They are gathering exp there is no such strategy. Only when you have certain heroes you can skip two turns to get full benefit from the cards and hero power but that is only for first two turns.
I wonder if people tank fights early in the season to gain exp and to negatively affect you MMR when there are no consequences to do so allowing a stronger rise vs your skill when you do start playing.
Recently in my games I've faced opponents who start with opponents, but then suddenly they go for an empty field for a turn or two.
Is this some kind of new meta strategy? In the game I'm in right now in the first 5 turns I met people who didn't even buy any minions.
Uhm, something is weid. I haven't faced a single opponent this game with minions. One upgraded to tier 6, but none got any minions. What's going on?
You get exp for it. Better then ropeping so they can go on

I think AFKing in battlegrounds is a thing... you still get exp for playing even if you don't actually do anything and then lose.
Free win for you, maybe?
One of the many reasons BG is still in beta.

Everyone is rushing for tier 5 and 6 to get the end game build early. And then pivot into scam build... the most boring update ever
