Is anyone else at the point in duels where they surrender the first round to see if they get a treasure that's actually worth continuing with? Without one of the better treasures it's almost impossible to get to 12 wins so i kind of don't feel like playing that first round every time just to get a shitty treasure selection.
no because that's the whole point of the format, it's by far the least competitive one and it's current design has very high variance. if you are doing it purely to chase 12 win achievement i get it, but otherwise you are just making the meta more stale for everyone because you aren't willing to play with less than optimal treasures.
..and negligigble skill. The average tavern brawl is more fair. I was so hyped for this mode prior to playing it, having loved dungeon runs and arena. Yet somehow they managed to mess up the combination. Arena is so much better, and the mode is on life support. Constructed pisses people off by being so swingy - duels feels a thousand times over worse in that respect. How am I supposed to have fun in a head-to-head game where I can't manage my risk, improve over time...its a coin flip mode, even worse that straight constructed.
I'd rather pay gold to play dungeon run by myself than play duels for free + rewards. that is how shitty it is.
The fast death of this mode and the continued success of battlegrounds should send a loud message to blizzard regarding RNG.

I dont understand all the hate for duels. I managed 10 win runs with suboptimal treasures...
There is for sure room for improvement. Its still new...
Me on the other side just cant stand arena...never understood why i should play it. It the opposite of why i play the game "building synergies"
