Obtaining 30 cards is (at best) going to take you a good number of turns, unless you have some really good blood gem generation. The reward also only lasts for 1 turn as well. Personally, this quest and reward seems more than a little "meh!" to me, unless you have a specifically big set up for it.
Should be permanent because he's playing Vashj. That's the point of the post
I missed the Vashj part - thanks - but even with permanance on the spell, I still think it's fairly mediocre at best. There's much more impactful quest rewards that require a lot less set up than this one does. But just my opinion.
If you were vashj, you can just make a minion golden permanently each round. Like everyone notes, 30 cards is difficult, but what factions were in the game? Beast and mechs aren’t as helpful, but naga coin and spell generation counts and blood gem helps a lot too. Pirates have a free card in freedealing gambler and sellemental is a two for one net. If you aren’t focused on scaling a party or leveling your tavern tier, it can be done much quicker than you think. Anyway, did you win?
That's a pretty cool quest interaction with Vashj. Hopefully you were offered plenty of spellcraft minions. I can only imagine that with my luck I'd be dead before getting to abuse this with the good high end Nagas.
Also, it would be cool if this was in the Battlegrounds section on here to make conversations like these easier to find.
Still if you can bump a key minion that should get you top 8.
If you concede immediately after choosing the quest you should get top 8….
I’m thinking the strategy here is to go either naga or quillboars and get as many gold charlga/tidemistress as possible while making the minions you got on the way golden. Golden Bonker or shoal commander can do some work.
This should work out favorably, no?
By time you get 30 cards in your hand the game will be over anyway.

So how'd it work out?

Since Nagas are in you could abuse the tokens with Pashmar, but yeah blood gems would be useful as well.
Being able to make a card golden every turn is semi useful as battlecries aren't upgraded and you don't get to discover a minion.

Just saw all these responses. 30 cards was a tall order. 6th place. Feels bad.
