I'm getting destroyed on this bounty, are their any good strategies that aren't stupid expensive I can use or is it just get lucky with treasures? I'm a F2P player and the legendaries I've managed to open out of packs are Malfurion and Thrall.
I think the only thing that might work that I haven't tried yet is to save Millhouse for a 1v1 after the mass explosion and use the +5 Arcane Damage double Greater Arcane Missiles treasure which at my current level would do 168 then Arcane Explosion for 22 before he can kill Millhouse for a theoretical total of 190. If Arcane Bolt is fast enough (I don't remember Thaurissan's speed off the top of my head) that would do 30 I think, so 198. That might work, if not then I guess I got some Millhouse grinding to do.
EDIT: I did it, didn't need the treasure but definitely close. This is the only bounty I've had trouble with, and now that I've beaten it, I've noticed something, this is the only bounty that rewards Diablo coins. WOW that is painful, I don't mind grinding in most games but that is definitely annoying for F2P grinding.
I got to the final encounter with a full team, and started with the popular Xyrella, Cariel Roame, Blademaster Samuro. For some reason I thought Xyrella would either live with her 67+ health or her treasure death rattle full heal would help, neither did. I also tried to get Samuro immune the turn the bomb would go off but I don't remember why that didn't happen, I think that's a good strategy but I don't know if it works. I shot as much damage as I could at Thaurissan before the bombs could go off. When the full clear happened I punched in my last 3 remaining, Millhouse, Rokara, and Thrall. Thrall is decent but is not necessary (he's just a good legendary I got lucky enough to pull, I realize you might not have him).
Millhouse has enough health to survive 1 hit but Greater Arcane Missile is (I think) 2 speed slower than Thaurissan's attack, so you can't Arcane Bolt then GAM for more damage. Thaurissan should be by himself, so start with GAM and the next turn Arcane Bolt. In terms of treasure I had Arcane Spell Damage +3, the treasure that gives +5 and double GAM is more than enough I think. Another strategy I just thought of for treasure is the fill your board with 1/1s of this Merc, stacking Arcane Bolt at 6 speed is alot of damage against his 7 speed attack that only hits 3 enemies (if he has another attack after Moira dies I haven't seen it).
Don't bother trying to stack Arcane Bolt at the start, Millhouse dies way too quickly before or during the bombs going off. Save him for after hopefully with GAM off cooldown. Hope this helps.
Emperor didn't give me too much of an issue, though obv, not on HC yet. Most of my damage was done with Samuro shenanigans (Samuro, Xyrelia, Rokara since there's minimal need for taunt) at the start. When bombs went off and stuff barely survived, pushed a bit more damage and then cleared up with backline of Grom/Cornelius/Cariel. Not as tight as the winterspring two that should be done with fire, or even Grimstone and the high pulsing damage.
As for treasures, Samuro wants one of windfury, immune when attacking, or damage on deathrattle. Xyrelia had cleaving debuff spell. Rokara had saronite armor, which certainly helped a bit. Probably a few passive tribal start of game buffs from the others. Cornelius and Grom both feel pretty meh, though, could do with alternatives.
Heh, i also had trouble with it, but i was lucky to get on 2 of my mercs the valanyr treasure that fully heals all party. Only had to use one of it and it healed the bombs as well and i kept them alive till the end, 3 mercs died but from the start imanaged to grind him down with Anduin and finished him off with Millhouse.
I did this twice because I hadn't unlocked the storyline quest on the first try. #1 I was lucky to get the Mukla treasure which makes him only take 1 damage at a time but resets his health to 6 so I just buffed him up and outtanked it, taking care to position the kegs to soak up the damage.
Second time, I was able to get Bru'kan to outdps him (that Tempest Fury treasure is really good) - I believe I also used the "Inspiring Presence" treasure ability to soak up a lot of damage on the big explosion turn.
Garr was hilarious though because I had Hunting Party on Muk'la, which meant I took massive burst damage from him blowing up all his firesworn immediately, then heal, heal, heal through the next couple of turns, while Bru'kan was charging up.
I killed Thaurusan Turn 2 and his Wife Turn 1 with a nature build with bru'kan, Guff, and Lady Anacondra. completely free to play. if you do this combo right you go into the final fight with +8ish nature damage and can easily burst him down, I saw this thread existed before I played him, expected a challenge and was disappointed. it helped that everyone was ranged, so I didn't actually kill the Abomination until after both the Dwarves were dead.
A fully ranged team for nuking is the way to go. Brukan, Guff, Xyrella frontline for Emp himself - even without spelldam it'll carve through his 200HP. Usually running Xyrella/Cariel/Samuro for trash, Xyrella pulls double duty so I've got Grom in as a Samuro activator if things go wrong on Emp and the kegs somehow explode. Pretty reliable now, much better than Samuro plans.
It's the trash that scares me most for when I get to do it HC.

One way to do it is gib him with mages before the barrels blow up. There are no warriors in the encounter, so there is no reason not to run three mages. If you want to farm for him in Felwood, Anduin+Velen+Xyrella is the team I use for bounty farming in BRM. Brukan+Guff+Malf would also work, or Vol’Jin+Tamsin+Natalie, maybe.
With the Holy lineup, I Blinding Luminance a warrior turn 1, so the pack can’t kill anything, and then turn 2, you Velen’s Blessing for a double Holy Nova. Velen and Anduin throw around a ton of heals while also doing damage, and on Thaurrisan, the healing keeps the barrels up longer. Since mages don’t need to attack, you also don’t have to kill the abomination before going HAM on the Emperor.

can you say with what spells and upgrades?
I believe it was Brukan's +2 spell damage, double lightning bolt charm
Anacondra: +2 Nature Damage, +3/+10 to Trolls, Taurens, and Night Elves
Guff: +5 Spell Damage (Elite Reward).
obviously this exact setup can't be achieved every time, but You usually also don't need to kill him turn 2 before he even acts. I only felt the need to kill him so soon because I accidentally killed Moira on turn 1 by attacking her with anacondra. if you left her alive you could probably kill him much more leisurely

What was your method? I am having trouble with this encounter as well.
Was it to stall for as long as you can while increasing Millhouses arcane damage, before doing large burst damage with Greater Arcane Missiles?
Many thanks

I managed to complete this challenge with a Mortal Strike treasure, hitting the boss before the kegs explode.
I wasn't sure if the bombs would trigger the Thaurissan Heal (because im not sure if that's fire damage as well).
Comp: Xyrella, Samuro, Cornelius (with level 7 equipment, have to say)
Bench: Vol'Jin, Tamsin, Cariel

This guy used all F2P mercs.

I just emulated what he did. AI does the same thing over and over so it just works. I just teplaced Grommash with Thrall to make it easier.
you ve got a rare concept of what F2P means
Bru'kan, Malfurion and Guff is such a cheese, you feel dirty afterwards....
Took me two turns the first time. Nuked hum with shadow damage then his wife destroyed the barrels and killed everyone. I'll take it!
