1) Tavern selection is too important. There are "win the game" units and you don't find even one, you lose.
2) First few turns of the game aren't really choices usually.
3) Elementals are stupidly OP right now.
4) Pirates only win building a ridiculous machine while also being ridiculously OP mid game.
5) Some heroes are dramatically better versions of other heroes. Sneed hero power gives permanent deathrattle > Lich King. Cookie is a superior form of Galewing (because it is one turn faster and tutors). Galewing is a superior form of Elise, who has to pay mana for her discovers.
1. Well yeah good cards and bad cards but for the most part MOST cards are at least situationally good the game is made to adapt to what's given
2. For certain heroes it can be but that's a non issue your limited at the beginning
3. I mean they are good and competitive but a far cry from when they were introduced and were ACTUALLY OP
4. Pirates are honestly in a weird place. If anything they suffer if you are playing on mobile or on a crappy PC...or just slow. Also they really don't have much of a midgame unless you either highroll or play Patches and even then it's questionable.
5.Yeah this I'll give you the armor helps but so many of them are either kinda bad or VERY situational. Though a lot of it I'll chalk up to nerfs and power creep. Guff never recovered from his nerf, Elise needs to be reworked since 2 mana was broken but 3 is just awful, and a lot of the heroes just can't really keep up. Hell I think since they introduced Armor that Patchwerk isnt special anymore.
Armor for the shitty heroes has rekindled my interest and fun in the mode for now. The gap between the the top and the bottom tier isn't just smaller in theory and stats - you can feel it as a player. I still want more variety and cool shit in the game. I appreciated what they tried to do with Diablo even though in practice it was a bit of a failure. BGs is game mode where variety is vital, I'm cool with experimenting like that, just don't leave the mode to stagnate - it gets old very quickly without constant changes.
The single thing that is wrong with battlegrounds is the electronic roulette algorithm that drives it.
Who goes first, who you play against next, whether you get a triple, what minion gets hit and in what order… the list is endless and the entire thing is controlled by software.
There’s nothing that the player can do. No strategy can mitigate any of the above as it’s all controlled by software.

Who goes first is only random if you have the same amount of minions. Attack order is left to right. There are various ways to manipulate what minions get hit and when. There are plenty of times where who you play is not random. I'm not sure you actually play the game.
I think the game is actually quite good right now with armor and the removal of Diablo. No complaints on my side.
Also, Elementals are not suddenly OP. They just have more time than before to actually scale. Dragons and Murlocs also benefit greatly from this.

I disagree, I think the randomness is part of what makes the mode so exciting and addictive. It's why people get addicted to games of chance (like slot machines or gambling) and not chess.
If the randomness was toned down, BG would be a far less popular mode. When a game is deterministic and determined entirely to skill, it's becomes too cerebral and appeals to a far smaller group.
Nothing is wrong with BG's. It is what it is, and has gotten better over time. It just isnt for everyone. Hearthstone is becoming a platform with lots of ways to play. Trying to play all of them will have you living in front of your computer and likely shelling out lots of cash. Personally I dont play Mercenaries and seldom play duels. I put a limit on my spending and Mercenaries is a money pit. Duels is ok, it just isnt my favorite mode.

Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
The only problem with bgs atm is that some heroes are literally unplayable compared to others. A little bit of armor helps SOME heroes (Lich, AFK and Rag) that needs time, but doesn't do jack shit for others like Patchwerk.
I think there are too many tribes at the same time in a game. Probably they should start banning 4 each game, instead of 3.
Also, some heroes need rework as no amount of armor is gonna save them. No hero power should be useless most of the time! Sure, having some moments when it's not useful is fine, but not most of the time...
Secondly, the damage cap should still be in effect after the first 2 players die. Why 2? As a safeguard, since a lot of people quit in the first few turns.
Thirdly, going first should be controlled randomness, at least when facing the same player, with a message somewhere that you are going to attack first or second. Couple this with NOT facing the same guy again until you've faced all other opponents that you never battled.
Fourthly - animations. Give us a button to skip battle animations and gain time. I really hate having to block/unblock HS in the firewall all the time... or better yet - ADD THE ANIMATION time to the turn timer after they are done. I know these concurrency issues are not easy to fix, but some things can be done. Even forcing everyone to wait for all the battles to finish and then start ALL turn timers is a good idea (basically force-sync everyone).
Lastly, stop forcing tribe compositions when you add new tribes! It's annoying as hell to have the new one present every game. Not to mention the hidden increased chance to see minions from that tribe... yea, i do remember quillboars. Let the game play out normally. You gather lots of data anyway since there are a lot of games being played... no need to force anything.
Will these ever see the light of day? Nope. Too much time investment for no clear monetary gain. So lets talk just to pass the time :)
PS: please start un-nerfing stuff. Your powercreep design caught up it seems. Quillboars won't be OP now if they got a little buff towards how they were at launch. Some heroes too.
The bugs that make the game unplayable at times, and of course....Tarecgosa. Card literally shows up in the top 4 of every one of my lobbies that has Dragons. Should be tier 4.
Not sure what bugs make it unplayable. I certainly am not seeing anything game breaking and have no disconnects. I think the Khadgar/Baron pirate interactions are stupid and buggy, but not game breaking.
I'm pretty happy with the game right now especially since late game builds shine without Diablo around to fuck everything up.
Imho the bg Team is by far better then the Standard Team, when it comes to balance.
Not a single tribe is complete garbage, they can all win games.
The invention of armor was a great and refreshing idea, something that hasnt happen in standard for years.
Ofc the power level of heros has a massive gab, here the gamemode needs adjustment but with the constant release of new heros it was a natural thing to happen.
Elementals and Dragons can get too powerful at lower tiers. Which pushes a lot of options out the window. There just isn't enough variety.
That is all in relation to what tribes are in the game. Demons can do this too and all can be taken down by Murlocs. And of course people are just gonna get lucky. That's just how it goes.

Demons can do this too? Are you kidding me. They are useless right now. They are out scaled right away when they used to be able to cheat out a top 4.
And luck is out the window, minimum half the lobby gets "lucky", it's not luck anymore. And I have a very good win rate btw, so I am not complaining about losing, it just feels monotonous.
And while I agree with some people here that Battlegrounds is the best mode, that isn't exactly some kind of accomplishment. Constructed is in the worst state I think I can remember.

Identify What is Wrong With Battlegrounds.

Meh, I'm pretty satisfied and play only BG. Don't even think I remember how to play ladder at this point.
Nestmatron and Doomsayer.

If you HATE random, why are you playing BGs in the first place?
EVERYTHING in this mode is random, heroes, tribes, minions in the shop, the attack order
Sigh, here we go again. There's always one.

For me disconnect is the issue getting on my nerves
