Just lost my third dungeon run, for the third time to this little scumbag. Seems like a really fun mode tho, so good job to bliz, but man, I hope not to run into this guy again...he's in chaaaaarge now.
starting to piss me off right now, any minion he plays has charge. for me that is not a fun encouter at all, and it takes away all of the fun of this game mode.
excepting for the one that plays counterspell as a hero-power the Anti-Spell guys (both versions of the trogg guy) and there's another different to the trogg...i really don't like those guys...i think the second iteration of candlebear is also really annoying but anyone on the forum already know that i consider charge and unnecessary and unfun mechanic in this game because there are no instants in this game (trap cards), but that was obvious when they design a boss around a badly designed mechanic.
I think my most frustrating so far is the troggs and the minion copying.
That said I beat the darknes 8/8 2nd run on warrior with 1 card. Already had double deathrattles going in since at the time itnwas the only good option with my 1 deathrattle. After boss 7 i had to choose between 1 mana fill hand and the 5/1 wax rager. Ultimately went for the infinite ragers even though filling my hand is amazing with all my 7+ mana legendaries that cost 5 mana.
Got the darkness. Milled hand for rager and pulled him on turn 3. Literally gg. Just cleared board and went every turn. Won on turn 7.
Against Xol I was just lucky with my deck. I let him play quest and fill board with 3/2s so he could do nothing and just milled him. It was easy because my priest had a Reno and also the double starting health passive so I had 100 health that got refilled twice since I also got Reno bounced to my deck from his beam. Really funny, but a win nonetheless.
You'll utterly ruin the darkness if you take was ragrr. He really is a piece of cake and wax rager is an amazing card for board even beyond the 1 encounter. Cant go wrong. Double deathrattle just makes him broken beyond belief.

Broken beyond belief would be the Paladin epic weapon with double death rattle. I wound up with a 140/70 beetle in play one game.
I find him to be pretty OP if he's a late boss where all minions have charge passive, if you get him first 4 he's a free win. Definitely a boss we don't want to see games 5-7.
Idk they can all be fairly RNG dependant depending on the deck you have. Some just hard counter and its GG.
I've completed 7/9 as of this morning and I'm averaging 4 runs per class for full clear. Warrior is now at 5 and counting. Basically 30 runs so far and counting. Point - you get rng'd sometimes.
Anyone who's completed BlackRock Heroic knows that it's just patience to complete this over content. @OP stay committed you'll get it!
My very first dungeon run I ran over Candlebeard with a highlander mage deck. Pretty much just ran him out of cards. My last run I had a mage deck with tons of board clears and double health, and I thought he would be easy (easy to run out of cards with double health), but he rolled me with Vanish, Genzo, The Shark, Sea Giants, and charging poison minions

Played against him yesterday. Didn't have any problems at all and i just rolled over him.
Funny, I defeated him in all three Encounters I had.
I have lost two finals in row with Hunter vs Azari the Devourer. Really pissed...
Beat both versions of candlebeard without issue, maybe you are unlucky?

Both get out of hand extremly fast, killing you at round ~5-6 with evolved creatures or simply stomp you turn 10 with 3 12/12 + adds

How the hell are you supposed to defeat Toggwaggle. He never runs out of cards and the RNG is always terrible.
AH and it just fits for Candlebeard to have Vicious Shitling. Are they even self aware of how stupid that shit card is?
