So I've passed 6k, only barely, because I was at like 5900 and went 1st in a game that boosted me above 6k. The next game I was 4th, which actually costed me a couple of points this time around and I dropped to 5998.
I was under the impression that there is a floor each 500 points, below which you can no longer drop, once you reach it.
Just to test it I started auto-conceding to see if maybe there's other floor somewhere lower. 5500... Nothing, still can go lower. After dropping below 5k I stopped, because even though I don't care about my rating the slightest, I don't like the fact that ranks below like 4,5k don't feel challenging at all.
So are there any floors at all? If my understanding was correct I managed to drop below the floor I shouldn't be able to drop below three times.
I saw some post saying that it's somehow related to playing with friends. Yes, I do play with friends, but I haven't reached any of the aforementioned floors while playing with them and the last time we played was on Monday. So if this is indeed a matter of playing with friends do floors not exist for me, because I do it from time to time?
Rank floors in BGs should not return due to the AFK farmers. If you AFK-farm, at least you should be at the very bottom of the ladder playing vs other afk-farmers.
In a mode that is barely competitive I don't see any problem with the above. I asked out of curiosity, not because my rank is important to me. For all it's worth, I would still enjoy BG, should there be no ranking system at all. Who cares if afk players are lower or higher? There is a huge difference between ladder and BG and that is because on ladder higher placings grant you rewards.
Right now BG is a wierd hybrid between a competitive mode and a totally casual mode and Blizzard themselves send mixed messages regarding this.

Even if you ignore mmr, competitiveness or rewards, they still had to do something about the exploit because new players were getting matched with people who already know most of the strats and builds.

Unlike in other modes, where you get something for winning AND your w/l depends on your cards/deck, in BG being matched with strong players is actually a good learning experience. Of course it's not nice to be crushed, but sooner or later you will get a grip. Sooner if you will be playing against better opponents. I myself have learnt some interesting strats by simply being crushed by them.
There is no effing point in the scores, or floors or any of it without a reward structure. No point worrying about the stupid number that goes up and down at the end of your game, it means literally nothing.

Nobody is learning anything from getting crushed, especially when they are playing for the first.

I've read on the forums they've disabled the BG floors due to a bug.
They were disabled sometime ago due to a bug
Lol, what a mess. Do you guys know if they are gonna reinstate them once they fix it or they abandoned the idea completely?
I believe 6k is the highest floor. I just recently ranked up past it, and found out at 6.5 and 7k that there are no floors at that rank.
Still no floors atm, did they say something if floors will return one day?

People found an exploit with rank floors that lets you climb faster and play against lower skilled opponents, so they removed it.
