I've tried to watch few games on Twitch. It's painfully boring to watch them.
I also Despise the idea of forcing our hand to preorder to play it. As a person that always preorders the 80 dollar bundle even if I have 20k gold, I will skip this one and buy packs with gold.
After doing my research I found out that the pink 'stuff' that appeared onto hearthstone cards must, in fact, have been coronavirus. It has through hearthstone spread across the globe and infected all computers. And because too few people played hearthstone with plastic gloves on they got infected through their computer. Thus coronavirus is Hearthstone's fault and I expect a total of 3 packs from each expansion to be given to all coronavirus victims.

Don't support predatory marketing strategies.
What is predatory about it? You pay to play the early access, think of it as pre-order.
I always wanted a game mode where you can make your own deck and earn gold like Arena. I will be playing a lot of it if it doesn't suck like Arena is right now once the heroic mode releases.
I quit constructed for (an occasional game of) battlegrounds because I couldn't keep up with card collecting. So, this'll be a pass for me. Hope tons of people enjoy it though!!!
It looks fun to me. And this is coming from a F2P player that has disenchanted his entire wild collection every rotation. Yeah, it sucks that I don't have those wild cards anymore but barring expensive legendary or epic crafts, I don't have a problem spending a few hundred dust replacing a handful of commons/rares that allow me to have fun with the game mode by re-crafting a few. I'm having a hard time imagining any epic or legendary card from wild that is a must-have card to be competitive in duels, but we'll see.
Just like any game mode, after a month or so, the meta will settle. We'll see just how many or how few wild cards will truly be necessary for dueling. My guess, not many will be needed. Personally, I'll just avoid any meta deck that wants me to use a dozen legendary/epic wild cards. Shouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
I'm just sad that because of my lack of wild cards, I won't be able to play around with experimenting with various deckbuilding ideas that I think could work. IMO, that's some of the most fun you can have in Hearthstone and I feel like this mode would be even more fun to play with. But, because I'm F2P, I just can't afford to waste dust on wild cards that may not yield results.
But hey, for everyone here posting their disappointment, you gotta do what's fun for you. I for one will have a blast for at the bare minimum of several weeks at least, probably for a lot longer. I have to say, this looks far more entertaining to me than Battlegrounds.
Played 15-20 games. Mode feels pretty bad/unbalanced because some passives and treasures are massively stronger than others. In particular the broken weapon replacement and auto-evolve powers are really strong.
The mode sucks. The treasures are so boring, a lot of the hero powers suck or are broken, and the current card pool is so boring and shit. Just doing the Legendary Quests is so painful.
And why the hell is the Hall of Fame not available?!

This right here is exactly why I'll never do the Legendary Duels or whatever it's called. Depending on your treasure picks, it could be easy 12 wins or bust. So, I'd recommend staying away from it, at least until the treasures are remotely balanced and honestly, I doubt that'll happen.
People really love to shit on everything. You aren't forced to play, there are other things you can do in game,
Battleground is still in beta after nearly whole year and they update it regularly. It is debatable if they do amazing job, however game is much better in comparison with what it was on release. The same thing should happen with new game mode. With the time they will polish it until it become very good. I also congratulate them on adding wild sets in pool of cards for this game mode. The reasons for that:
1. They will honour all players who saved their cards in wild. While others dissed them and used dust to play with whatever cards they want in standard. Did anyone ever ask, how is it to get dust for us that refused to diss them? I am f2p who always had to wait whole month in order to get and craft one deck after expansion come out, while others due to dust had few already. Now it is time for us to have good 5 minutes.
2. They will make people buy older sets, at least those that want to play this mode. Which will be payment for this mode. They need to have some money return for investmenting in this mode. With this, wild community might increase as well. Due to more people having cards in wild.

It is an early access, aka not even a beta. It is expected to be quite unbalanced. In a way, players who play it now are betatesting.
With such a restricted pool of cards available, the single most effective initial build for each hero will very soon be fully refined and no one will experiment any more
Depending on the completeness of your collection, some heroes will simply be unplayable for some players. For example given Paladin's hero power and initial treasure, the deck just doesn't make sense without Tirion, whom I don't have
At least in the first 1-2 rounds, the choice of treasure and card bucket so far seems completely obvious and straightforward, thus it doesn't feel like a mode that rewards deck-building that much.

I approve, thats really a big problem. They have to change sets a lot in order to prevent this or it won't be any different than playing ranked.
It is just constructed with extra steps and less balance. If you are burned out of constructed play, you won't find much joy in playing the new mode. Also, Robes of Gaudiness should be removed from the pool of treasures. Yes, it is super fun to play it against overtuned boss mechanics in order to even things out, but when it is played against you it is not fun at all.
It looks like it could be funny. Cant get worse then battlegrounds i guess

You can perfectly compete just playing the soulshard package with DH. And honestly due to the powercreep + you'll get plenty of treasures and cards between the games (some of which pretty OP).

This is the only truth.
jk ofc.

Can't believe all the whiners here.

Well, Mozaki is completely busted. No point playing until they nerf her.

Y'all trippin' this is super fun! When it gets fully released it will only improve.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
