Hasn't been long, but I think I'm about burnt out on this meta. Just too much powerful synergy in a few of these builds; makes any sort of off-meta concoction obsolete.
Ur'zul is stupid and scales too fast with doomsayer. It usually gets to like 40/40 stats within 2 turns of being played and other tribes are forced to look for poison spore early (which is garbage against beasts and any build with divine shield) or they'll end up running like half of their board into a single minion.
Blizzard come on, I know you don't care much for battlegrounds but it's time you fix this beasts/demon meta. It's been fun for about a week, now it's just ridicolous.
The game has shifted from being very adaptable, even in the late game, to you've got to know what you'll end up with until turn 7 max.
To be honest I'm rather kind towards the new option. I actually prefer rolling for the stuff I know I want rather than starting your tactic by forcing tier 5 minions from discovers or trying to get anything decent on turn 10 while others already have their stuff.
The only thing that bugs me is doomsayer really. Changing the avenge counter to 4 should do the trick. It Will still be strong but other tribes should have more time to grow stronger.
People say beasts are too strong but they're over exaggerating. If anything frog should be a tier 3 minion with stats changed to 4/4.
So basically what would have been a perfect change for me were doomsayer to avenge 4 and frog to tier 3 with 4/4 stats.
I honestly think the frog is the most broken thing ever in the history of BG. I also would like to see Toxfin back instead of the ninja murloc. Demon scales pretty hard but it is pretty easy to counter. For me personally the 2 following cards should be nerfed:
The frog
The tier 3 2/6 demon guy. You can temposwing waaay to hard with it.
Flurgal has knocked off Nguyen for #1 Hero at HSReplay.
In something that I consider a little bit disturbing, Millhouse is #7. With 2 elementals that can provide free refreshes and 2 mana cheat Pirates, much of the time Millhouse is all upsides and no downsides. I actually picked Millhouse over Nguyen when I saw both Pirates and Elementals were going to be in the game, and finished #2 to the Omu who had all the Tier 6 pirates I wanted but couldn't find.
Frog can't really be fixed unless they remove the cascading deathrattle. That's a mechanic that shouldn't exist in battlegrounds as long as there's Baron. It's a Pogo/Jandice situation, one must go. Doomsayer needs to be moved to tier 6 and the revenge trigger upped to 4 minions. Djinn was T5 and they had to nerf it because it was too powerful (and it's giving ONE elemental!), I don't know how the devs thought a T3 minion like doomsayer wouldn't break the game.
The frog deathrattle interaction with Baron is neat from a design perspective, but it's too powerful right now and it also breaks the game, with the animations going so long that turns are skipped.
Usually Doomsayer is mainly an issue in the midgame. Then you transition to single big demons that don't spawn tokens. So bumping it up to tier 4 might be enough to solve the issue.
Some leaks have come out. Frog will give +1/+1. Cobra goes to 5. Parrot cant trigger own deathrattles. Doomsayer goes to 4 and gets avenge (4). Dragon girl gives +1hp. T2 aura pirate comes back. Shudderwock's HP will cost 2. Mal'ganis goes to T3, Chargla again buffs itself, multiple hp/attack buffs to pirates and quilboars etc etc.
Still think Macaw should be removed, honestly, and replaced with something else for beasts. Not convinced it's good for the mode, and effectively depreciates later deathrattling beasts due to lowering chance of hitting the right deathrattle plus full boards. This parrot nerf is a good start, though. Still think demons are too strong relative to other tribes after those leaked changes, if they're true.
Standard is actually better with than BGs right now lol
Depends on what you are looking for. Hard to compare them.
That being said, this is the best Battlegrounds meta ever. It's not even close.
So many great heroes. So many ways to leverage minions. Damage cap. Some minions are broken, but everyone has opportunity to use them and everyone knows what they are.
You must be 6 months back in time. All you see is the same Beast or Demons crap from every. single. player. There's more Demon/Beast comps than Quest Warlocks ROFL ROFL
This meta is absolutely trash and it has been deteriorating consistently the last 6 months. Soon it will be unplayable and time to find a different game.

There is a patch coming tomorrow that will remove leapfrog problem and infinite demons resources from turn 4 problem. It will be much more playable . Standard is just dead until quests rotate

Demons will still scale faster than most stuff, I think. Tomorrow's patch, assuming those leaked changes are true, will help a lot, though, with the meta.
Huge Dragons = Groundshaker + Whelp Smuggler + Trash Dragons + Bannerboar (the 1/4 minion that plays a bloodgem on adjacent Quillboar)
Played as Shudderwock (no Murlocs in Tavern) and never got anything good and didn't Triple until just 2 players left.
Saw a Groundshaker and wanted to know how it worked with Whelp Smuggler.
Won last 9 battles in a row and beat a large demons board 3 times in a row with help from Nadina.
As it turns out Groundshaker + Bannerboar with Whelp Smuggler can buff even crappy dragons very nicely if you occasionally sell some Sun-Bacon Relaxers.
Turned trash Tavern rolls into a huge board. I wanted demons or beasts, instead I got bad minions no one wanted but figured out how to combo them.
Guys have you had a chance to play some games? I did play a few and got the feeling there are more usable strategies now that not everybody is not rushing frogs and doomsayers... it might be because it's just right after the patch but BGs might be quite better now. What do you think?

Any news of a balance patch?

Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game

The beast crap is really really annoying... of course with all the clowns out there that's all they know how to play

Parrot not triggering its own death rattles makes a lot of sense and solves a giant problem.
It is pretty silly a Monsterous McCaw massively enlarging itself every attack as final minion.
