks per mercenary, I think I have opened 200+ packs now.

but now I reaaaly wonder.. Has anyone got a diamond portrait in a pack? I never did with my 200+ packs. I kinda wanna know the odds, am I just unlucky or did blizz make them as rare as winning the lottery?

I have 15 diamond portraits and 11 or12 of them came from standard packs (I can't recall if I opened diablo or if it was part of the preorder). I have no idea how many packs I have opened but I am sure that I spent quite a bit of gold and money in the process. 

I got a diamond Valeera from the packs I opened right after patch while I was trying to get Balinda. It's the only diamond I have (I didn't do any pre-orders).
My total (since start of mode) packs opened is probably around 150.

 damn 11?! I guess I was quite unlucky then, I'm thinking I should've gotten at least 1 after 200 packs.. :(

just got Galvangar's task 8: "use fighter coins 4 times."

it doesn't work.

while I was trying other stuff like visiting spirit healers, etc. I accidentally found out visiting protector coins counts for this task instead.

weird, makes me think he was a protector at first, then got changed. Like Ragnaros, you can see he was caster in the gameplay trailer or something.

just an FYI, for the 14th task of Wrathion, "use true form/fel reign 10 times", its not enough to use one of those abilities 10 times.

what the game actually wants you to do is play true form and then fel reign, 10 times, in that order. you cant use 10 fel reigns, you have to play both of those abilities one after the other 10 times. from another perspective, since there is no way of getting back the true form ability, you can only progress this quest 1 at a game.

 yea I was just about to correct myself, Thats true. After wroting here, I thought of that possibility and I just tested it and you are correct.

so basically the task is: "use True Form 10 times"

Anyone know the exact turn limit during bounties?
