I think I have every classic card imaginable and 15k dust to spare. I have tried playing control warrior and handlock etc but I win 1, lose 2 and sometimes more.
I was an avid player back in the day and once reached rank 10 back before the new system, but I am really incentivized by the new reward system to get better. My ultimate goal is to use the battle pass rewards + ranked rewards to get enough stuff to get back into standard.
Can someone in the platinum/diamond range recommend me the best deck for the job? If I hit platinum 5 once, I can confidently hit it every month, but I would love to learn a deck or something along the way.
I am currently using the deck builds in the decks section of the main website. I get rekt when i use those miracle rogue / control warrior / handlock builds, after bronze, my wins are getting less.
I would craft: 1: Zoo. It seems easy, but to play around every aoe and removal including minion placement and trades actually takes serious skill. It is probably the best deck to learn the basics of the game.
2: Double Combo druid. Probably a bit easier to play than zoo, but there is a lot of math to be done, and you need to plan ahead to get your opponent into finishing range.
3: Midrange hunter. Straight forward beast focused midrange deck, fantastic at countering control, notably warrior. Some considerations to be made how to make your beasts stick to the board, and how to get lethal before they lethal you, as you have few defensive tools.
4: Face warrior. People do not expect this, and you will quickly be better at playing the deck than your opponents are at countering it. You need to plan ahead with your weapon use and use the curve efficiently for maximum damage. You will often go face and let your opponent trade, but not always!
With handlock, I've had mixed luck with face, especially with taunts. I am still unsure if the current classic meta is favored for face, control, or ramp.
Can you link me a few good decks for each type you mentioned?

Handlock is certainly a viable deck, but a very tricky one to play where you have to play very cleanly to get a good winrate.
Here you go, but don't be afraid to do small changes to adapt to your style and what you are facing.
