Duels will get rewards as the arena does but you will need to pay and the mode is dull anyway
now, bgs sole purpose was to attract new players as it’s very different to their - purchase cards business model. It worked well but at the expansion announcement last week they said “ we will be supporting bgs for the foreseeable future” which is interesting as they didn’t say anything about enhancements and it’s a weird thing to say unless you are planning to stop the mode at some point.
I agree with you - they should have rewards for bgs, why is it any different to other modes? 99% of the quests cannot be completed by playing bgs either.
Absolutely battlegrounds need this. I don't understand why they didn't introduce some kind of reward structure when they re-did the ranking system a few weeks back.
Duels kinda has rewards, atleast it will once launched. What duels needs is to have the 10g for 3 wins rule applied. It works in arena there is no reason it shouldn't work in Duels...except greed and meanness from Blizzard.

Standard/Wild/Duels - You need to invest in cards
Duels/Arena - Entrance fee every run
BGs - 1 time fee
Brawls - Free most of the time
I can see them adding rewards to BGs and Brawls if the fees were recurring.
Duels will overtake constructed for sure so I hope they will add monthly rewards for it.
I doubt that duel will be even more popular than arena .
First it requires cards from VERY old adventures (karazhan and naxxramas) i know a lot of people playing wild at even high legend that do not have those expansion( just crafted the few good cards) . So it limits the player base.
The treasures/passives are so overpowered that can make a lot of no games. I play wild and see some crazy decks and plays, but i always know there is a way i could have answered to that, or that it is just my counter.
on duels? passive deathratle active when cast, play wax elemental with paladin. GG WP the game is over unless you have devolving missiles. And there is much worse offenders. They really need to step up their game on duels to be at least on par with Arena. Summoning a good totem and basic totem is as good as discarding and drawing a card??
For players that don't care about ranked mode anymore.
Ehm, the whole point of the economic rework is to not force players into playing a specific mode. It's supposed to be designed in such a way that you can earn any resource no matter which mode you are playing.
“Duels will get rewards as the arena does but you will need to pay and the mode is dull anyway “ are saying it cause you are playing a beta mode it not even fully out and you are calling it dull.

It does not require cards from old adventures. It simply allows them. For now. There are plenty of cards from Classic, Basic and Scholomance that make a perfectly good starting deck. A large proportion of a Duel deck's power comes from its Hero Power, Treasures and drafted buckets of cards (which don't need to be in your collection).
They've also stated that the sets allowed in Duels will rotate over time, similar to Arena. So if you don't have Karazhan and Naxxramas, you can always wait for a rotation where you do have cards. Or use dust to craft specific cards that you feel your Duel deck can't live without. But again, the Classic/Basic/Scholomance (or whatever Standard sets rotate in) have plenty of viable options. Having cards from Kara/Naxx is nice, and sure, it offers a slight advantage (as any increase in options would). But it's not a wide gulf. Play well, draft well, and you'll be fine.
Really do wish people would stop moaning about duels. Personally, it’s become my new favourite mode. Love it and it’ll only get better so chin up buttercup.
What they have said already, is that playing BG will at least get better rewarded than currently, which I assume is going to mean, the the EXP you earn per game are going to reflect at least slightly more that a single game of Battlegrounds can take as long as 5 games in constructed. Of course, we still don't know how exactly EXP will translate into gold exactly, and it's a whole different question how, under the new system, BG would compare to constructed, but this was said during an interview:
"As someone who used to play entirely Standard and Wild and now plays a lot of Battlegrounds instead, I'm not getting much out of my 10 gold every few wins as someone just playing the ladder. So for players like me who want the gold to buy packs but wants to play Battlegrounds instead, you'll get rewarded better for playing the game mode you want to play."
So, as little as it means, it would hopefully translate to more than 10g per hour.
As fas as seasonal rewards are concerned... it's a bit debatable, considering that you are supposed to be able to make progress with the modes you enjoy playing. When you positively encourage someone to play one mode over the other, it goes against that idea. But then again, the seasonal rewards on Ranked remain as well and the potential rewards for Arena are WAY higher also. So, I think it wouldn't be unfair, to say the least, if BG had it's own "ladder" or a seasonal treasure chest, and hands out some rewards based on your performance within a certain period of time. It doesn't have to be much, but something that motivates you to play BG from time to time at least would be nice. As the gold issue already highlights, it just feels stupid that you have to decide whether you want to have fun or whether you want to make gold/get rewards. Maybe the new system is enough that you don't feel punished for enjoying Battlegrounds anymore (hopefully), but I think it wouldn't hurt if you get positively encouraged to play it as well.
However, I'd get rid of the MMR system and install something else, or at least make the rewards independent of MMR. Right now, the whole MMR thing is just a d-measuring contest, that doesn't even serve as a comparative element, because everyone is put together with players based on a hidden MMR (not the one you can see), and progression is based on that as well, so an experienced player will have harder time progressing on 6000, than an inexperienced player who managed to get to 8000. It's completely pointless. And that's before we discuss group playing.
Something I could imagine is that for monthly BG rewards, they could add a score that tracks your placements, and you get points based on your placements regardless of your MMR, like 0 points for 8th place (to prevent point-grinding by quitting instantly), 1 point for 7th place, 2 points for 6th place and so on, with 1st place awarding 8 points. And then, like Constructed, you have tiers for the sore you've reached, and if you reach the highest tier, you get the most rewards.
For players that don't care about ranked mode anymore.
Probably, but, i think the reward system could have something for it coming.

Pretty imposible to overtake constructed
I am sure that it will be on par with constructed if they implement a monthly reward.

There’s no way this will happen if you need 150 gold to get a chance of getting a reward each time

no it will not... duels will die off in the next year... its fucking borring after few games
We will see.
I thought exactly the same would happen to BGs and there it is...
Haha, same, the popularity of BGs is proof positive that I have zero skill at predicting what player will and will not enjoy!
