So classic hearthstone has come out and I admit I'm loving it at the moment. Even do it is a bit of rock paper scissors, this was how it was when the game came out and it brings a lot of memories of being able to play these decks again.
But I cant deny the fact that at some point it will become stale to anyone who spends a lot of hours in this mode. What do you think blizzard will do next, or what should they do with Classic in the future to come.
I know it might be a bit early to speculate, as it has just come out. But the timing of this release, one week before the new expansion and rotation comes out, will people still play Classic when we have all this new content if it stays the same for a really long time?
or whats else is next for classic, do you guys have any other cool ideas, has Blizzard hinted anything? I would love to hear the feedback of this wonderful community!

Rather than repeating the cycle of expansions I'd like to see developers focus on balancing the existing cards (just few changes at a time to slowly shift the balance). Otherwise we'd end up getting a second wild mode with extra steps. Transferring some of the current legacy card changes would be a solid first step (e.g. 2/3 Raid Leader). Adding expansions is fine in a long run, but the process should be really slow and approached carefully

I admit I'm having a lot of fun playing the old combo druid, freeze mage, and handlock. I see classic format as something I'll come back to once in a while when I want to experience the fun of the old decks again. I think it would be cool if they eventually opened up through Curse of Naxxramas and maybe all the way through Blackrock Mountain adventure or something, just to bring back the fun Reno decks too.
1: Go back to different patches. Generally, the last patch before a new release created some nice metagames where most broken stuff was cleaned out, and some were not even solved, like the likely next stop: Naxx right before GvG.
2: Carefully add more cards to Classic mode, making the weakest classes stronger and introducing counters to the best decks.
I don't think the classic format is completely solved, and there are enough different viable decks for it to be slightly unstable. The downside is that a lot of the games feel very similar once you know the matchups. People are also already conceding before they get smashed by the FoN/SR or Rogue Leeroy combos just because they are so tired of them.
I would love to see the devs craft unique metas using sets that were never in standard together, like they very occasionally do with Tavern Brawls. For example, having a monthly or expansion-based rotating meta with the Core set, GvG, Blackrock, Boomsday, Mean Streets, and Darkmoon Faire. It could be an opportunity to have sales on the wild card packs present in that mode to encourage totally new card combinations without having to endure playing straight up Wild mode.

Loved this idea, but if that happened, could it even be called Classic mode anymore?
I think Blizz dug themselves into a hole with their description of Classic, its too rigid. Nostalgia sells, sure, but ppl will get bored fast if all they do is redo every expansion in order. Having something like a Set Shuffle every 2 months would be amazing.

There will be major balance issues, though, as the power levels of the different expansions are in different universes, and many cards rely on synergies which will not be present.
Oh, and the pro-gamers of the past did NOT solve the meta back then, at all... We are seeing inventions already, I just crushed a miracle rogue with a WGless combo druid.
I don't think that classic mode is supposed to stay particularly popular. It seems more like a fallback for some players, in case they dislike the standard/wild meta. Some people only like constructed play, so this can keep them entertained + all the posts going "hearthstone is worse than ever, bring back Ben Brode or I'm out tomorrow" will just look plain dumb now.

So should blizzard open up:
Curse of Naxxramas
Goblins vs Gnomes
or whats else is next for classic, do you guys have any other cool ideas, has Blizzard hinted anything?

I could see it beeing like fightinggame Metas. Long time no change and suddenly, someone found a way to beat the best deck after 2years :D

A perfectly balanced game mode? Sounds great!

I see 2 ways forward:

Or they will just bury it in a shallow grave in about two weeks when everyone's bored of playing 4 decks over and over again.

They wiil introduce a midclassic mode, that will allow you to choose between past "years", such as Year of Mammoth, Year of Raven and so on.
There will be major balance issues, though, as the power levels of the different expansions are in different universes, and many cards rely on synergies which will not be present.
