I don't understand how you're supposed to beat this guy. 70 hp, several board clears, constant 5/5s, tons of removal, overpowered card draw. And to top it off he starts with an extra 3 mana. Anybody else clear this guy?
EDIT: Just ran into the trapped room. What the fuck blizz
EDIT 2: Beat him for the first time with warrior. Cloak of invisibility is strong against him, he'll even shadow word pain his own minions which is funny. Wasn't easy though, I only ended up winning because my 9/9 loyal servant won a 10 minion brawl. Since posting this I've played against Toggwaggle, the hoarding dragon, azari, and the beam warlock quest guy. Togwaggle seems like the hardest one but the darkness, at least for me, is a close second.
EDIT 3: After getting the cardback and fighting all the bosses, I continue to think darkness and togwaggle are the hardest, however, Azari can really screw you over if you're unlucky. Still, really enjoyed the dungeon run, hope blizzard adds more to it or does something like it in the future.
Passives: 1) upgrade your hero power and make it cost 1 2) +1/+1 to all minions
It was hard fight, but I killed him on fatague, when all of his cards in hands end. I just has a lot of 2/2 recruits which helped me to constantly clear board.
I beat the darkness with mill rogue so did firebat. you can't really rush down something with more health than you and bigger minions, so you have to be able to last a while for him to build up a board of his summons, and then clear them all, while building your own big board, then you start going for board control hard. Or if you are mill rogue you literally just draw through your deck and do whatever it takes to not die each turn, or if you are mill rogue like firebat got you have 200 health and you basically just win the game automatically.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
I beat The Darkness just now as hunter, by having permanent stealth on my guys. There were a ton of turns where he just auto hero powered and passed. He had an almost full hand most of the time. Even burned a couple of his cards by overdraw. He cleared me a lot, but I was able to reload ... biggest challenge was managing my candles and guessing how much damage it was OK to let him do to me. But the permastealth probably saved my bacon more than anything else. And two Call of the Wild helped too.
From all the final bosses i fought (im only missing Azari), i think the Darkness is the easiest. problem is the amount of removal he gets. i Beated him with Jade rogue and token paladin.
I got lucky and cleared him 2nd try with mage using Justicar's Ring (The one that make Mage's Hero Power (1) cost and deal 2 dmg) and Cloak of Invisibility (The one that make minions stealth permanently). I chose all "Heroic Power" packs and got 2 Coldarra Drakes, with 5-6 Fallen Heroes, got 1 Coldarra turn 6, 1 Fallen Hero turn 3, cleared his Candles turn 4,5 or sth and then spam hero power for 30 dmg a turn. It's a really fun experimemt. I won having 2 Candle clears left and some freeze and the (3) cost that silence and destroy enemy board in my hand.
P/s: Actually I bm-ed him and got the Coldarra shuffled back to my deck but it does not matter after all because he only have 4 HP left xD.
Perma-stealth and a DK Uther made relatively short work of him. Probably had the game controlled enough to win anyway, but the 4 horsemen did work! Only other endboss I've killed has been Azari, but i can't speak to his power as I'd got 7 treasures from the treasure room the room before (turns out that a cave hydra, dinomancy, and windfury go prettty well together!).
Wow seven treasures? I am on 8/9 classes and did like 25+ runs and 75% of the times only lose to the last boss but haven't came across this Treasure Room yet! Is it a hard encounter like the Trapped Room?

Killed him with paladin build on recruits.

I fatigued him with a Quest Mage lol
I didn't face this guy but sometimes it feels like you're running a good setup and all of a sudden you get a boss that defeats you by default.
My first run i ran into Chronomancer at match 7 and pulled out a 12/12 Deathwing at turn one. What the hell are you supposed to do about that?
Judging by the difficulty I'm having at round 6 and 7, I'm dreading getting to one of the final bosses lol.
Good luck!
Nature is the Day.
Man is the Sun.
Woman is the Moon.
The Stone is the Sky.
The Art is the Way.
This and trapped room are the two giving me issue so far.
defeated him with Lord Jaraxxus as mage xD

Beat him with a really good Wish so I guess you kinda need to get lucky.
Sounds like fatigue is the only way to beat him consistently.
I fatigued/outlasted him with a handlock/c'thun warlock with double hp. It was really fun xD

You just need Cloak of Invisibility. Thats all.

Yeah.
Like a poster above I used Perma-stealth and DK Uther for exodia kill.
