I am tired of PPL saying devs dont care about their game because that is just a BS lie of an argument that PPL use cause they have nothing to say. Would u spend years Working on a project/work if u didnt care about it? No.
They did the change because they wanted PPL to PLAY the game mode, not just abuse a low lvl farm that wasnt intented to exist. Instead of being a negative Karen, how about u help find solutions ton make a positif impact. Or is that to hard?
I can agree with that. But were they living under a rock for the past two weeks that they've fixed it just now? You do understand that people that didn't have as much time as all those that abused it are really far behind?
I agree with what u r saying, however shitting on how bad it is isnt helping. Instead solutions, like a guaranteed task at the END of a lvl 30 heroic with the coins, a bundle choices of task at reset instead of random tasks, etc.
Feels like it to me as well. Had only two strangers in ~10 bounties so far today (Yeti Hunter Ranel on normal), while being over 50% yesterday... Should this turn out to be true and not just some unlucky streak, I'll be calling it quits as well, cause that would truly be unreasonable.

It's just a well-known mechanism used to get things kickstarted and get people hooked / feel committed. We've seen it at the start of WoW classic as well with rigged Scarlet Monastery raids and how they resolved it.
The one thing to do with this game mode, actually with this entire company, is to ignore it hard.
I can semi-confirm this. This morning (europe server), I farmed Lord Banehollow normal (Felwood L28) roughly 30 times, the stranger appeared 15 times, this is ~ 50 %. Just now I farmed the same bounty 15 times and the stranger only appeared 4 times. My guess is they stealth-nerfed the appearance from 50 to 33 or even 25 %. Anyone has more data to support this ?
TBH this nerf is really unnecessary since higher merc tasks require much more effort to complete, which in itself makes the user play longer missions or to complete a full run. Yes with this abuse you get tasks really quick, but you still have to complete them which makes you put more time anyways.
They haven't stranger rates since yesterday. You're just paranoïd. Basically each day that someone gets low variance he will assume a stealth nerf happened. Don't forget they announced the nerf on the official forum. If they did a stealth nerf and people prove it (which wouldn't be that hard with all the data agregated) then it would be such an uproar that'd definitly destroy Blizzard's reputation for good. You can't do shady things like this easily.

I really hope you are right with people only being paranoid and no stealth nerf happening. What they've announced however was a change in the mechanic of how the mysterious stranger spawns, not a change to the spawn rates. And let's be real here, Blizzard aren't exactly "strangers" to unannounced, undocumented stealth nerfs...

To really fly-fuck it. They said that they added a modifier to the appearance rate ;) If this also mean that mysterious stranger can appear more frequently at certain level gaps is unknown to me
The whole thing reeks to me. Their post says "adjusted" or "added a modifier", the values aren't specified much less clear to the players. IMO if this was a good change (even from their saintly perspective) I'd imagine they would be more transparent. TLDR after taking a good look at the situation, it seems, to me, that they indeed nerfed the rate at which tasks are giving in order to nerf the progression (maybe they thought it was going too fast?). And also to justify the change by saying: "its not the way we intended to be played" is an invalid argument, since we, players, should decide what we do with the challenges presented to us in the games we play, not the other way around. I stopped playing (after grinding for many hours) until they fix it or, at least come up with a more transparent explanation.
This is ridiculous, I have spent over $300 on Mercenaries and bought every other offer on Hearthstone this year, over $1,000 so far. Now playing level 30 Adventures and not getting any Quest in past 2 hours. I'm about to say screw Hearthstone entirely and stop giving them my money. Feeling really frustrated with this and hope they fix it soon or I'm out for good.
FortyDust, don't you find it funny that after more than six f..king years in this forum, it's the first time I'm talking about something I'm not fully informed about (which I made clear in my post), yet you didn't waste any time to point it out while defending greedy a$$ Bli$$ard in the process?
Well, it turns out that I wasn't fully aware of people's reasons for farming tasks, so I have to take back the part about Blizzard not benefiting from the change. Clearly, it's a bit harder to get coins now, and that will surely increase the demand for packs and coin bundles.
However, in my opinion, anyone who talks about "greedy a$$ Bli$$ard" has a screw loose. Blizzard is a subsidiary of a publicly traded company. Of course they will do everything in their power to entice people to spend money on their products. This isn't some amazing revelation, and it doesn't make them wrong or evil. On the contrary, it's the mostethical thing for them to do because they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to make as much money as possible.
If you think it's somehow more morally upstanding to give away free stuff to a bunch of entitled jerks on the internet, you simply don't understand the world you are living in.

Ok, I will edit this post because I was too harsh with the world we live in and it's not everyone's fault, sorry.
FortyDust, don't worry, I fully understand it, and I know Bli$$ard is just a company. But because I understand them, does that mean I have to be on their side? Of course not, that would be silly. I'm a costumer and so I always will be on the costumer's side no matter what.

And why shouldn't us do everything in our power to benefit ourselves? Seriously, who cares about their shareholders, it's their problem, not ours.
And please, don't mention business ethics here or in any other website with content related to Activision Blizzard's, there is a slim chance you will make Bobby Kotick lose his mind. :P

This fcking company piss me off. Is the most hateful game company of the world
There must have been another silent nerf.
Firstly, both pc and mobile app wanted an update but there are no patch notes.
Secondly, I have been farming for like 3 hours straight now and here are my results:
Normal 2/5 - 2 tasks out of 10
Normal 2/6 - 2 tasks out of 10
Heroic 2/5 - 3 tasks out of 10
Heroic 2/6 - 3 tasks out of 10
This is beyond bad rng. A heroic lvl 29 dungeon shouldnt be affected by the "low lvl" nerf.

So many damn potatoes… I won’t be able to eat French fries for a week.
Yeah, I'm experiencing similar low rates here too. It started yesterday 2 hours before reset.

Agreed, pissed off now and about to say fuck it for good. I have been loyal player for years playing almost every day. This is bs!#*@!
