I have played Dungeon run once, and beat it first try pretty easily... with Priest.
If you are having trouble use the Passive that grants you +1 Mana Crystal, the passive that increases the cost of all enemy cards by 1, the card that destroys 2 enemy Mana Crystals and Discards 2 of their cards and the 1 mana spell that draws until your hand is full.
Then I drafted Dragon and Highlander cards. None of the dumb options, just take the consistently good Priest cards.
I'd say it is more a matter of knowing the bosses and treasures choices. I hit a brick wall with warrior for a dozen or so runs before finally getting it. So far I completed 5 classes out of nine, only had 1 one shot (Paladin), and the latter classes required less tries than the others.
Overall it is a really fun mode. May feel random at some points, haven't still beaten some bosses like the secret room or Azari, but I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. Don't give up !
Had high hopes for dungeon runs, but there is 0 skill and its all based on if you happen to get really lucky in
1. deck synergy
2. correct bosses for your synergy and
3. you drawing perfectly.
so once you high roll all 3 of those things only then can you have a small chance at winning a run instead of getting smashed into the ground on the last boss or 2. Unfair match ups do not equal difficult ones, but the developers over at blizzard seem to not understand that.
It is strange, I actually felt the opposite. I felt like I needed to get really unlucky not to finish my dungeons. So far I've made 8 Runs total, I completed 5 of them, the other 3 I got really unlucky in the last and second to last boss. I've had some really good and some really mediocre decks, but that didn't stop me.
There is a good amount of RNG influence in this, yes, but you can overcome that by doing a few more runs. Other than that, it might actually be some lack of technical skill or strategy to help you close out the dungeons...
Boss 1-6 is mostly free wins, it is 7 and 8 that is the real rng fest. Take Trap Room for example, 5 random secrets each triggering a 3/3 minion. Repentance->Snipe->Cat Trick->Counterspell->Mana Bind. That was a full board of minions if I played any of the starting cards on hand. This was with Warrior I believe... every boss was super easy until that one. The bosses you get up against matter so much that just seeing the boss name can make you give up depending on how you built that deck.
Just take Firebats Mill rogue he got. 200hp, Wish and 4-5 oracles. He breezed through every boss without they even seem to have 1% chance of beating him. If he had gotten Azaril as last boss he would have died standing no chance at all.
Mage on the other side I have 50+ boss wins, but haven't finished. Always get smashed by last boss. Paladin 1st try, Shaman 30+ and same problem like Mage.
RNG is RNG, but I Like it. If I can beat them all in 1st try then it would not be fun.
Actually I haven't had so much fun in HS for months. I really don't understand OP rant. If you don't like that mode don't play it.
I have th opposite problem from you, I first tried Shaman and Mage, but cant beat priest
Adventures in Heroic were the same RNG that Dungeons Run: you just replay over and over until you got the perfect draws and win. Now you have to play other easy bosses before fighting the big one, but the concept is almost the same: RNG. I don't even know why people were expecting something different, since it was clear by minute one that randomness would have been a most important part of DR.

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
If you look at some pro runs it becomes pretty clear that dungeon run has a high skillcap. Its amazing how its still possible to clear the dungeon with pretty weak drafts.
People fail at this, than start crying about RNG and bad drafts but truth is theyr just not good enough at the game.
Yeah, I agree. First 5-6 bosses can be consistently beaten with understanding of the boss and careful planning. Last 2 (or 3) is completely RNG-based. Especially the last one, which boss you encounter and draw just decide the game. No skill involved at all.

DisguisedToast, one of your "pro" tried $30,000 dungeon challenge with like 10 new accounts and you go and see how "consistent" and "high skillcap" it was.
I would recommend to OP to go complete Heroic Blackrock Mountain and then come back and talk about luck and RNG.
This mode is one of the best modes Blizzard has come up with to date with more replayability than ever before and a consistent balance among all classes (holy smokes). There is a ton of skill and planning involved, while learning the multitude of bosses that you can get.
Hell, I finished 9/9 today and instead of going to play a ladder match I started another dungeon run, it's just that fun.
It's a great mode, i just don't have the patience to beat all nine.Or skill. I've only beaten two, and it was hunter and druid. The two classes i've spent the most time playing with on the ladder and my only golden classes
I am trying to focus on one at a time. I take Druid to the last boss every time and get rick rolled. EVERY TIME. I plan ahead but the RNG gods do not like me I guess.
The difficulty jump between Boss 6/7-7/8 is too great. It should gradually ramp up, not be super easy than randomly impossible. Otherwise I really like the mode, it's fun to try different strategies.

I beat druid pretty easy, but I got the 5 cost power treasure and took all the most over powered legendaries.

"forever hearthstone" players have just arrived lul
I like dugeon runs. I just wish there was more incentive to keep doing them.
Why does anyone even care if it does well in a stupid RNG fight vs the AI ?
I only care how well I do in ranked vs real people and not much even there .
Lol I think dungeon run is great I only completed it once with Paladingot so close with Hunter but toggwaggle kept using board clear for 6 times
I agree that it is mostly fun, but the last 2 druids runs have be stupidly impossible.
1st Run: Boss 7 Chronomancer.
Turn 1: Astral Portal -> Tyrantus. Turn 2: -> Archmage's Apprentice. Turn 3: Archmage's Insight -> Proceed to 9 cards with Looming Precense, in to 2nd Astral Portal pulling Archmage Antonidas-> GG.
I didn't even get a card on board.
2nd Run: Boss 8 Azaril.
Lost every single powercard drafted besides Deathwing with his deck milling.
I've beaten him before with the luck of him not burning key cards... but it's ridiculous how rng some of the fights are.

I have the opposite

Finally, beat 8/8 with all classes. It was fun, but not as priest.
