Congrats to Blizzard, you killed mercs just a bit more. I have been queuing for the past hour trying to look for 5 comp teams, and from about 30 different opponents, not a single one had a 5+1 comp. I feel bad for wasting the time of so many opponents. This means that yet another way to progress into this game mode has been killed off, instead of offering a better, more interactive alternative.
Remove early mysterious stranger instead of offering more rewards for bigger bounties, or a discover type choice.
Remove win trading from pvp, instead of rewarding experience/rewards based on actions, ko's or so many other ways.
At this point, I am starting to feel guilty for playing the mode at all (even if I do it for free). I contribute to the number of active players, meaning I send the message that "players enjoy mercenaries a lot".
A game mode with potential that I was very open hearted about, but no, I don't want to spend $10 for a ninth (300) of a fully unlocked Thrall. I have never seen a game so blatantly cash-grabby as this one, to the point that it is shameless and insulting to the player base. 51 different currencies (world record?), more than half useless, plus there is no cap, meaning that people can sit on literally thousands of Cariel coins. There is no way to disenchant unwanted coins and there is no way to save for future power crept heroes they introduce, meaning that packs become almost useless after a certain point.
Were they exploits? Maybe. But don't blame their players when you create this steamy pile of garbage that is impossibly grindy.
They could have locked the concede until 2 mercs dies. I even feel a bit stressed by the thought of playing pvp now... They really know how to suck the joy out of a game. I guess this was a wake-up call to find another game

If you don't like it, then don't play it. Who is twisting your arm?
If there were exploits, or unintended ways to get stuff out of the game mode, and they took those away, well... that just says to me that the mode is even less polished than it was when it launched.
And it already does not seem polished in the slightest.

The main issue people seem to have is that now, if an opponent is losing, they can just concede early and deny rewards to their opponent. This means you are at the mercy of your opponent as to whether or not you get anything at all. Makes for a LOT of feels-bad situations. I dont play mercenaries at all, but the general consensus seems to be that a fix to win trading was needed, but the solution they settled on was horrible, for the reason stated above.

The biggest issue with players conceding in mercs is that sometimes by one or two mercs down, you know if you have a chance of winning or not. It often will come down to a coinflip to see who gets their fast minions to act first, then it snowballs out of control from there. It makes no sense to deny rewards for conceding early in a mode where matches are decided early.
The main issue isn't the Blizzard response, it is the GODDAM WIN TRADING SCUMBAG. Win trading goes agaisnt ToS since in messes up MMR and prevent ppl from actively playing the game. Win trading is shunned in EVERY SINGLE COMPETITIVE games. When win trading was being done in Destiny, Bungie had to disable Trials to prevent them. Yes banning is the fastest way to stop it but it takes time and evidence to ban these ppl because of consumer protection laws.
I think the best solution should have been to limit the amount of chest you get in a day instead of preventing rewards. However, in the end, if it wasn't for WIN TRADING SCUM Blizzard wouldn't have done this. OP (Andrei2007) here is the reason why the community is suffering.
Farming chests with the intend to concede right away was stupid anyway and obviously not intended, so a fix was ok imo.
BUT, fixing it by denying chest progression when my opponent concedes after losing one or two minions is even more stupid.
Team 5 does not have the ability to think through unintended consequences. They are completely ruled by the braindead Activision marketers. This 'game' might be the most pathetic release I have seen from a game company, at least since duels.

I got tired of facing off against people who would either insta concede or do so after they lost 2 minions. The solution I found was to replace one of my team with a low level never played character. So when the match maker tries to pair me against someone with an equal quality team it fails and pairs me against an NPC opponent. I can at least get my daily pvp chest win that way.
